Remember when we declared Man Made Global Warming missing? Well, that whole existence of that is kinda in question considering the Earth seems to be COOLING and all. But I digress. While global warming seems to be just as real as Bigfoot and Nessie, there are “true believers” that drink deeply from the Kool-Aid no matter what the circumstances. Watch this, if you’d like a chuckle.
I would nominate these “believers” for the Useful Idiot of the Month, but their idiocy is far to great for even our humble dishonor. After all, they were PROTESTING GLOBAL WARMING AFTER A SNOWSTORM!!!!
But wait, there’s more! Our friends at News Busters reported on this very issue, and quoted the Fox Forum.
This is the winter of environmentalists’ discontent. They desperately want the earth to be warming to prove Al Gore’s truth inviolate and they are going to make you pay thousands of dollars for it no matter whether it’s true or not.
But the weather has been inconveniently cold. Thirty-two states have experienced record or near-record lows this winter — poking holes in the predictions of imminent fiery doom. Just ask the die-hard global warming activists who showed up in Washington last week to protest the nation’s use of coal. Their event was hampered by nearly a foot of snow in the nation’s capital — enough to freeze out luminaries like Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
I can see environazis rending their garments, pulling out their hair, and jumping from windows (hopefully at least tenth floor or higher). Of course, they can’t let a little thing like REALITY get in the way of their ideas.
In fact, now the theme — even from the global warming camp is … (drum roll, please) we could have up to three decades of cooling. Michael Reilly, of Discovery News, summed it up well: “Earth’s climate continues to confound scientists.” He quoted a new study by Kyle Swanson of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, saying “global warming may have hit a speed bump and could go into hiding for decades.”
Just as the global warming reality is cooling, the opposition is heating up. This week marked the second annual “International Conference on Climate Change” in New York, sponsored by The Heartland Institute. It brought together hundreds of climate skeptics from around the world and was headlined by European Union President Vaclav Klaus.
I wonder how they will try to explain this to their minions. Even with all of my sarcasm at full force, I can’t come up with a sufficiently f****ed up excuse to cover for this. Of course, they’ll find a way.

Klaus got to the heart of the matter during his opening night address. The climate debate isn’t just about temperature, he told the gathering of scientists and public policy experts. He said “environmentalists want to change us and our behavior” because “their mission is control.”
Thar we go folks. There’s the idea. But what is the nature of this “control.” I believe I have the answer, and it’s closely related to sustainable development. Here’s a quote.
Canadian oil billionaire Maurice Strong, Secretary General at the Rio de Janeiro United Nations 1992 Conference on Environment and Development, expressed the goal of Sustainable Development by declaring a partial list of what is not sustainable:
“…current life-styles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle-class [e.g. Americans]-involving high meat intake [e.g. cattle production], use of fossil fuels [e.g. air and auto travel], industrial and consumer products, appliances [e.g. refrigeration] home and work air-conditioning and suburban housing are not sustainable.” (emphasis added)
When you hear the phrase “sustainable development,” just think of the old Soviet Union and the phrase “five year plan.” The next time you see a bunch of useful idiots protesting against capitalism, think of this. This is the future that they would have you live. It has nothing to do with science- it never did. It is about control, and about idiots protesting in snowstorms.

I will say this, however….Soylent Green got it ALL FRIGGIN’ WRONG. It’s the young people who need to be euthanized. Post-friggin-haste.
Yes Dr. Dave, however, this particular snowstorm was during a winter in which large amounts of the US became COOLER. 2009 is now the beginning of the second year in a row that the earth is COOLING. One snowstorm is not climate, but It shows the idiocy of the global warming crown quite nicely!
