This story is slightly stale, but it’s been on my mind for a week now.  Apparently, Steven Chu, the messiah’s pick for the Department of Energy, thinks that painting all the roofs white will save more energy that parking all of the cars for 11 years!  Apparently, all of the energy would be reflected back into space, saving on cooling costs.  Source here.

This got me thinking about the messiah’s iPod playlist from a couple weeks ago.  I might add a song.  “Paint it White,” by the AGW Zombies…

I see a red roof and I want it painted white
No colors anymore, I want them to turn white
I see the girls walk by dressed in their Obama Youth Corps clothes
I have to turn my head until my wretching goes

I see a line of cars and theyre all painted white

With Obama all my wealth forever out of sight

I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a new regulation it just happens evry day
I look inside myself and see my heart is white

I see my red roof and it has been painted white
Maybe then Ill fade away and not have to face the temptation
Its not easy facin up when your whole world is endless regualtion.

No more will money stay in my possession
I could not foresee this thing prior to the election

If I look hard enough into the settin sun
My love will laugh with me before the mornin comes

I see a red door and I want it painted white
No colors anymore I want them to turn white
I see the girls walk by dressed in their Obama Youth Corps clothes
I have to turn my head until my wretching goes
Hmm, hmm, hmm,…
I wanna see it painted, painted white
Regulated to death, dead inside
I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky
I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted white
Yeah!

Mmkay, now a serious thought.  If the reflected sunlight lowers costs during the summer, wouldn’t it INCREASE them during the winter?  I mean, heat absorbed by a black roof during the winter would LOWER heating costs, amirite?  Would all the plant food emitted during the winter balance any saving made over the summer?

Matt

MattI believe that future generations should have the same opportunities that myself, and those that came before me, had. My parents taught me that I could do anything I wanted to do. I don’t want to have to tell my daughter, “You can do whatever the government tells you to do.” We are at a crossroads in this country; are we going to be free, or are we going to be slaves to the nanny state. I choose freedom.
