Indoctrination in schools has been a concern for Conservatives for some time. Those of us who have been following the educational system know that indoctrination has been the goal of education for decades. Now, evidence is mounting, and the educational system is being exposed for the brainwashing machine that it is designed to be. For background, kindly view, “Education: Our Greatest Battle?, and “Leftist Daycare.”
Last week, the following video gained some attention from FOX News.
This wasn’t particularly surprising to me. Songs, stories, games, rewards, and chastisement are all parts of the indoctrination process. I remember hearing stories about Castro’s Cuba that goes along those lines. For example, school children are instructed to close their eyes and pray to Jesus for candy. Of course, there is no candy when the children open their eyes. Then, the children are instructed to close their eyes and pray to Castro for candy. While the children were “praying,” they teachers went through the room and put a piece of candy on each desk. The message is obvious, as was the message with the school song. Especially when one considers that they took a line from “Jesus Loves the Little Children,” and substituted President Obama for Jesus.
It must be remembered that these are very young children, and what they learn at this age is highly influential. These children are learning very basic ideas about the world. Any teacher or leftist school principal will know that. So they substitute their savior for the Christian one, and adds some political ideology (equal work for equal pay-this would be good for another post), for good measure.
Then, one has to look at the reaction of the school. The principal of the school seems to be more upset that the video was released and discovered, rather than the event took place. Actually, she wasn’t upset that it occurred at all. For more, this from FOX News.
The principal of a New Jersey elementary school where young students were videotaped singing the praises of President Obama is making no apologies for the videotape and says she would allow the performance again if she could, according to parents who spoke with her Thursday night.
Three parents told FOXNews.com that Dr. Denise King, principal of B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, N.J., defended the controversial performance, which was videotaped and posted on YouTube, when they approached her during a “Back to School” event.
King has long been a fan of Obama, hanging pictures of the president in her school’s hallways and touting her trip to his inauguration in the school yearbook.
Included in the full-page yearbook spread were Obama campaign slogans (“Yes we can! Yes we did!”) and photos King took in Washington on Jan. 20, when she attended the inauguration.
There also were photos taken at the school depicting students doing Obama-themed activities about their “hopes for the future,” featuring posters of Obama. According to the yearbook, students watched the inauguration in class.
Parents said Elvira James, the teacher of the class that was videotaped, also seemed to be promoting Obama.
“She praised him, she put pictures on the walls,” said Jim Pronchick, whose 8-year-old son, Jimmy, was in James’ class last year. “When he won (the election) they really went off.”
Leslie Gibson, who has two children at the school, said she was “shocked” at the videotape, adding that political beliefs, like religious views, should be kept at home. She also said King made a “big deal” about her attendance at the inauguration.
“Throughout the school, there were signs posted supporting Barack Obama quite a bit,” Gibson told FOXNews.com. “I understand it’s a historical event, but on the same token, I like politics to be left at home and I think she should follow that as well.”
Attempts to reach King on Friday were unsuccessful. A recording at the school said its mailbox was full and could not accept new messages.
Of course, Obama’s election was an historic event, and should be discussed in that context. However, it is clear that this goes far beyond the historical significance of the election, to a preferential treatment of the POTUS, including the use of campaign slogans in the school yearbook. This is the promotion of a personality cult, which is a dangerous development in any nation.
Another point of interest is the fact that the adults in authority have absolutely no problem with the event, and would do it again. They either think that this is not indoctrination, or they do, and think that’s their role. Either way, it shows the damage done to the public education system, as well as the damage done to the children stuck in that system. Additionally, their reaction shows that they are more concerned with the fact that the event was publicized in the first place. In the future, more schools will likely strengthen their policies about recording school events, after all, they can’t have news about similar events getting out, can they?
Also, the parents seemed surprised by this videos. Let’s make this simple; If you have a child in a public school, you must not trust that they’re going to act in accordance with your beliefs and values. If you believe in individual rights, our constitution, and the free market, your public school may be your adversary. Not every school does this type of thing, but investigating and being involved are the only way to protect your child from this type of propaganda. That, and removing them from public school.
You think this is isolated? Here are some more.
Here are two historical examples for comparison.
I will continue to assert that the purpose of our current educational system is to indoctrinate youth into the socialist/progressive ideology. These events only make it more clear. Children are being directly taught ideology, and it has nothing to do with being a free citizen in a constitutional republic. Instead, it’s about being a drone in the collective.
Note: I tried the other cable networks for quotes or other points of view, however, I was unable to find anything on CNN, and MSNBC had an article, but it was from that source that will not be quoted.
UPDATE: I had to replace the first video with one from another YouTube user. Seems the first was hit was a “terms of use violation.” I wonder if this is another attempt to remove evidence?
