Conservative Hideout 2.0

First, this from Newsbusters

The broadcast networks still haven’t uttered a single word about the revelations late last week of e-mails showing scientists on the left-wing side of the global warming debate plotting to hide data and silence those on the other side in an effort prop up the notion of a “consensus” on the issue. But when the liberal side of the debate charged that their opponents were involved in a “conspiracy” to tilt the debate in their favor, those same networks eagerly jumped on the story and castigated the evil “deniers.”

In 2007, as Brent Baker chronicled at the time in the MRC’s CyberAlert, the broadcast network evening newscasts jumped to hype a House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform hearing meant to publicize a report from two far-left groups about how the Bush administration supposedly suppressed science about the dire threat of global warming — as if that view wasn’t getting plenty of play in the mainstream media.

So, the broadcast networks have completely failed to run the story that emails, confirmed to be legitimate, demonstrate that climate scientists have been altering data to fit their point of view, as well as attempting to silence those who disagree.  However, they take the reports of the left as gospel, and broadcast allegations of conspiracies from the right.  Funny that they missed a situation in which there is actual evidence, isn’t it?

Well then, what has the broadcast media been running regarding AGW?  Let’s take a look at this from ABC.

There’s even less time for humanity to try to curb global warming than recently thought, according to a new in-depth scientific assessment by 26 scientists from eight countries.

Sea level rise, ocean acidification and the rapid melting of massive ice sheets are among the significantly increased effects of human-induced global warming assessed in the survey, which also examines the emissions of heat-trapping gases that are causing the climate change.

“Many indicators are currently tracking near or above the worst-case projections” made three years ago by the world’s scientists, the new Copenhagen Diagnosis said.

Nor has manmade global warming slowed or paused, as some headlines have recently suggested, according to the report, which you can see here.

The scientists also calculate that the world’s emissions of heat-trapping gases must peak in less than 10 years and then dive quickly to nearly zero, if warming of more than another 2 degrees Fahrenheit above the current annual global temperature is to be prevented after 2050.

I think we can see where the broadcast networks stand.  They ignore evidence of blatant fraud, and continue to run even more hysterical stories regarding the end of the world.  They apparently don’t think that you need to read or hear about the climate scientist that talked about using a “trick” to “ hide the decline,” or know about the American climate scientist that emailed his British counterparts, lamenting the fact that their data does not show warming.

Nope, you don’t need to know that, do you?

Is it any wonder that their audiences is disappearing?

About Matt

I believe that future generations should have the same opportunities that myself, and those that came before me, had. My parents taught me that I could do anything I wanted to do. I don’t want to have to tell my daughter, “You can do whatever the government tells you to do.” We are at a crossroads in this country; are we going to be free, or are we going to be slaves to the nanny state. I choose freedom.

The above image really makes a case for man-made global warming—I love it. That’s about all they have left. The MSM will put this story on the far back burner and continue to march to the tune of the radical environmentalist. They will continue to worship at the temple of Al Gore as we all turn to charcoal from the million degree heat at the earth’s center. And the beat goes on!!!!!

Well, when the false data fails to make an impact, you go to plan “b.”

  • Bunni November 24, 2009 at 10:46 pm

Great story and comments Matt! The MSM is slowing picking up on this. The New York Times wrote a piece, and Glenn Beck talked about it today. I have a link of Glenn’s video on my site. Also a cool video parody. Strangely, oBOWma is still pushing his climate change agenda. He thinks if he ignores this, it will go away. Typical of him.

Thanks Bunni, I did see your post and vids. Just haven’t had a chance to leave a comment. The print media has covered it. The Times, however, did not re-print the emails. They said they were illegally obtained. I guess they only print illegally obtained information when it’s classified and puts CIA agents in danger.

There are some that still rely solely on the fMSM for their info. They are on the decrease. There are others, like my nitwit younger brother, who just don’t give a rip about anything and pay no attention to any kind of news. They are irrelevant (except around election time, if we can get them off the couch). The rest of us (on both sides of the aisle) are news junkies who know the issues of the day whether Katie or Wolf or Keef mention them or not. We are the ones that shape issues, and we are not dependent on the fMSM. Let them cry about globull warming and “green shoots” and whatever else the talking points suggest. The people who know better are reaching critical mass. What was once my outrage at their bias has now become a sneering disregard.

Very well said. I agree. I’ve just mad myself look at the bell curve. We’ll never reach the hard left, or the completely apathetic, so why even try? They’re a waste of our time and resources. The middle is the key, and we’re managing to move them to the right. 40% of the people describe themselves as Conservative, only 20% define themselves as liberal. The left has to attract much more of the middle than we do. With their lies, capitulation, and general bumbling, they showing their true colors, and folks are being driven away from Obama and his bunch.

  • Trestin Meacham November 25, 2009 at 6:34 am

I’m sure the MSM will report on this in May, when it’s getting hot and they can dispute it. The media never talks about global warming in the winter. I’m not shocked they would ignore this, think of all they have ignored since Obama came to power. I would list everything but I do not have 30 minutes to leave a comment.

Tell me about it (re: 30 minutes). This is a complicated issue. The media will ignore it until the story becomes too big, then, they’ll try to discredit it.

  • Track-A-'Crat November 25, 2009 at 11:16 am

What disturbs me the most about this, and a whole range of other issues, is how willingly people accept the argument in favor of “global warming” with just about no attempt to delve into the issue for themselves. A huge swathe of people are ready to take Al Gore et al at their word. Since when has it been prudent to take what politicians say at face value?

Just ask a proponent of “climate change” what the single largest greenhouse gas is. It’s almost guaranteed that they’ll give the answer that it’s CO2. Wrong. Water vapor, dummies. And where does water vapor come from?

That’s right, the oceans! So how do we resolve that “problem?”

Philosophers of old would detest the lack of reason and logic that prevails today.

      Matt November 25, 2009 at 7:39 pm

Well said Track, and thanks for commenting. Water vapor a greenhouse gas??? Well then, drain the oceans! Oh, but wait! What about the fishies???

Bah, the point is control. The climate changes whether we’re here or not, or whether we are industrial or not. That’s why they want to pretend that the medieval warm period never happened. Climate change without fossil fuels? Unthinkable!!!

BLESSED THANKSGIVING MY FRIEND!!..I am tryin not to think of all the madness for the next few days!..hugs!

Same to you, Angel, and thanks!!

  • Karen Howes November 25, 2009 at 5:30 pm

You’re not surprised, are you, Matt? This is the left’s modus operandi.

    Have a great Thanksgiving!

    • Matt
      Matt November 25, 2009 at 7:44 pm

No, not surprised, but I still want to rage about it. That, and this leaves blood in the water. Need to get on this now, and talk about it until too many people know.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!

  • Ron Russell November 25, 2009 at 8:18 pm

I still haven’t heard much about this on the MSM, that could be because I never watch them, but I will take the word of others on this one. MSNBC is depending on GE getting those big green contracts for Uncle Sam to keep them afloat. If the truth is revealed MSNBC will be a thing of the past and Chris M. will have to find a new home, maybe at 1600 PA ave shinning Obama shoes.

I’ve been monitoring some of their websites. They are silent on the issue. I did read today that the Washington Post is closing all of their bureaus outside of DC. I guess that’s what not covering actual news does to you.

As for Chris Matthews, I’m thinking that if he worked at 1600, he’d need his legs amputated, uncontrolled tingling and all.

  • theLibertyPen November 25, 2009 at 10:45 pm

I would like to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here. Enjoy yourself and be safe.

P.S. – Al Gore is a fat slob.
