We live in interesting times, as the Chinese curse goes.  The question is, how are we coping?  As I make my rounds through the Internet, I’m picking up some disturbing trends.  I see people getting discouraged, people getting angry, people that are afraid, and so on.  These are all natural reactions to our current situation, but they could get out of control.  That, my friends, can lead to disaster.

Just to remind everyone, our government, as well as the MSM, have been making the claim that we are all DANGEROUS TERRORISTS because we disagree with the government.  Starting with the MIAC Report, to the DHS report, and to now, we have been characterized as ticking time bombs, just waiting for the proper spark to go off.  Even after the Ft. Hood massacre, the lapdogs in the MSM dutifully reported that “right wing militia” activity is at an all time high.  All during the summer, we were insulted, marginalized, and mischaracterized.   It seems that at every turn of events, the left sees the need to take the focus off of real events, and onto us.  There are multiple reasons for this.  One is simply the Alinsky method and discrediting a person or group so their message can be ignored.  Another is to discourage and anger us, and another, and perhaps the most important, is an attempt to set the stage to turn the populace against us.

This is similar to the intent of the FOX News attack, as the powers that be do not want the rest of the population to give us a second thought.  They seek to marginalize us into a single segment, and keep the rest of the people from figuring out what we already know.  They didn’t want to stop Fox, they wanted the rest of the media to ignore FOX, and NOT follow any stories about the government that FOX was breaking.  Anita Dunn stated this openly.  Again, they seek to separate us from the rest of the population.   Perhaps the thought is that by segregating us, they can create a disconnect with the public at large.

So far, alienating us hasn’t been working out too well for the left.  The MSM has become a joke.  By agreeing to go along with this administration, they are only hastening their own impending demise.  They can try to ignore the scandals, the corruption, and the lies, but people are turning to other sources for their information.  Instead of making us irrelevant, they are doing the same to themselves.

We are winning, and will continue to do so, as long as we don’t sabotage our own success.  The polls are increasingly turning against the Democrats.  Majorities now oppose the Democratic health care plan.   Majorities are also noted as being unconcerned with global warming, as ClimateGate is becoming better known.  The Porkulus has been proven to be just that.  Obama now has the lowest approval for any president at this stage of his presidency of all time.  They are losing; lets not interfere with that.

What concerns me is that I think that we are entering a point when the anger at the government is over-riding the logical processes needed to deal with the situations that we face.  Individuals and organizations on the left have reported receiving death threats.  Usually, I discount them, as the left is known for making up such accusations to help marginalize their opposition.  Basically, if the SEIU says the grass is green, I’m going to walk into the yard to verify it.  However, I have started seeing threats printed in blogs, and some of the comments at CH 2.0 have taken some blatantly violent tones.

I get the fact that people are angry, I am too.  I don’t want to see the country that many of my ancestors shed blood for flushed in an incremental socialist revolution.  At the same time, we can’t let that anger take over and start doing what the left wants us to do.  As I have stated, they’ve been trying to con the public into believing that we are terrorists and thugs.  The last thing we want to do is “prove” them correct in that regard.  Not only would it be the equivalent of giving aid and comfort to the enemy, if we lose the people (and they are already turning our way in increasing numbers), our cause is doomed.  If we use the thug tactics of the left, why should anyone consider us to be a valid alternative?  Why do you think they have been taunting us, lying about us, creating propaganda against us for the last few months?  They’re conducting a psyop.  They want us to feel alienated and angry.  Alienated and angry people end up doing desperate things, like making threats, or even taking shots at public officials.  They WANT us to do that.  They can then say that. “See… We told you they were DANGEROUS TERRORISTS!”  If we let them do that, we’re screwed.  I can’t state it  more simply than that.

I also recognize that there are members of the government that have committed what we consider to be acts of treason, or other crimes against our nation.  This, however, does not entitle any of us to become judge, jury, or executioner.  Did our founders arbitrarily take part in murders of opposing officials?  Did they form kangaroo courts and take matters into their own hands?  We all know the answer to that.  The founders left us with a system that grants us the “rule of law, not of men.” If we are going to embrace what the founders left for us, we have to go all the way with it.  We can’t simply act out on our anger.  If we do so, we’re no better than ACORN or the SEIU.   That is not company that I would like to keep.

The fact is that I WANT Barak Obama, Kevin Jennings, Al Gore, Nancy Pelosi, and the rest alive and well. I think that this is still an ideological struggle.  This is still a war for the minds of America; are we going to be a free people, or are we going to be slaves to the nanny state?  I want their ideas defeated, not the people.  The ideas are what are dangerous.  If you just take out the person, another head will take over, and the ideas will go on.  Let’s show the people the truth about Obama’s ideas.  That’s why I’ve been here trying to expose them for the last 10 months.  Let them go home in disgrace after being repudiated by the people.    If we defeat their ideas, we put them back by at least a decade (Sadly, they always came back-Jefferson warned us of this).  In that decade, we can elect people with integrity that WILL scale back the government, and rip out the liberal power structure in DC.

I say this because we have the ideas; freedom, free markets, small government, and an end to political corruption and influence are potential winners.  They are resonating with the people.  We are already winning.  Why ruin it with the same thug tactics and threats that we decry from the left?  We are so close to winning this battle, and it scares me to death that some will jeopardize it by letting their own anger get the better of them.

Another recent development that I have noticed is the rumor that Obama has redeployed the military to the US to go against us in the event of a revolution.  Mind you, I’ve seemed limited evidence of this, and the source for this rumor is from Russia.  This was originally published there.  I would remind everyone that the Russians have as much experience, if not more than the CIA, in destabilizing nations.  If you disagree, just remember that much of what is now our left started with the Soviets back in the 60’s (There’s much more to it than that, but that isn’t the main point here).  Our left was shaped, molded, and refined by the KGB and their puppet organizations through the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s.  The attempt was so successful that it even exceeded the expectations of its architect, Yuri Andropov.  Destabilizing and setting up failure in other nations has been in their playbook for a long time, and they are still doing it.  Just take a look at their efforts in Georgia (the country, not the state), for some confirmation.

The Russians have much to gain if we end up in rebellion.  They are attempting to regain the power and prestige of the Soviet Union; it would serve them well if they could inflame us into acting to make them stronger in the end.  If they can take our polarized state, and fan the flames until the US goes up in smoke, who gets to dominate Europe?  We’re the only real check on them in that part of the world, so taking us out of the picture allows them to increase their own sphere of influence.  We have to remember that while the Russians are not the mortal enemy they were during the cold war, they are not our friends either.  If they could de-stabilize the US, they could move into the power vacuum left by the demise of this nation.

This story, however, has caused some to prepare for the worst.  The issue for me is that once people start thinking that something is a foregone conclusion, they will begin to act towards that conclusion, sometimes preemptively.    If the Russians, or anyone else for that matter, can convince a group that the end is near, and a revolt is going to happen, they can prompt those people into acting, either mistakenly, or too soon.  Just ask yourself, “Who benefits from these stories, or the violence that occurs because of them?”  I believe it’s a set-up- one that we simply cannot fall for.

We need to fight the left.  With words, with protests, with radio shows, with blogs, forums, and websites, with phone calls and letters and faxes-those are our weapons and ammo.  We need to find, recruit and run candidates that believe in America, not Amerika.  We need to continue educating our friends and family members.  We need to continue blogging and sharing our ideas, knowledge, and experiences.   We need to continue exposing the leftists and their agenda.  Those are the tactics and the weapons that we should continue to use, and for as long as they are available to us.

Frankly, we have been doing this, and it has been working.  Cap and Trade legislation is dormant…for now.  ObamaCare has been severely watered down.  Van Jones is gone, Anita Dunn is done.  Kevin Jennings has been exposed, as has ACORN.  Mark Lloyd lies almost every time he opens his mouth.  Copenhagen has been exposed for the fraud that it is, and there is no binding agreement at this time.  All of these are wins, or wins in progress.  We need to keep on doing these things, because they will continue to work.  The left has awakened, as Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto noted (in a slightly different context) the sleeping giant, and has filled it with a terrible resolve.

We don’t have to threaten anyone.  The government and others are aware of the fact that gun and ammo sales have skyrocketed.  They are aware of what we believe.  Just because they dismiss us publicly does not mean that they don’t believe we exist.  They have paid attention to us, and will continue to do so.  If they really thought we were insignificant, they wouldn’t spend so much time attacking us, or have their lapdogs in the media do the same. TR said one thing that is useful (remember that he was a “proto-progressive”), “Speak softly, and carry a big stick.”  We don’t have to threaten or demonstrate force.  They already fear us.  Don’t play into their hands, my friends.

Let’s remember that the left has been working on their plans for decades now.  They thought that Obama was the promised one that would finally deliver their socialist utopia.  Hence, the excitement and blind faith has been placed in this inexperienced and inept former community organizer.  We’re unraveling that dream in months instead of decades.  Just imagine the damage that we could do to the left with majorities in both houses (Majorities that we would help elect, and hold to their promises).

We are nowhere near a stage in which Revolution 2.0 is necessary.  We can still speak.  We still have the ability to vote.  We still have several means by which to communicate our ideas.  No one is being rounded up.  No attempts have been made to disarm us.  No blood has been shed.  The government has acted in ways that we believe to be illegal, or even treasonous, but these are things that can be corrected at the ballot box, should the people subsequently have the will.  Our elected (or unelected) have refused to hear us, and have dismissed our concerns with an air of elitism.  They WILL hear from us in November of 2010.

As Rahm Emanuel has stated, the left is well known for exploiting a crisis.  They either exploit existing ones, or create new ones.  Let’s not give them one wrapped up in a bow.    Keep your powder dry, and we can still win this one with words.

MattI believe that future generations should have the same opportunities that myself, and those that came before me, had. My parents taught me that I could do anything I wanted to do. I don’t want to have to tell my daughter, “You can do whatever the government tells you to do.” We are at a crossroads in this country; are we going to be free, or are we going to be slaves to the nanny state. I choose freedom.

I agree with you that we need to maintain a sense of perspective but to be honest, I am not so sure that our Founding Father’s wouldn’t be calling for Revolution 2.0. If our officials continue to go forward with their dastardly plans, we may find ourselves in a position like our Founding Father’s did. No one wants to go there, but it become a necessity because ‘we the people’ are the only ones who can stop this madness.

      Matt December 23, 2009 at 2:54 am

True, but my basic point is that we aren’t there yet. If it comes, it comes. No one will stop it, but we are still in a position to win this without violence, or the threats that I’ve been seeing lately.

Thanks, as usual Dominique. You always have thoughtful comments. This is an issue that needs to be debated.

  • steve December 23, 2009 at 9:27 am

    Great post Matt!

As much as Hollywood, the mainstream press and some talking heads want portray otherwise America, at our core, is a conservative country. You can see this in it’s playing out in the polls. Obama’s and the Democrats policies are being rejected.

I agree we need to stay focused. We need to offer solid market based conservative economic policies, stand for personal freedom and advocate a strong national defense. These ideas will always resonate with the American people.

We need to remain positive and passionate without come across as shrill. We need to follow the Reagan model.

One last thing, Obama didn’t win in a landslide as the “TV news” and Democrats like to claim. Even with a weak candidate like McCain and a stock market meltdown(the MSM helped fan the flames on that one)leading up to the election, Obama only won by 7% of the popular vote. If there was a shift of around 3.6% in the popular vote, we wouldn’t be fighting this socialist agenda.

    • Matt
      Matt December 23, 2009 at 12:57 pm

      Thank you Steve.

The part of your comment about the 7% is very important to recognize. Even with ACORN out in full force, even with the dead voting, and the black panthers, and God only knows what other tactics the left used, they only won by 7% over a terribly weak candidate.

Given that Obama’s ratings are down by far more than that, that his policies are uniformly leading to fail, and that people are moving to the right in droves, we have 2010 in good hands, provided that the Republicans don’t screw it up.

      • steve December 23, 2009 at 4:07 pm

Exactly. As long as the R’s don’t screw it up.

  • NeoRepublica December 23, 2009 at 11:02 am

Two things… first, while I agree that we are not there yet, we may not be far from “there” if, come 2010, we see the Leftists retain or gain seats. This will mean that our Republic has been hijacked and what we do from there looks like a lose-lose no matter what. Let’s hope that it has not gotten that bad. Regardless, your call for patient is dead-on.

Second, we should be wary that these Leftists might do what Leftists around the world do… they do not simply exploit crises, they actually manufacture them. A Reichstag fire incident will be a game changer and all it takes is a “supposed” lone nut (commie in disguise) trying to take a shot at Hussein, or supposedly “uncovering” some domestic “right-wing” plot against the administration. At the end of the day, even if we are at our best behavior, Leftists acting officially or otherwise can still ascribe some violent act to the “right-wing extremists.” It is worth noting. But again, I am in full agreement… let’s not give ‘em an excuse!

      Matt December 23, 2009 at 1:27 pm

Being far from is may not necessarily be the case, NeoRepublica. Steve’s comment above yours took an angle that I had not considered. I also consider that they have had the Czars in power for almost a year, and their plans for action were written long before, but they haven’t tried to take over the media yet. They haven’t instituted a “one child” policy, or any of the other drek they support. I think they are afraid of us, and of what we will do if they start taking freedoms. They should be. That’s the way it’s supposed to be!

I did mention the created crisis in the post. I wanted to say more on this, but it was long enough already. Fabricating a “plot” is another reason that the MSM is controlled at this point. They will report the “story” daily, dutifully, and fully. What they cannot find, they will make up.

I also get concerned with agents provocateur. And no, I don’t mean the Foreigner album in the 80′s. I mean the people that join a movement to prompt it to do radical things. If you have a member that is advocating violence, or making threats, you may have one in your midst. They’re a major psyop tool, and it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if they are some in place as we speak. That, and there was a saying in the 90′s, “If you want to meet a FBI agent, join a militia.” That’s not to say that I disagree with their existence, it’s just that they have to vet their members as well as they can.

  • Jackie Durkee December 23, 2009 at 11:49 am

Let us also not forget to pray. If you are a Christian, then you know that God is mightier than any of those on the left and prayer is powerful. Yes, we need to stay vocal and do all the things you suggest, but also spend time on your knees. I truly believe that the mess in Copenhagen is an to prayer. We can see change here to, if we exercise a little faith.

Like you I don’t believe it is time for revolution. As long as we still have freedom of speech and freedom of the press, we can use our words and our logic. I also believe to defeat the left in the 2010 and 2012 elections, we need feet on the ground getting conservatives to the polls. ACORN got a lot of Obama supporters to the polls in 2008 and we need to do the same (without the corruption) for the conservatives.

Thanks for the post. I’ll be sending it to everyone I know.

      Matt December 23, 2009 at 1:29 pm

Well said Jackie. You give a sense of perspective here.

  • LD Jackson December 23, 2009 at 1:30 pm

You have penned a masterpiece, Matt. Very well laid out and very thoughtful.

I have noticed that even though liberals had a firefight nearly every day against George W. Bush, conservatives are not allowed to fight fire with fire. I go out of my way to make sure I keep an even and measured tone on Political Realities and sometimes I still get in trouble. Every word we say and every action we take is carefully scrutinized and we are never given the benefit of the doubt.

We need to be very careful about how we go about fighting this fight. As you point out, we are winning and we need not go off on a tangent or off the deep end and remove the credibility we are beginning to earn from the American people.

    • Matt
      Matt December 23, 2009 at 7:50 pm

Thanks LD, for the kind words. The leftists get a pass on vandalism, violence, thuggery, and assorted disruptions, and we get called to the mat for rhetoric. You are correct that we are being scrutinized.

      Thanks again for the comment.

  • Snarky Basterd December 23, 2009 at 5:45 pm

It’s okay to be bloody angry. Let it burn in you. Let it harden your resolve. Use it to carry on and maintain your focus. Keep it close and keep it ready for when you need it, for when it will be your time to have your voice heard. Then scream so loudly (with your finger in the voting booth) that Socialists be shocked when the 7 p.m. newscasts declare them extinct.

As for the rumors of Obama using the military against us, everyone needs to understand that veterans, active duty military, and police take an oath to defend the Constitution, NOT any commander in chief.

If you think otherwise, you need to read what we will NOT obey: http://oathkeepers.org/oath/2009/03/03/declaration-of-orders-we-will-not-obey/

    • Matt
      Matt December 23, 2009 at 7:59 pm

You are right, anger can be a motivator-no question about that. I love that scenario. Actually, I might the expression on the media talking heads even more. Will they cry, will they hang themselves on the set, disembowel themselves…who knows!

I did something on the Oath Keepers a month or two ago. Actually exchanged comments with a couple on Western Front America. Good people. However, the warning in the post is good, because if some whack-job takes out a few soldiers or cops, all bets might be off.

  • Karen Howes December 23, 2009 at 6:01 pm

Matt, you’re right… we need to be angry, yes, because anger moves us to act against these statists. But we can’t let it get out of control, because then we WILL sabotage ourselves.

    Excellent post.

    • Matt
      Matt December 23, 2009 at 8:01 pm

      Thanks Karen, and Merry Christmas!

  • Ron Russell December 23, 2009 at 6:44 pm

Great post. As the founding fathers were signed the Declaration, many were saying, its not the time, lets give the king another chance. There will always be voices calling for restraint no matter how dark the days may be. The question will remain—when is the time, when has the line been crossed and good men will continue to disagree. If however, things continue at some point the line will be crossed and the trust will be broken and with that the binding ties will be severed.

    • Matt
      Matt December 23, 2009 at 8:10 pm

Ron, at no point do I suggest that we give Pelosi, Obama, Reid, or the others any type of chance. I suggest that we remove them from power by the means left to us by the Founders. Every bit of data that we have show the people turning on them and their polices. The more the people see what Obama is, they more they dislike it. We hang in until next November, throw the goons in the Congress out, and get to work. Then, in 2012, we send Obama out. When we still have a legal and Constitutional means to remove them, we have no need to take other actions.

  • Ken Minor December 23, 2009 at 7:05 pm

Matt, you draw attention to what I also believe to be a rising tide in America. How we should respond is a slippery question. The political and peaceful choice should be primary on everyones mind until there is no hope. Hope for everyone is as personal as religion and equally difficult to control in others. I hope the November elections are the beginning of the answer. They could be. Who knows. I never thought I would ever have to question my government like I now do. I never expected to have congress so out of control that most people want to scrap the lot of them and begin again. Sadly, I am not convinced that we have seen the worst of it.

It is true that the libs want to make us out to be a viscious mob. There efforts are in fact to produce that and to divide us. What is most important is that we remain united. If it be peacful, let it be peaceful. If it be Revolution 2.0 let that be as well. Let it all be under prayerful consideration and with absolute confidence and conviction. Surely you are seeing these things. Surely they trouble you. It should. May God grant us the wisdom and leadership to guide us. If He is with us, who can be against us?

    • Matt
      Matt December 23, 2009 at 9:05 pm

Very well said Ken. We have to remain united, whatever comes our way. I have spent a great deal of thinking on this matter, weighing the benefits, the chances of success, probable reaction and outcomes to many options. It’s taken me very nearly three weeks to write this. Following our Constitution is the path at this point. Circumstances may change, and unknown variables may emerge. Through it all, we have to hang together, or, as Franklin said, “we will surely hang separately.”

  • Matt
    Don December 23, 2009 at 9:55 pm

Great piece, Matt. As usual, you have a great grasp of the subject. I hadn’t heard about El Presidente mobilizing troops against us, but I wouldn’t put it past him.

The point you make is viable, we aren’t being carried off to Gulags as of yet, so lets do what the left does best – use the rules against them. We have got to not only vote in 10 and 12, but we MUST bring 5 or 6 people with us to vote. We need to be the Paul Reveres of our age.

    • Matt
      Matt December 23, 2009 at 11:00 pm

Thanks Don, Much appreciated. Let’s bring a bunch of people, as long as they’re registered (AND LEGAL), after all, we’re not ACORN!

  • theCL December 24, 2009 at 2:03 am

Revolution … We need a revolution and I think it’s brewing … but I think it’ll be a peaceful revolution. Honestly, I’m not worried about political violence.

I report a lot of “doom and gloom.” I reported the Obama civil war story too. The “doom and gloom” I speak of is a dollar collapse, a Greater Depression and tyrannical government. But I don’t consider it “doom and gloom,” because you can’t think your way around the laws of economics. What is, is.

If the dollar looses 3/4 of its purchasing power, anything can happen. Anything! Those who are prepared can keep a cool head. I’m not vouching for it, but don’t think every story like that is a set-up. It’s also true that for the first time in our history we have a standing military brigade stationed inside our borders. Thomas Jefferson just threw up in his mouth.

Look at the increasing militarization of the police. Hey, I’m not drawing any conclusions or putting on my tin-foil hat, but why? What are they preparing for? The police don’t need tanks, so why do they have them?

    Never trust the government.

But overall I completely agree Matt. Let the left push, prod and use force. I know the Tea Party events I’ve attended were the exact opposite – friendly, inviting, fun, people having a good time. That’s how you win!

One more thing … The people in Washington are a bunch of tyrants and deserve to be called out as such, but your next-door neighbor who votes Democrat isn’t trying to dictate your life and steal your wealth. It’s the politicians, government and ideas. Not your neighbor. So we should always try to find common ground instead of partisan bickering in our daily political run-ins.

You know … “Forgive them father, for they know not what they do.”

    Great stuff Matt!

    • Matt
      Matt December 24, 2009 at 2:38 am

Thanks CL, There is much to come, that much is certain. You make a great suggesting regarding our friends and neighbors. We all want the country to do well. It is the government, and those that directly support and facilitate their treachery that are enemies of us all. We can remove them in a peaceful manner. If there must be violence, and I pray there is not, let them start it. History will remember. It always does.
