Remember late 2009 and earlier this year?  Remember the record cold and snow that affected large areas of the Northern Hemisphere?  Remember how the AGW crowd tried to spin it?  Remember how they tried to convince us that the cold and snow was because of AGW?  Well, we’ll have to be prepared for more spin for the summer, as Accuweather just released their Hurricane forcast for 2010.

AccuWeather.com Hurricane Center meteorologists, led by Chief Long-Range Meteorologist and Hurricane Forecaster Joe Bastardi, have released their early hurricane season forecast for the Atlantic Basin for 2010.

The forecast is calling for a much more active 2010 season with above-normal threats on the U.S. coastline.

“This year has the chance to be an extreme season,” said Bastardi. “It is certainly much more like 2008 than 2009 as far as the overall threat to the United States’ East and Gulf coasts.”

Bastardi is forecasting seven landfalls. Five will be hurricanes and two or three of the hurricanes will be major landfalls for the U.S.

He is calling for 16 to 18 tropical storms in total, 15 of which would be in the western Atlantic or Gulf of Mexico and therefore a threat to land.

In a typical season, there are about 11 named storms of which two to three impact the coast of the United States.

There are a number of physical drivers that have Bastardi concerned for this upcoming hurricane season. These include:

-The rapidly weakening El Niño

-Warmer ocean temperatures in the typical Atlantic tropical breeding grounds compared to last year. (Tropical storms draw energy from warm water.)

-Weakening trade winds which reduce the amount of dry air injected into the tropics from Africa

-Higher humidity levels which provides additional upward motion in the air and fuels tropical storm development

WAIT!  There’s something missing here.  Where’s AGW listed as a cause?  The answer is nowhere.  Why?  Because there is no AGW, and it’s not part of the equation.

That, however, will not stop the folks that want  political power and finiacial gain by exploiting the hoax.  After a winter of “hiding the decline,” and trying to blame record cold on AGW, the alarmists really need anything they can get to try and convince the folks that AGW is real.  Then, the folks will be told that all they have to do is give up their freedom and let governmnet control everything.

Remember the official AGW mantra of the left:

If it rains, it’s AGW.

If there’s a drought, it’s AGW.

If it snows, it’s AGW.

If it doesn’t snow, it’s AGW.

If it’s hot, it’s AGW.

If it’s cold, it’s AGW.

Actually, they’ll blame AGW for anything that suits their agenda, including earthquakes, so it doesn’t really matter what the truth is.  We’re dealing with the left here, and for them, the ends always justify the means.

MattI believe that future generations should have the same opportunities that myself, and those that came before me, had. My parents taught me that I could do anything I wanted to do. I don’t want to have to tell my daughter, “You can do whatever the government tells you to do.” We are at a crossroads in this country; are we going to be free, or are we going to be slaves to the nanny state. I choose freedom.

I look forward to the AGW alarmists’ spin. It’ll provide plenty of humorous blogfodder for those days I can’t think of much else to write about. So they aren’t completely worthless.

I hadn’t thought about it that way, but you’re right. I’d be writing about cars or military history is it weren’t for the left.

Al Gore’s ever increasing bank account is because of global climate warming change.

      AGW= Al Gore’s Wealth.

I heard that Obama’s dismal poll numbers are a result of global warming

It’s theorized that this stems from something Bush did.

The Beatles breakup? Now it can be told – AGW! Not Yoko. It was global warming.

      Amazing!

Word is coming out that the last ice age was caused by global climate warming change.

I pay little attention to these long range weather forecast. But you are right in that if we have a big one it will be blamed on global warming—damn they are desperate and need a fix and a big blow could help!

    • Matt March 11, 2010 at 12:19 am

I typically follow Accuweather. Their forecast for this winter was spot on. That, and they’re a strong business. They do a ton of stuff for private companies that we don’t hear about until way later. They get paid because they deliver. That, and Joe Bastardi is against AGW.

This is the weather forecasting service I rely on. So far it has been 100% accurate.

I am speechless due to laughter.

  • John Carey March 11, 2010 at 1:24 am

It has become laughable Matt. I mean they really don’t have a leg to stand on anymore and they just keep coming. It is to the point where it is not just plain embarrassing.

    • Matt March 11, 2010 at 8:47 am

The fact that they don’t know when to pack it in makes it easy to disprove them, since they have to get more and more shrill to stay in the game. I want them to embarrass themselves. Let the truth make fools of them, and get ready for the next hoax.

Global warming… Sorry, climate change, has called all this:
