Hey all, looks like I am going to be able to interview a Tea Party organizer from Florida. Not sure when, but soon. What I need though, is input from our readers as to what you would like to see asked. Of course, I know the topics I want to cover, but as always I believe that two heads are better than one…or in this case, many, many heads. So let me know what you think, what you’d like to hear because I am open to all suggestions. I will work the best ones in on my interview, which I will post both here and on my personal blog.

Be creative and thoughtful!

Matt

MattI believe that future generations should have the same opportunities that myself, and those that came before me, had. My parents taught me that I could do anything I wanted to do. I don’t want to have to tell my daughter, “You can do whatever the government tells you to do.” We are at a crossroads in this country; are we going to be free, or are we going to be slaves to the nanny state. I choose freedom.

Consider asking a question to verify that the Tea Party movement does not promote starting a third party -or- promoting third party candidates.

That’s my fear…splitting the conservative vote.

I agree with The Conservative Lady. I think the Tea Party is already doing a fine job of forcing the Republican party to go back to it’s conservative roots. I’m nervous that a 3rd party candidate might emerge in certain elections if there is a candidate running for Congress whose platform may be 90% in tune with the local tea party but not 100%. In my opinion, the most conservative candidate needs to be chosen in a primary. If the most conservative candidate does not win the primary, but someone who is almost as conservative does win, I think we then need to support that candidate who we agree with on 90% of the issues instead of splitting the vote and ensuring that the liberal Democrat wins. The fighting between conservatives needs to be done in a primary, not in an election.

With that said, if the Republican candidate is just as liberal as the Democrat, like what happened in the NY 23rd special election, then I think a 3rd party candidate would be ok. But only in that specific situation when the Republican candidate is no where close to being a conservative.

Here is another question to ask — What is the Tea Parties position on the new liberal Coffee party? Could we possibly see a Tea Party vs. Coffee Party debate in some localities?
