Every now and again, I refer to Obama’s version of our nation as “Amerika.” Given that the ObamaCare abomination has survived it’s first few hurdles, it might be a good time to revisit why I say that.
In 1987, ABC ran a 12 hour miniseries called, “AMERIKA,” chronicling life in an America that was taken over by the Soviet Union. Here is the trailer.
I started looking for clips from it. There aren’t all that many, but this one rings true for modern liberal thought.
All that’s missing is the “mmm, mmm, mmm.”

You know I am a fan of contrasts and this contrasts very well what Obama wants to do with what socialism truly is.

I remember watching chunks of it, but I was a senior is HS, so I probably had other interests at that time.

I must ask, “Did we really win the Cold War? And did we really beat the Fascists?” Because America is more fascist and communistic than ever before … and sliding downhill fast.
I used to warn that the Soviet Union might win the cold war posthumously. Last night, they took a big step in that direction.
I believe the terms “communist” and “fascist” are over used and misapplied. Big Brother is more apt I think. Liberals don’t realize that in places where “the state” runs everything life is miserable while in places where those “evil” corporations are allowed to run freely the standard of living is high, life expectancies are long, and crime is low.
Economically speaking, we’re a corporatist nation. In other words, fascist. Communism is what all collectivist theory is based on.
Socialism, Communism (as done by Lenin), Fascism, and Progressivism all emerged from the pits of Hell around the same time. Many of the initial leaders of these movement were contemporaries, and often had admiration for one another. I think that many of these systems “cross pollinated” each other. hence, our progressives have elements of all the other systems. The worst of all worlds, if you will.
I entitled my current article, “We are a Socialist Nation”. That is what we have become, especially in the last several years. True free market and capitalism has been dead in this country since before 1913 and the progressives on both sides of the aisle have pushed us to a socialist society.

Great find Matt. That kid sounded just like the Obama youth. It amazes me to see liberals refer to the right as modern Nazi. Nazis where socialists that believed government was the answer to all of societies problems. Conservatives are the opposite of Nazis.
That Conservatives has anything to do with fascism is one of the more successful “big lies” of the 20th century. Thanks, and welcome back Trestin.

I am sickened beyond measure. The middle one is something else. I’m not usually at a loss to articulate something,…but I’m speechless.
It is so eerie. It just like the Obama indoctrination videos.
I remember that series, at times it was rather confusing. Hollywood writers seem to have a problem with the script—understandable knowing that most lean left. I sure things will work out on this health care thing. Maybe the courts will strike key sections and they there is an issue of funding next year and if republicans control the House I see some relief there. After all those 16,000 new IRS agents have to be paid.
