Conservative Hideout 2.0

Back in December, we covered the fact that the Obama administration fired the official that initiated the Black Panther Voter intimidation investigation. For a refresher, here are two videos of the original event.

The story has not, however, gone away.  Here is some of the latest from the Washington Examiner.

A trial attorney with the Department of Justice’s Voting Rights Section has resigned, citing concerns about the government’s refusal to prosecute a case involving voter intimidation by the New Black Panther Party. A letter of resignation obtained by The Washington Examiner from a former Justice Department employee makes clear DOJ has refused to allow attorneys in the Voting Rights Section to testify before the congressionally-chartered bipartisan U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, despite subpoenas that could result in their being held in contempt.

In his letter of resignation, J. Christian Adams said:

On the other hand, the events surrounding the dismissal of United States v. New Black Panther Party, et al., after the trial team sought and obtained an entry of default, has subjected me, Mr. Christopher Coates, and potentially at some point, all members of the team, to a subpoena from the United States Commission on Civil Rights. The subpoena is based on an explicit federal statute and seeks answers about why the case was dismissed.

I have incurred significant personal expense in retaining a number of separate attorneys and firms regarding this subpoena in order to protect my interests and advise me about my personal legal obligation to comply with the subpoena. Over the last few months, one of my attorneys has had multiple communications with Federal Programs regarding the subpoena. My attorney suggested to them that the Department should file a motion in district court to quash the subpoena and thereby resolve conclusively any question about my obligation to comply.

Months ago, my attorney advised the Department that a motion to quash would be welcome, and that I would assert no objection to the motion. Further, my attorney has explicitly sought to ascertain whether Executive Privilege has been invoked regarding the decisions of individuals not in the Voting Section to order the dismissal of the case. If Executive Privilege has been asserted, or will be, obviously I would not comply with the subpoena. These options would provide some conclusive legal certainly about the extent of my obligation to comply with a subpoena issued pursuant to a federal statute. Instead, we have been ordered not to comply with the subpoena, citing a federal regulation (emphasis mine).

So, when the US Commission on Civil Rights attempts to investigate the matter, they are thwarted by the administration.  So much for “transparency.”

Well, this is another story that you won’t see in the MSM.  Racial intimidation at a polling place, and the government refuses to investigate it themselves, and fires the person who tried.  Then, when  the Civil Rights Commission tries to initiate an investigation, the administration blocks that too.  Might we assume that the administration condones this activity?  They’ve certainly tried their best to keep it from being investigated.

About Matt

I believe that future generations should have the same opportunities that myself, and those that came before me, had. My parents taught me that I could do anything I wanted to do. I don’t want to have to tell my daughter, “You can do whatever the government tells you to do.” We are at a crossroads in this country; are we going to be free, or are we going to be slaves to the nanny state. I choose freedom.

I thought that this story was over, but it looks like it could be around for awhile. The MSM will not cover it, thankfully people like you have been all over this story.
It is unbelievable to me that the adminstration is thwarting efforts to prosecute voter intimidation and nobody in the MSM thinks this is newsworthy.

I’m afraid that it is believable. When you consider everything that the Dems haven’t touched, like Charles Rangle’s funny money, and everything the MSM has either not covered, or flat out lied about, the pattern emerges.

    Matt,
Barry is so tied to this mess it is beyond understanding. Sadly this group “the New Black Panthers” is under the radar of mainstream America. These people are dangerous. They are getting together in Marietta, Ga and the hatred they will spew will be like nothing ever spoken on this earth.

Their website is in shambles now. Why? I think it is an attempt to hide certain articles. If you go their now you can still apply for membership. They will want to know about your military career, special forces or explosives training, other useful skills and if you are willing to sell your soul to them. Of course they don’t ask outright for your soul. It is implied in their beliefs which you must espouse.

Now, this makes 4 groups that I know of that want the “White Man” eliminated: The New Black Panthers, The Nation of Islam, La Raza, and Black Liberation churches. Surely there are many more. My caution to others is that even if this story goes away, the problem won’t.

With the level of racial hate, it just points out that we are re-living the 1930′s again. The question is, will people of character prevent another Holocaust, or will we relive history yet again?

I hope this story never dies, Matt, and eventually some honest person in the Gov’t will properly investigate it. Obummer should be impeached over this, and all his many other crimes.
Ken, that is a great comment, and also scary!
Try and have a nice weekend, everyone.

We’ll never impeach him. But we can vote him out. I hope the next administration will lift the veil and investigate some of this stuff, but I don’t hold out much hope.

You are doing great work here, Matt. You might be a franchise yet.

I truly fear and hopefully I’m totally wrong and out in left field somewhere, but I have a dread that some type of voter fraud will occur in 2012 that will ensure Obama gets re-elected and then the fraud gets buried somewhere under some other “rug”.

This stuff happening in America is fostering paranoia, and I’ve never been paranoid before. Sometimes is just makes me want to bury my head in the sand again, but then it is kind of like a train wreck and I’m afraid I’ll miss something.

I know what you mean Jackie, I’ve never been one for the “conspiracy theories.” But, with some of this stuff, the evidence is so clear.

I too fear massive voter fraud, both in November, and in 2012. I did publish some stuff about that prior to the election in Massachusetts, I think we’ll be revisiting it in November.
