So, later today, Glenn Beck will hold his Restoring Honor Rally at the Lincoln Memorial. His speakers will include Sarah Palin and Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King.
The event itself is drawing intense fire from the left. The responses at least, are dismissive. At worst, they are smears or the worst kind. My fear is that Beck, Dr. King, and the others are leaving themselves wide open in this event. I think we can all rest assured that there will be infiltrators there, as there have been at many other events. This is complicated by the fact that the Rev. Al Sharpton will be having an event in close proximity. No, I’m not suggesting that Sharpton’s rally will turn violent, but the infiltrators might “harass” them to make the Beck rally look bad. Rest assured that if there are infiltrators throwing the “n word” at people, it’ll happen right in front of the cameras so Think Progress can run it as yet another “example” of Conservative racism. Co-incidence? I think not.
That aside, I watched Beck’s show a bit more this week, and was watching it as I was preparing this post. I’m not one to make statements based on nothing more than a hunch, but I’m getting the gut feeling that some important, and possibly dangerous things are happening.
Consider this an open thread. I’d like everyone’s take on this.

I believe that future generations should have the same opportunities that myself, and those that came before me, had. My parents taught me that I could do anything I wanted to do. I don’t want to have to tell my daughter, “You can do whatever the government tells you to do.” We are at a crossroads in this country; are we going to be free, or are we going to be slaves to the nanny state. I choose freedom.
There is no doubt that there will be infiltraters there, this is the perfect opportunity for them. Hopefully the infiltraters will be exposed as the frauds they are just like they have been every other time they have tried it.
I really don’t think they were looking for them, at least as far as I know. Geraldo had Sharpton on his show, and he had nothing to say on the topic.
We’ll know in a few days if they tried to infiltrate.

The AP reporter who wrote that needs to invest in some new glasses. From what I could tell from watching the live feed, the crowd consisted of people from different backgrounds. There were white, African-American, Native American, Oriental, etc. Leave it to the mainstream media to make something out of nothing. Geesh!!!

The only thing I learned of is that there are some fake maps that led people astray. It certainly shouldn’t surprise us that leftist cockroaches would do that… there’s no low too low for them.

I think that you will see the MSN play down this event, but from everything I saw it was there was a huge showing. I think when the ingredients are God, country, and honor; the only thing the left can use is racism. It’s starting to get very very old.

We’re going to see a lot more of it. They still think they can say it enough that people will eventually believe it.

I hear you, but we really can’t do anything about that. As they saying goes, “you can’t fix stupid.”
The left has to convert or silence everyone. Socialism can’t stand free speech or the free flow of information. Their failure becomes apparent when people can actually talk and share the evidence of those failures. That’s why any leftist regime tries to control media and education.
Since our ideas are based in observable reality, we don’t have to silence our critics. We can win the argument with the majority of the people.
If some want to think we’re racists, let them. They will end up on the ash heap of history anyway.
