Well, the response to the Useful Idiot of the Year Nomination Thread was beyond expectations.  I thank you for all of the fine suggestions, and here are your nominees, and the poll.

Barak Obama: I don’t think that there’s any explanation required.

Nancy Pelosi: “You have to pass it to see what’s in it.”

Harry Reid: Again, no explanation required.

MSNBC: I know that no one watches, but any network that has Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, and Ed Schultz on the payroll simply must be nominated.

Janet Napalitano: AKA, Big Sis.  Whether she’s being a groper apologist, or telling us that the “border has never been so secure,” Janet is a weath of useful idiocy all by herself.

TSA: Speaking of gropers…

Eric Holder: Black Panthers?  What Black Panthers?

Arlen Specter: If memory serves, Arlen was one of the very first Useful Idiots of the Month.  The consummate RINO, Arlen learned what all Useful Idiots do; when you are no longer useful, you will be discarded.  Enjoy your retirement!

Julian Assange: The Wikileaker in chief, and accused rapist, Julian has done all he can to damage this country.  Failing that, he might give the left a crisis, and we all know how much “progessives” like crises.

Barney Frank: No explanation required. His record of useful idiocy speaks for itself.

The People of California: They elected to keep Nancy Pelosi, Babs Boxer, and re-elected Governor Moonbeam.  If you look up, “asking for it” in the dictionary, you will see a map of Califpornia.

Paul Krugman: He’s almost constantly wrong, and he did slip about the death panels, but he get’s an “A” for effort.

Phil Hare: He was caught on video saying that he did not care about the Constitution, so his constituents decided that they did not care about him.  Enjoy your retirement!

Alan Grayson: Congressman Shrek was retired by his constituents as well.  He’s nominated by me as an honorable mention.

Michael Bloomberg: A lover of taxes, and a hater of all things tasty, Emperor Bloomberg is the nanny that runs NYC as his own private nursery.

Donald Berwick: He loves the NHS, and the rationing.  He probably drools over the death panels as well.

Van Jones: He just keeps on working for the revolution.  I think he fancies himself as one of the leaders of the “future communist state.”

The Progressive States Network: This is a group that was covered extensively by the VRWC at the Resistance. There are many links about them on the Resource Page. Look at it this way, they are working at the state level to install socialism/failure at the state level.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Matt

MattI believe that future generations should have the same opportunities that myself, and those that came before me, had. My parents taught me that I could do anything I wanted to do. I don’t want to have to tell my daughter, “You can do whatever the government tells you to do.” We are at a crossroads in this country; are we going to be free, or are we going to be slaves to the nanny state. I choose freedom.

maybe there could be some kind of group award, you know, where nobody loses?

    • Mark December 29, 2010 at 8:21 pm

      Hahahaha!!!
      Thats funny right there…
I second this motion. Their all socialists anyway, I don’t think they’ll mind “sharing the wealth.”
      hehe…

Sorry guys, no can do. You see, when the left wants to redistribute, or ban stuff, it only applies to us. Case in point; the Goracle wants us to sacrifice and live a 19h century lifestyle. However, he gets to keep his mansions and private jets. Another one is Rosie O’Donnell. Remember that she wanted to ban guns, but then had private and ARMED security for her family?

  • Steve Dennis December 27, 2010 at 7:37 am

I still had to go with Barack Obama, he is the one to blame for everything that is going on, and he is the one that spurred on the Tea Party. He is useful because as long as he is in power the Tea Party will be strong and alert!

  • Always On Watch December 27, 2010 at 8:55 am

OK, this was a tough call. I needed to vote for more than one nominee.

But I did make my choice after much consideration. Well, as much consideration as these loons deserve.

I’m going w/Kalifornia because when we go bust we’re taking everybody down with us!

  • innominatus December 27, 2010 at 1:39 pm

Picking just one from this list is like trying to eat only one Dorito when there’s a full bag of them in your lap.

  • Teresa December 27, 2010 at 2:47 pm

I chose Nancy Pelosi because without someone as powerful and manipulative as her being Speaker of the House I doubt that health care and the rest of the garbage would have been rammed through Congress.

    This will be tough!

  • Bunni December 27, 2010 at 9:24 pm

Hi Matt! This is a tough one. Of course it goes w/out saying that odumbo is lst and foremost the biggest useful idiot ever, and I was going to vote for him….but I picked Julian of Wikileaks because now they have an useful idiot to blame when then shut down the internet and further restrict our freedom of speech.

But again, there can be no argument that obummer is the world’s biggest idiot, and other things I won’t say, because it is the Christmas season ;-)

Thanks Bunni. I know it’s hard. I even had a rough time filling out the rest of the nominees. The readers did the majority, but I thought we needed more.

  • JINGOIST December 28, 2010 at 7:59 am

Far too many of these aren’t “useful idiots” at all. They are dedicated, fire-breathing radicals who couldn’t give two shiites whether or not they’re causing severe, long-term damage.

That’s why I chose the DOLTS in CA. I’m painting with a broad brush for sure because I’m letting the majority Democrat vote speak for the state as a whole. The FOOLS voted for the same kleptocrats who put them into this HORRENDOUS bind!!! The state is in a death spiral that can only end in bankruptcy…and what do they do?

Vote for Jerry Brown and their two Dem senators! Brilliant Cali! Brilliant!

      Matt December 29, 2010 at 1:47 am

Thanks for the comments. I do disagree with the characterization that many are not useful idiots. As long as they advance the cause, I think it qualifies them.

On the other hand, I fully support your vote for the people of Calipornia. They are going to get exactly what they deserve. Failure heaped upon failure. Sadly, Obama will likely bail them out, and they will learn nothing. The unions and nanny statists can continue unabated.

  • Bunkerville December 28, 2010 at 9:29 am

This is where the Dems concept of voting would work best.. Vote early and often!

  • Trestin Meacham December 28, 2010 at 11:49 am

I’ve got to go with BO

  • Reaganite Republican December 28, 2010 at 3:31 pm

I voted for Obama, hard to rival his impact lol

And he’s also as “willing” a useful idiot as there’s ever been… he really revels in being a revolutionary tool apparently, Uncle Frank would be so proud

  • Maggie@MaggiesNotebook December 29, 2010 at 1:26 am

Definitely a tough choice. I chose MSNBC because of their full slate of idiots and their waning but rabidly devoted followers.

Without MSNBC, it would have been harder to vote for Obama.

My second choice is Pelosi. Without her, Obama may not have been able to get the abusive legislation he got.

Any pick is a good one. I agree with all of the choices here.

Julian has done all he can to damage this country

Wait a minute … Julian damaged this country? Or was it the perpetrators of the crimes he exposed who damaged this country?

Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY has done more damage to our country, in my lifetime, than the criminal cabal we call a federal government in Washington DC. Sorry my friends, but the government does not define America, and is significantly more tyrannical than King George III.

Anyways … I voted for the dolts in CA too.

Whoa bro. I said he did all he could, I didn’t say he was successful. I’ll get to part two of my media control post in a day or two. I’ll make it all clear then.

Excellent, excellent post! I chose Michael Bloomberg for spending so much time fighting for the Ground zero victory rabat, anti-smoking, anti-food that tastes good crusades that he completely forgot about governing and let a run of the mill snowstorm cripple the City and caused people to die.
But all nominees are well worth the award as each sucks supremely in their own special way. Tough choices, indeed!
