Isn’t it interesting that the movement that purports to be all about free speech and democracy tends to limit the free speech of others? Well, it seems that #Occupy, and specifically, Occupy DC, plan to disrupt CPAC. The most influential Conservative gathering in the US, CPAC attracts all of the big names in the Conservative world. Presidential candidates, pundits, media, bloggers, and the like will descend on DC this week. And, the Occupods will be there to greet them. Here is more from the Washington Examiner…

On February 9th through February 11th, a who’s who of dastardly politicians will be holding the Conservative Political Action Conference at the Marriot Wardman Park Hotel at 2660 Woodley Road, NW. Similar to the Alfalfa Club dinner, this event is another gathering of bigots, media mouthpieces, corrupt politicians, and their 1 percent elite puppet masters.
CPAC will parade and attempt to perpetuate the radical right wing’s imperialist ideologies with keynote speakers, movies and banquets dedicated to pursuing its racist, sexist, patriarchal and exploitative agenda.
Spectacles will include imperialist topics such as “From Fidel to Chavez: How Do We Stop the Resurgence of Socialism in Latin America?”, “Is the ‘Arab Spring’ Good or Bad for America?” and frequent bloviation on “American exceptionalism.” Openly racist discourses will be given on “The Failure of Multiculturalism: How the pursuit of diversity is weakening the American Identity” and “Islamic Law in America: How the Obama Justice Department Is Selling Us Out.” The conference will also glorify the role of money in politics in talks such as “How to Raise Money… the Easy Way,” “Citizens United Productions Hosts Blogger Briefing” and “Fundraising Secrets from the Billion $ Man.”
Our Mission: Occupy CPAC. Create as much non-violent resistance as possible, and make this a conference the attendees will never forget.
We will be joining in solidarity with the AFL-CIO, SEIU, National Nurses United, Metro Labor Council, OurDC, and more to make our voices heard in our increasingly top-down, money-corrupted democracy. We will have actions on Friday at noon and 5pm (for Scott Walker’s speech at the Reagan Banquet), and on Saturday we will meet at Malcolm X Park at 16th and Euclid at noon to march to the Marriott.

I’m attending the Conservative Political Action Conference in DC this week. It looks like I’m in for a show:
During a Thursday meeting at McPherson Square, until Saturday the epicenter of the protests, Occupiers brainstormed tactics for shutting down or disrupting the conference, according to a source who was present at the meeting.
The protesters suggested pulling fire alarms in the hotel where the conference will take place, screaming “fire” during conference activities, “glitter-bombing” participants, cutting electrical power, and barricading entrances to the hotel, according to the source, who requested anonymity.
“Speakers will be physically assaulted, not just verbally confronted,” the source told Scribe in an email. Two Occupiers, who the source also identified as members of the New Black Panther Party, “said they would be disappointed if they didn’t get arrested and planned to ‘make it count.’”
The source quoted another protester as saying, “Mitt [Romney] has Secret Service now, but [Newt] Gingrich and [Andrew] Breitbart don’t,” seemingly suggesting that the latter two would not be as heavily guarded.
Labor Union Report is noting that the union goons plan on having a presence as well.
Apparently, the unions plans to attempt to disrupt the conference with rats, puppets, and more:

There is also a Facebook page for Occupy CPAC, posted by Change to Win staffer, Trina Tocco. It is important to note that Change to Win is the SEIU-led federation that broke away from the AFL-CIO in 2005—which means both union federations are involved in planning the attacks on CPAC.
I wonder if the occupods realize that any attacks on CPAC will be thoroughly recorded and posted? And, it won’t matter a bit if the MSM won’t cover it. Millions of people that read blogs, watch videos on YouTube, and view FOX will get to see multiple examples of union violence, occupod vandalism, and basic moonbattery. The attendees aren’t going to back down, and we’ll see some great footage of that as well. The more both union thugs and occupods engage in their typical petulant child/intimidation tactics, the more it is recorded, and the more it is exposed. It will fail, and we bloggers will have a wealth of source material.
In other words, just bring it. We’ll only be stronger when the smoke clears.
I’ve attended CPAC in the past and have also recommended that my students attend.
I wasn’t planning to attend this year even before I read this post.
Of course, parents aren’t willing to take their children to CPAC is Occupier disruption is going on.
I’m sure that other groups feel the same way. So, the Occupiers have indeed already disrupted CPAC.
You have a point, but your comment reminds me of how one occupy DC occupod used her child as a human shield. So, there might be kids there after all.

Do the OWS people not realize that most conservative are packing? Maybe not in DC where it is virtually impossible to do so, but most conservatives will defend themselves and know how to defend themselves.
