Chik-Fil-A Being Punished for Being Christian, Just as Predicted

Last November, I predicted that Chik-Fil-A would eventually be punished for their Christian beliefs.  Apparently, it is now time for the punishment to begin.  First up, they have lost the Muppets….

However, on Friday, the Jim Henson Company posted  the following statement to their Facebook page :

The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over fifty years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors. Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-Fil-A to GLAAD. (http://www.glaad.org/ )

With this, The Jim Henson Company joins the ranks of Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, who has vowed to block Chick-fil-A from opening a restaurant in the city, office star Ed Helms  who tweeted  that the chain had “lost a loyal fan,” and the countless individuals who have taken to social media  to voice disapproval, including those planning a National Same Sex Kiss Day  on August 3, in condemning the Chick-Fil-A’s CEO’s opposition to same sex marriage.

 

Now, officials from that bastion of tolerance and diversity, Chicago, has chimed in as well…

“If you are discriminating against a segment of the community, I don’t want you in the 1st Ward,” Ald. Proco “Joe” Moreno told the Chicago Tribune on Tuesday, referring to what he said were “bigoted, homophobic comments” from Cathy.

Whoa, whoa, pump the breaks there, “Joe.” Let’s rewind a bit and see what Cathy actually said: “We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.”

Cathy also said the following [via Ken Coleman Show]:

I think we‘re inviting God’s judgment when we shake our fist at him, you know? “We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.”

And I pray on God’s mercy on our generation, that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we would have the audacity to try and redefine what marriage is all about.

“Because of this man’s ignorance, I will now be denying Chick-fil-A’s permit to open a restaurant in the 1st Ward,” said the alderman.

OK then, because Chik-Fil-A’s CEO believes in the Bible, they can be banned?  Is it just me, or does it seem that there is great grounds for a religious discrimination suit here?  And, if there is a single business owned by a Muslim in the 1st Ward, is that a equal protection suit as well?   As we all know, the Koran calls for the stoning of homosexuals, and it is common practice in Islamic nations.  So, can they ban one business for religious beliefs, but allow another?

In  the most basic sense, as a Christian, I know this kind of thing is going to happen.  In fact, the Bible predicts it…

“Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man.

Luke Chapter Six, Verse 22

In a political sense, it is a common theme for the left, or any totalitarian system.  In such systems, dissent is outlawed.  For people that call for tolerance, they certainly do not tolerate any opinion but their own.  It’s the Alinsky Method; demonize any dissent, so it should be predictable.  And, we should expect more and more of it.
