David Mamet may not be a household name, but if any of you are fans of The 
Unit, then you are a fan of Mamet’s. He is the playwright behind the CBS series.
Have Gun – Will Travel was a TV western that aired from 1957 to 1963 
starring Richard Boone. HGWT was a groundbreaking television western in that it wasn’t filmed on Paramount’s backlot. Rather, the show was filmed on location and beginning in the fourth season, the locations were actually listed in the closing credits.
I know you are wondering what these two have in common. Well Mamet is bringing back Have Gun – Will Travel and without further details, all I can say is that I look forward to it. I am also hoping that since Mamet “came out” as a Conservative, the writing on HGWT will reflect his ideology.
