Gun Control by Default: Make Them too Expensive to Own

I’ve often noted that while liberal love to ban things, like guns, God, the Bible, large soda’s, and salt shakers. They are just as apt to make the targeted item so expensive that that only a few people can afford them.  Typically, the people able to afford said items will be themselves, and their donors/supporters.  Of course, de-facto gun control could be achieved by that same means.  For the latest example of that, let’s go to Gateway Pundit…

A bill proposed by New York Democrat Felix Ortiz will force gun owners to carry one million dollars in liability insurance.
Guns Save Lives reported:

From Examiner.com, A bill was introduced in the State Assembly by Felix Ortiz (D-Brooklyn) that would require citizens of New York to acquire liability insurance as a condition to gun ownership.

Bill S2353 will require all gun owners in NY to obtain and “continuously maintain” insurance coverage of at least $1 million, or they will suffer “immediate revocation of such owner’s registration, license and any other privilege to own” a firearm.

If the citizen fails to obtain the insurance, then by simply owning the firearm, they will be in violation of the law.

It is estimated that the required $1 million liability policy would cost a holder $1600-2000 annually.

If the bill is passed, gun owners will have 30 days to get the insurance.

Jim Hoft, who still hasn’t linked this site, has more, including the actual text of the bill.

Of course, this has nothing to do with crime, mass shootings, or has any actual value, other than to punish law abiding gun owners, and prevent many of them from being able to afford a firearm.  Then again, gun control has nothing to do with crime-it has everything to do with control.

Then the EPA will ban lead bullets to protect the environment. But, the Second Amendment will not be touched.

    Well……Bless you heart…..

Don’tcha know they’re already working on that?

Congress made the law that exempts ammo from lead restrictions, but when has this administration ever worried about what Congress says? The only reason they haven’t so far is because of pushback from gun support groups and the firearms and ammo industries.

This is an all out war on the 2nd, well funded, coordinated, and planned. I believe it’s going to get worse before it gets better. IF it ever gets better that is!
