It’s amazing what we learn when we start paying attention to what’s been going on in our children’s public schools now that the Progressives have almost completely taken over those institutions. Outrage has been growing since it was revealed that a high school English teacher in New York decided to give her 10th grade students a peculiar “creative writing” exercise: They were supposed to pretend that they were low-level Nazi functionaries who, in order to convince an official that they were loyal, had to research Nazi propaganda and then write a paper arguing “that Jews are evil.”
According to the school district, the teacher wasn’t evil, just misguided. Superintendent Marguerite Vanden Wyngaard told the local Albany Times Union “I don’t believe there was malice or intent to cause any insensitivities to our families of Jewish faith.” No matter the teacher’s probable motives, the assignment was so insensitive on its face that fully a third of the 10th graders refused to cooperate with an assignment that told them that “You must argue that Jews are evil, and use solid rationale from government propaganda to convince me of your loyalty to the Third Reich!”
The linked article has more. This strikes me as being an example of subtly placing ideas in the soft heads of children. The messages here seem to be going along with government propaganda, and well and typical leftist anti-Semitism. Of course, this is education in the age of Obama.
