87 Year-old Lawrence E. “Shine” Thorton, a native of Greenville Mississippi, dealt with the loss of his last job in typical American fashion, he started his own business, selling his home made tamales, making him a local celebrity, of sorts.
Sadly, Mr. Thorton’s American dream came to an end when he was mugged by four black teens, and eventually succumbed to the injuries received dung that robbery. Sadly, racial violence brought Mr. Thorton to his end.
But last week the 87 year-old veteran was mugged and murdered in his driveway.
Four black teens were later charged with capital murder in the fatal mugging.
The Sun Herald reported:
Four people have been charged with capital murder in the fatal mugging of 87-year-old Lawrence E. ‘Shine’ Thornton of Greenville.
Assistant police chief Andrew Kaho tells the Delta Democrat Times (http://bit.ly/18becqu ) that Terrance Morgan and Edward Johnson, both 19; and Leslie Litt and Geblonski Murray, both 18, were arrested Monday. Kaho says each of the four is also charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
They are being held without bond in the Washington County jail pending an initial court appearance.
Of course, Mr. Thorton would never been heard of outside of the local press, if it were not for blogs and other sources that discuss these crimes. No one will be having marches and demands for justice. He will be forgotten by the mainstream media, who in their cowardice, refuse to tell the truth.
Our condolences to the Thorton family, and our thanks to Mr. Thorton for his service to our country.
