Who said that our kids are getting dumber? Sure, Common Core may have made a simple long division problem more complex than flying a Cessna, but this young student seems to have a bright career ahead of him in political science.
Jaden R. was asked a few questions about the president on this simple test. He answered the first two perfectly, and the third one epically.
“What is a president?” read the first question. “A president is a leader.” (Well, not so much these days, but we’ll give him points for getting the general concept.)
Then he was asked the name of president, to which he answered “Mr. Barack Obama.” So far, so good.
However, then came the coup de grace: “What is one thing the president does?” Jaden couldn’t have answered this one any better.

Of course, when we were kids, we had it pretty easy. When I was Jaden’s age, it was probably the late Reagan years or the early Bush years. Those were respectable leaders. Imagine how kids growing up nowadays must view the president.
At least Jaden knows what the president now is good for: excuses.
