Editor’s Note: The staff and owners of Conservative Hideout 2.0 have nothing but the utmost respect for Law Enforcement Officers, First Responders, Firefighters and the Military. We understand that the vast majority of police take up that calling to serve their fellow man and to try and make their corner of the world a better place.
However when one of the boys in blue over-reaches the bounds of his/her authority as laid out in our United States Constitution, they make the rest of the LEOs look bad. Further, when video evidence of that crosses our desk here at CH2.0, we show it in hopes that shedding light on bad behavior will help to correct it, in the long run.
Be warned, the video shown below is not safe for work, or to be viewed around little ones with big ears.
Yesterday police were contacted in regard to a video posted online which appeared to show an inappropriate interaction between an on-duty member of the Sheriff’s Office and a civilian, resulting from a suspicious vehicle complaint in the Town of Halfmoon.
The Sheriff’s Office has identified and interviewed all parties involved in the interaction and as a result, the police officer has been suspended without pay effective immediately, pending the outcome of the investigation and possible disciplinary action.

The Sheriff’s Office takes matters such as this very seriously and does not in any way condone anything less than professional behavior from our members. Sheriff’s wish to thank the members of the community who brought this to light and cooperated fully with the investigation.
At this time, this is an internal personnel investigation as there is no criminal complaint from the involved civilian. No additional information will be released until the investigation is concluded.

Militarization of our police forces has been a hot topic off and on. It became a very hot topic after the Fergusun, Missouri fiasco and, as a result, the federal government has initiated another “investigation” into to their own role in supplying military equipment to police forces around the country. Interestingly, the negative reaction has come from both the sides of the political spectrum.
I’m wondering why we haven’t seen this same bipartisan outrage over the militarization of our public schools? You’re not aware that public schools are also being militarized? Maybe that’s because the story is being under reported by President Obama’s propaganda machine, also known as the main stream media. Had this happened under a Republican president, the MSM talking heads wouldn’t stop attacking that president.
Well, the Wall Street Journal did run the story. Access to the article requires you have a subscription, which Asylum Watch doesn’t have. However, Zero Hedge does and they did quote the WSJ story. Allow me share a few:
A federal program that has drawn criticism in recent weeks for supplying surplus military gear to local police has also provided high-powered rifles, armored vehicles and other equipment to police at public schools, some of whom were unprepared for what they were getting.
What “other” equipment might they be unprepared for using?
The Los Angeles Unified School District stocked up on grenade launchers, M16 rifles and even a multi-ton armored vehicle from the program. But the district is getting rid of the grenade launchers, which it never intended to use to launch grenades or use in a school setting, said Steven Zipperman, chief of the Los Angeles Schools Police Department. The launchers, received in 2001, might have helped other police in the county disperse crowds by shooting rubber munitions, he said.
Well, that’s a relief. They intend to get rid of the grenade launchers. They will give to the county please, who, if needed, can be called-in to fire rubber munitions. What were these people thinking in the first place? Oh! They decided to keep one of these:
In July, the district received a massive MRAP armored vehicle. Mr. Zipperman said his department thought it could be useful for evacuations and to save lives in a “sustained incident.”
Some parents choose to send their children to military academies. Mos, however, do not.
Less you think L.A. is the only case public schools being militarized, the WSJ has more to report.
In Texas, near the Mexican border, the sprawling Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District has 34,700 students and operates its own SWAT team, thanks in part to military gear it received in recent years from the federal program. The gear included two Humvees and a cargo truck, as well as power generators, said district Police Chief Ricardo Perez. The district applied for weapons, too, but wasn’t given any, so instead purchased its own M4 and AR-15 assault-style rifles, he said.
The weapons are given to schools through the 1033 Program, created by Congress in the early 1990s to allow law-enforcement agencies to obtain excess Defense Department supplies, paying only for shipping. The program has transferred $5.1 billion in items, including $4.5 million worth in 2013.
Among recipients are more than a dozen school police departments, according to a spreadsheet from the Defense Logistics Agency, which runs the program. But for security reasons the list excludes districts that received only “tactical” gear such as weapons, as opposed to other types of supplies. That means the list likely understates the number of districts that participated.
Following the killing of twenty children and six staff at the Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 12, 2012, by Adam Lanza, the debate over gun control raged for weeks, if not months. Those on the Right argued that if the school’s Principle and/or the security guard had been armed, maybe some of those children would not have died that terrible day. Those on the Left, of course, argued that all guns should be banned.
So, where is the outrage from the Left over the militarization of our public schools? Or, is it just the citizens they want to disarm?
Well, that’s what I’m thinking. What are your thoughts?
The Obama administration has put in place a plan authorizing the use of Military force against United States Citizens. Presidential Directive No. 3025.18, “Defense Support of Civil Authorities,” was issued Dec. 29, 2010, and states that U.S. commanders “are provided emergency authority under this directive.”
A 2010 Pentagon directive on military support to civilian authorities details what critics say is a troubling policy that envisions the Obama administration’s potential use of military force against Americans.
The directive contains noncontroversial provisions on support to civilian fire and emergency services, special events and the domestic use of the Army Corps of Engineers.
The troubling aspect of the directive outlines presidential authority for the use of military arms and forces, including unarmed drones, in operations against domestic unrest.
“This appears to be the latest step in the administration’s decision to use force within the United States against its citizens,” said a defense official opposed to the directive.
Also written into the directive is the framework for federal authorities to act WITHOUT Presidential approval.
“Federal military forces shall not be used to quell civil disturbances unless specifically authorized by the president in accordance with applicable law or permitted under emergency authority,” the directive states.
“In these circumstances, those federal military commanders have the authority, in extraordinary emergency circumstances where prior authorization by the president is impossible and duly constituted local authorities are unable to control the situation, to engage temporarily in activities that are necessary to quell large-scale, unexpected civil disturbances” under two conditions.
The conditions include military support needed “to prevent significant loss of life or wanton destruction of property and are necessary to restore governmental function and public order.” A second use is when federal, state and local authorities “are unable or decline to provide adequate protection for federal property or federal governmental functions.”
“Federal action, including the use of federal military forces, is authorized when necessary to protect the federal property or functions,” the directive states.
Military assistance can include loans of arms, ammunition, vessels and aircraft. The directive states clearly that it is for engaging civilians during times of unrest.
In case you think this is just a contingency plan put in place to be ready for possible future terrorist attacks, think again. Obama considered implementing this during the Bundy Ranch standoff.
A U.S. official said the Obama administration considered but rejected deploying military force under the directive during the recent standoff with Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and his armed supporters.
Mr. Bundy is engaged in a legal battle with the federal Bureau of Land Management over unpaid grazing fees. Along with a group of protesters, Mr. Bundy in April confronted federal and local authorities in a standoff that ended when the authorities backed down.
The only bright side to this tyrannical directive is that it prohibits the use of weaponized aerial drones.
The Pentagon directive authorizes the secretary of defense to approve the use of unarmed drones in domestic unrest. But it bans the use of missile-firing unmanned aircraft.
“Use of armed [unmanned aircraft systems] is not authorized,” the directive says.
The directive was signed by then-Deputy Defense Secretary William J. Lynn. A copy can be found on the Pentagon website: http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/corres/pdf/302518p.pdf.
This leaves one to wonder about all the alphabet agencies within the federal government developing and maintaining their own SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) teams since Obama took office.
Defense analysts say there has been a buildup of military units within non-security-related federal agencies, notably the creation of Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams. The buildup has raised questions about whether the Obama administration is undermining civil liberties under the guise of counterterrorism and counternarcotics efforts.
Other agencies with SWAT teams reportedly include the Department of Agriculture, the Railroad Retirement Board, the Tennessee Valley Authority, the Office of Personnel Management, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Education Department.
The militarization of federal agencies, under little-known statues that permit deputization of security officials, comes as the White House has launched verbal attacks on private citizens’ ownership of firearms despite the fact that most gun owners are law-abiding citizens.
A White House National Security Council spokeswoman declined to comment.
Scorpions’ drummer, 51 year old James Kottak was arrested on April 3rd of this year for “insulting Islam” and “drinking alcohol without a license.” The charges stem from an incident in the Dubai Airport, in which Mr. Kottak got lost and vented his frustrations in, well shall we say a very non-PC manner.
[A]ccording to The National, he drank five glasses of wine on a flight from Moscow to Dubai (which is roughly a five hour flight), and then, after deboarding, got lost in Dubai International Airport, and then vented his frustration by screaming about “non-educated Muslims,” refusing to travel with Pakistani and Afghani passengers while covering his nose and complaining about their “disgusting smell,” flipping everyone the bird, and mooning everyone.
Kottak admits he was drunk but denies all of the other stuff, and claims he didn’t moon anyone, but, rather, “just lifted my shirt up to show the tattoo on my back.”
Kottak was sentenced to one month in a United Arab Emirates prison and fined 2,000 UAE Dirham – a little over $550 US.
It is stories like this which remind me that even though President Obama has really damaged America, both domestically via his economic ideology and on the world stage, through his limp-wristed foreign policy; America is still the best damned country on this planet to live in. Although the federal Leviathan is encroaching on our freedoms, we do still have the 1st Amendment here – even for drunk, aging rock drummers.
Paul Weston, the leader of the Liberty GB party in Great Britain was arrested this past weekend for, of all things publicly quoting one of his country’s greatest statesmen, Sir Winston Churchill.
Yes, you read that right. It would analogous to Sarah Palin being arrested in America for publicly quoting George Washington, or Abraham Lincoln.
But before we get to the “crime” of quoting Churchill, just exactly what is the Liberty GB party? Well, it has been favorably compared to the Tea Party movement here in the United States.
Liberty GB has been compared to the USA’s Tea Party, and in fact has many similarities with it.
Looking at the Tea Party’s “15 Non-negotiable Core Beliefs” reveals that, apart from the belief about Obama’s stimulus which is specifically American, 13 out of the remaining 14 – the exception is about gun ownership, on which our views vary – are very close to our own core beliefs.
The 15 open with: “Illegal immigrants are here illegally.” It may appear a truism, but there’s an important reason why tautologies like this need to be enunciated, namely that the Left nonsensically tries to deny them and their implications, in the UK as in the USA. You couldn’t find a party in Britain which would agree with that sentiment expressed by the Tea Party more than Liberty GB.
Our manifesto contains “Deport all illegal immigrants” and “Establish a National Border Police Force to tackle illegal entry and other cross-border crime.”
Several Tea Party’s core beliefs, like ours, stress the importance of economic issues and of balancing the respective countries’ budgets.
The two entities also share a common belief in lowering taxes and reigning in spending.
Several Tea Party’s core beliefs, like ours, stress the importance of economic issues and of balancing the respective countries’ budgets.
So now we can get back on point, which is the arrest of the Liberty GB Party’s leader, Paul Weston. On Saturday, the 26th, he was standing on a public street, NOT private property when he was using a megaphone to read from a part of Sir Winston Churchill’s literary works.
At around 2pm, Weston was addressing the passers-by on the street from the steps of Winchester Guildhall with a megaphone. He quoted the following passage about Islam from Churchill book, The River War:
“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith.”
Reportedly a woman, who found the passage “disgusting”, came out of the Guildhall and called the police.
Responding to her call, six or seven police officers arrived and questioned Weston for about 40 minutes.
At about 3pm, they arrested and searched him, and took him away in a police van.
“Making inferences is a skill with which students often need much practice.” So begins the syntactically challenged introduction to a series of Common Core-related educational materials at a site called eReadingWorksheets.com.
The worksheets and the site were created by Donald Morton, who — judging from the photograph accompanying the bio under “About” — is a cat. He is also, he informs the visitor, “a prolific online reading, language arts, and teaching enthusiast. Holding a B.A. in English from Northern Illinois University, and as a masters of arts candidate at Northeastern Illinois University, Mr. Morton has been immersed in the higher study of the reading and language arts for the last decade.”
Common Core seems commonly horrific. Then again, it is a government program. And, not only is it ia government program, it is run by democrats. Consider that an amplifier of the failure.
Bill Whittle is at it again. Here is his latest video: The Unmarked Matte-Gray Crown Vic.
Here is the text intro to the video…
Bill Whittle noticed something annoying on a recent commute: a Crown Victoria without license plates. Why are the authorities becoming more militarized and treating Americans like the enemy? Hear more on this Afterburner with Bill Whittle.
Once again, Bill Whittle causes us to think and question. No wonder liberals hate him.
In going along with the Obama administrations “lie and deny” scandal control template, the deniers and liars are stating that they did not know that the NSA were spying on foreign leaders. In the process, they are blaming the NSA for the said spying. The spies, however, are not at all pleased with their new accommodations under the bus. Poor Richard’s News has more…
Officials at the NSA aren’t very happy about the Commander in Chief throwing them under the bus in the recent high-profile spying scandal in which it was revealed they spied on leaders of foreign allies like Germany and Mexico. Some of them are now speaking out, saying President Obama not only knew about the bugs, he authorized them.
from LA Times:
The White House and State Department signed off on surveillance targeting phone conversations of friendly foreign leaders, current and former U.S. intelligence officials said Monday, pushing back against assertions that President Obama and his aides were unaware of the high-level eavesdropping.
Professional staff members at the National Security Agency and other U.S. intelligence agencies are angry, these officials say, believing the president has cast them adrift as he tries to distance himself from the disclosures by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden that have strained ties with close allies.
The resistance emerged as the White House said it would curtail foreign intelligence collection in some cases and two senior U.S. senators called for investigations of the practice.
France, Germany, Italy, Mexico and Sweden have all publicly complained about the NSA surveillance operations, which reportedly captured private cellphone conversations by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, among other foreign leaders.
On Monday, as Spain joined the protest, the fallout also spread to Capitol Hill.
I’m thinking that Obama, in his continual claims of ignorance and resultant blame of everyone else, is going to reach a point when people don’t take it anymore. Of course, there will be swift and sure retribution against anyone who tells the truth, but enough people stand, the lies will fail. And, picking on the NSA might prove to be a big error.
Remember when conservative bloggers first started warning us about the super secret NSA data center being built in Utah? The warnings that the NSA was going to be able to capture and store all cell phone calls and all e-mails and virtually anything that took place on the World Wide Web. We were told that our government would know everything about every citizen; that there would be no more reasonable expectation of privacy, in spite of our constitutional protection against unreasonable search and seizure. The usual voices called the people making these warnings “conspiracy theorist” and paranoid wackos. Then a low-level NSA contract employee, Edward Snowden, spilled the beans on the NSA’s activities. Depending on one’s point of view, Mr. Snowden is a traitor or a legitimate whistle-blower and some would even say he is a hero. Whatever Snowden is, his revelations have ignited a bipartisan outrage across the country. Our government, of course, tried to cover it all up. President Obama lied to us about what he knew. Par for the course. National Security Director Clapper lied about the NSA data collection and then admitted that he lied. No surprise there either.
Has anyone been fired over these illegal acts? Don’t be silly. Has the NSA stopped spying on American citizens? Of course not. They have the technology and they will use it. They won’t even try to put the genie back in the bottle. Congress could pass laws against collecting all this data; but what real good would it do, if the NSA keeps lying to us and to Congress. No one will know unless another Edward Snowden comes forward.
In the last few weeks, Mr. Snowden has spilled some more of his beans. (He must have a very large can of beans!) Now we know that the NSA isn’t just spying on Americans; it is spying on the world! Mexico is outraged and demanding an explanation President Obama. So to is Brazil, France, Germany, Spain and Italy. This Fox News story reports that the NSA monitored 35 world leaders. In every case when one of these world leaders has called President Obama on the carpet, he has lied to them. Lying is our President’s modus operandi. Another Fox News article reports on an article in the Economic Times:
The Economic Times writes the “high-ranking” NSA official spoke to Bild am Sonntag on the condition of anonymity, saying the president, “not only did not stop the operation, but he also ordered it to continue.”
The Economic Times also reports the official told Bild am Sonntag that Obama did not trust Merkel, wanted to know everything about her, and thus ordered the NSA to prepare a dossier on the politician.
All countries, for national security reasons, have their spies and intelligence gathering services, If they would stick to sniffing out the bad guys, no one would be worried. But obviously the NSA and the US government are gathering information on anyone and everyone. Anyone using the World Wide Web to communicate is exposed to the NSA spying. That means people inside and outside of our government and any other government. The potential to use this information to blackmail government officials or a business executive or any individual is palpable. Does anyone believe that the information on the extra-marital affair of CIA Director Petraeus was obtained legally? One has to wonder how many of the Generals that President Obama has purged since he has been in office was facilitated by information gathered by the NSA? Could a president with NSA data “persuade” a Congressman or Sneator to vote the way the president wanted? Could an NSA Director blackmail a president? Think J. Edgar Hoover on steroids.
It use to be that the spies of the world were on a pretty even playing. The big boys all had the same technology, more or less. Today, I don’t think any country can match the United States in its capacity to spy. One reason is that Microsoft, Google, Facebook, and Twitter are American companies and their managements are cooperating with the NSA’s spying. That gives the US quite an edge over the rest of the world.
Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World is here. The reasonable expectation of privacy is but a quaint concept of a bygone day. If you want your communications to be private, you had better look for a very low technology way to communicate. People may even have to consider talking to one another face to face. Imagine that!
Well, that’s what I’m thinking. What are your thoughts?
Mr. Martino is a Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve who has been mobilized three times. During his military career, he commanded an infantry platoon, company, and battalion. He was also the senior U.S. adviser to an Iraqi Army brigade. Mr. Martino has had a successful civilian career providing training, consulting, and program management services to private companies and to state and federal agency contractors. Mr. Martino presently holds a top secret security clearance.
I’ve never written on the Third Amendment. There really have never been a reason to do so. You see the Third Amendment, at first reading, does seem to apply only to a bygone era…
No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law
It made sense at the time, as the British had a thing for taking over people’s homes. But, is there is an application for the 21st century? It appears there just might. Take a look at the following example…
LAS VEGAS (CN) – Henderson police arrested a family for refusing to let officers use their homes as lookouts for a domestic violence investigation of their neighbors, the family claims in court. Anthony Mitchell and his parents Michael and Linda Mitchell sued the City of Henderson, its Police Chief Jutta Chambers, Officers Garret Poiner, Ronald Feola, Ramona Walls, Angela Walker, and Christopher Worley, and City of North Las Vegas and its Police Chief Joseph Chronister, in Federal Court…
Mitchell claims that defendant officers, including Cawthorn and Worley and Sgt. Michael Waller then “conspired among themselves to force Anthony Mitchell out of his residence and to occupy his home for their own use.”
This is a rather interesting concept, that in the Amendment applies here. Here is some more…
But, as Somin points out, this may still be a bit dodgy, at least in terms of making a 3rd Amendment case, specifically because police do not immediately qualify as “soldiers” for purposes of this discussion. Or do they?
The most obvious obstacle to winning a Third Amendment claim here is that police arguably do not qualify as “soldiers.” On the other hand, as Radley Balko describes in his excellent new book The Rise of the Warrior Cop, many police departments are increasingly using military-style tactics and equipment, often including the aggressive use of force against innocent people who get in the way of their plans. If the plaintiffs’ complaint is accurate, this appears to be an example of that trend. In jurisdictions where the police have become increasingly militarized, perhaps the courts should treat them as “soldiers” for Third Amendment purposes.
A second possible impediment to winning a Third Amendment claim in this case is that the Amendment is one of the few parts of the Bill of Rights that the Supreme Court still has not “incorporated” against state governments. For incorporation purposes, claims against local governments (like this one) are treated the same way as claims against states. On the other hand, the Supreme Court has never ruled that the Third Amendment does not apply to the states. If, as the Court has previously decided, virtually all the rest of the Bill of Rights applies to state governments, there is no good reason to exclude the Third Amendment. If the Third Amendment part of the case is not dismissed on other grounds, the federal district court may have to address the issue of incorporation.
I think this might be more of a Fourth Amendment issue, as this might be with the Right to be…
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Then again, this government t could care less about the Fourth.
It’s shocking to see how quickly we have transformed as a society. Principles that were commonplace only 50 years ago are now gone. The narrator ask how do we snap people out of this state of affairs; or as I see it this apathetic mindset? What needs to happen to wake the people up? In my opinion waking people up will be a monumental task. It will take a massive effort on the part of liberty loving citizens to deprogram a citizenry that has been conditioned to accept these blatant violations of our constitution and their rights in the name of security. After all people want to feel safe. And because they want to feel safe they’re ok with surrendering their individual liberties to the government.
Our founders could have done the same. They could have surrendered their liberties to England in exchange for security. Thank goodness they didn’t. They chose liberty and the right for each person to be master of their own destiny. Why today do we reject this? Why do we reject the founders? Maybe it’s because we feel that the dangers we face today are far greater than the dangers the founding generation faced. I mean all the founding generation had to worry about was keeping a union of 13 states together, defending their homes from Indian raids, creating a system of government that all states would agree to, and worrying about an invasion from another country after seven years of war with their mother country. Not to mention disease and the various outbreaks that came with it. And yet they still believed that individual liberty was the answer. Why don’t we? Is it because we want to feel safe? I want to be master of my own security and I’ll live with the risk that comes with a free society.
Of course, the powers that be will not say that it has anything to do with the shirt, but it appears that Jared Marcum, a 14 year-old student is facing potential imprisonment for wearing a NRA T-shirt. We covered this back in April…
And, as the TV report indicates, the shirt in question does not violate school policy, yet they took some rather extreme actions against him. Here is a bit more from WOWK…
“I don’t’ see how anybody would have an issue with a hunting rifle and NRA put on a t-shirt, especially when policy doesn’t forbid it,” Lardieri said.
The Logan County School District’s dress code policy prohibits clothing that displays profanity, violence, discriminatory messages and more but nowhere in the document does it say anything about gun images.
“He did not violate any school policy,” Lardieri reiterates. “He did not become aggressive.”
Now, Lardieri says he’s ready to fight until the situation is made right.
“I will go to the ends of the earth, I will call people, I will write letters, I will do everything in the legal realm to make sure this does not happen again,” Lardieri said.
Eventually, he was off the hook, and was greeted in school with an act of support-other students were wearing the same shirt.
Now, however, his redemption must be denied, as the DA is now seeking to punish him.
Frankly, they must have run out of alphabet agencies with available staff. We have mentioned True the Vote before. They are a group that did much to expose fake voter registrations, and massive flaws in voter registration rolls…
• Valerie Jarrett: ‘After We Win This Election, It’s Our Turn Payback Time’ « : Openly declared as “Obama’s Brain”, and the figure whose second story West Wing office has been described by political insiders as the true Oval Office of the Obama White House, Valerie Jarrett is letting it be known that if Barack Obama secures election victory next week, there may be, quite literally, hell to pay for those who opposed him… …The part that really stuck out to me was when I overheard the rep say that Jarrett told them, “After we win this election, it’s our turn. Payback time. Everyone not with us is against us and they better be ready because we don’t forget. The ones who helped us will be rewarded, the ones who opposed us will get what they deserve. There is going to be hell to pay. Congress won’t be a problem for us this time. No election to worry about after this is over and we have two judges ready to go.” She was talking directly to about three of them. Sr. staff. And she wasn’t trying to be quiet about it at all. And they were all listening and shaking their heads and smiling while she said it.
[In] February , True the Vote received a third request for information from the IRS, which also sent its first questionnaire to King Street Patriots. Catherine says the IRS had “hundreds of questions — hundreds and hundreds of questions.” The IRS requested every Facebook post and Tweet she had ever written. She received questions about her family, whether she’d ever run for political office, and which organizations she had spoken to.
“It’s no great secret that the IRS is considered to be one of the more serious [federal agencies],” Catherine says. “When you get a call from the IRS, you don’t take it lightly. So when you’re asked questions that seem to imply a sense of disapproval, it has a very chilling effect.”
On the same day they received the questions from the IRS, Catherine says, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) launched an unscheduled audit of their machine shop, forcing the Engelbrechts to drop everything planned for that day. Though the Engelbrechts have a Class 7 license, which allows them to make component parts for guns, they do not manufacture firearms. Catherine said that while the ATF had a right to conduct the audit, “it was odd that they did it completely unannounced, and they took five, six hours. . . . It was so extensive. It just felt kind of weird.”
That was in February. In July, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration paid a visit to Engelbrecht Manufacturing while Bryan, Catherine, and their children were out of town. The OSHA inspector talked with the managerial staff and employees, inspecting the premises minutely. But Bryan says the agent found only “little Mickey Mouse stuff, like, ‘You have safety glasses on, but not the right kind; the forklift has a seatbelt, but not the right kind.’” Yet Catherine and Bryan said the OSHA inspector complimented them on their tightly run shop and said she didn’t know why she had been sent to examine it.
Not long after, the tab arrived. OSHA was imposing $25,000 in fines on Engelbrecht Manufacturing. They eventually worked it down to $17,500, and Bryan says they may have tried to contest the fines to drive them even lower, but “we didn’t want to make any more waves, because we don’t know [how much further] OSHA could reach.”
So, in other words, this woman dared to organize legal and non-violence resistance to the voter fraud machine, and as a result, the Obama Administration turned the full force of the government against her. Also, Jarrett’s comments after the election become even more interesting. Most of this harassment occurred BEFORE the election. How much worse will it be now?
Ric Bradshaw, Sheriff of Palm Beach Country, Florida, has decided to channel the Soviet Union and have citizens “inform” on their neighbours who are critical of the government. The Clash Daily has more…
A new $1 million dollar program led by Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw aimed at “violence prevention” is encouraging Floridians to report their neighbors for making hateful comments about the government, a chilling reminder of how dissent is being characterized as an extremist threat.
“Bradshaw plans to use the extra $1 million to launch “prevention intervention” units featuring specially trained deputies, mental health professionals and caseworkers. The teams will respond to citizen phone calls to a 24-hour hotline with a knock on the door and a referral to services, if needed,” reports the Palm Beach Post.
Bradshaw makes it clear that the kind of behavior which could prompt a visit from the authorities includes anti-government political statements that may be deemed a prelude to violent action.
this plays into so many liberal memes. It hits the “anyone who dares opposes the nanny state is crazy.” That opposition to the government is somehow a “prelude to violence,” is another. And, informing on neighbors is a fine Soviet tradition. Anyone who said anything outside of the party line was to be severely punished. And while the current regime isn’t “disappearing” people, the involvement of mental health professionals may imply that patriots may be diagnosed with some made-up, non-existent diagnosis like “sluggishly progressing schizophrenia.”
I had a very uneasy feeling for the entire search for the second Boston Marathon bomber. How does one shut down an entire city? Considering the Constitution, under what authority can people be ordered from their homes at gun point, and searched without a warrant? Just a reminder, here is the Fourth Amendment…
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
How did what happen in Boston have even a whiff of compliance with our Constitution? No warrants were obtained, no evidence was presented to justify probable cause, yet an entire city can be shut down, and searched? Here is some video…
If they can justify doing this to search for a single bomber, what else can the say to justify it?
There are apparently times that the Germans forget exactly who won the war. When it comes to homeschooled children, they apparently think that the little man with the silly moustache is still in power, and run off to seize the children for the glory of the state. The Libertarian Republic has more…
The state describes the reasons they took the child as because she is overly devoted to her father. It states that she is “A highly disturbed girl who obediently and faithfully obeys the idealistic statements of the father and who describes the state as being despotic and fascist-like.” The girl was placed in a mental hospital alongside other teenagers who were suicidal.

I wonder how many regressives in this country, are standing and applauding the use of SWAT teams to take homeschooled children away from their parents?
I’ve said before that if the Democrats can’t directly ban guns, that they’ll take any and every path to confiscate as many as possible. At some point, you’re going to want to know who has guns in order to confiscate them. Which is why Democrats wants national databases of gun owners, and Conservatives resist such measures. But, if Democrats cannot make their own, they will get them from the states. That is what allegedly happened in Missouri. Apparently, they shared their Concealed Carry Permit database with the Feds. Liberty News has more…
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has twice turned over the entire list of Missouri concealed weapon permit holders to federal authorities, most recently in January, Sen. Kurt Schaefer said Wednesday.
Questioning in the Senate Appropriations Committee revealed that on two occasions, in November 2011 and again in January, the patrol asked for and received the full list from the state Division of Motor Vehicle and Driver Licensing. Schaefer later met in his office with Col. Ron Replogle, superintendent of the patrol.
After the meeting, he said Replogle had given him sketchy details about turning over the list, enough to raise many more questions. Testimony from Department of Revenue officials revealed that the list of 185,000 names had been put online in one instance and given to the patrol on a disc in January.
Schaefer has been investigating a new driver licensing system. He and the committee grilled the revenue officials for several hours in the morning and again at midday before they admitted the list had been copied. The investigation was triggered by fears that concealed weapons data was being shared with federal authorities.
Again, what they cannot get formally or legally, they will obtain illegally. The point is that the Administration needs to know where the guns are to get at them. In a sense, it’s like a chess game, and the state is trying to see where the other side is moving their pieces.
