Target Identity Theft Case Now Involving Other Retailers

It appears that the theft of credit card data at Target over the past Christmas season was not isolated.  KDKA has more on the widening case of identity theft… PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — After upping the number of customers affected by its credit card information theft — from 40 to 70 million — Target says it’s doing everything it can to protect its shoppers through its zero liability policy. “Zero liability is zero liability, which means that Target is paying for any fraudulent, any possible fraudulent activity on anybody’s credit card,” Target CEO Gregg Steinhafel said on CNBC. … On Monday […]

War on Christmas Aftermath, VA Refuses Christmas Cards, Christmas Carols, Military Bans Mere Mention of Christmas

Just remember folks, any good liberal will tell you that there is no “War on Christmas.” So, in the spirit of disclosure, here are three stories that most certainly did not happen. Boys and girls at Grace Academy in Prosper, Tex., spent most of last Friday making homemade Christmas cards for bedridden veterans at the VA hospital in Dallas. … But the bedridden veterans at the VA hospital will never get to see Gracie’s card. Nor will they see the cards made by 51 other students. That’s because the Christmas cards violated VA policy. “It really didn’t occur to me […]

Reagan: Christmas Address, 1981

As a last minute addition to the Christmas posts here at the CH 2.0, here is the 1981 Christmas address of then President Ronald Reagan. Reagan actually stood for something, unlike the current occupant of the office of President of the United States. H/T: Weasel Zippers

Christmas 2013

Merry Christmas!  Here is the reason for the season, so to speak… 2:1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. 2:2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 2:3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 2:4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 2:5 To […]

NORAD Tracks Santa: 2013

For over five decades, NORAD has tracked Santa for children all over the US, and now, the world. For more than 50 years, NORAD and its predecessor, the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) have tracked Santa’s flight. The tradition began in 1955 after a Colorado Springs-based Sears Roebuck & Co. advertisement misprinted the telephone number for children to call Santa. Instead of reaching Santa, the phone number put kids through to the CONAD Commander-in-Chief’s operations “hotline.” The Director of Operations at the time, Colonel Harry Shoup, had his staff check the radar for indications of Santa making his way south […]

PC Christmas: The Twelve Days of Winter

I caught this over at The Other McCain, and thought I’d share it here. It would be funnier if there weren’t a lot of PC truth to it.  And, by the way, I’m probably being “hyper-partisan” and raaaaacist for posting it.  So be it. Why don’t you join me and make this viral?

Sunday Links: Christmas Commercial Edition Revisited

Happy Sunday everyone! We’re going to continue our Christmas theme for the link post. Last week, we had a collection of Christmas songs, in the week prior to that, we had some vintage Christmas commercials. I’m going to go back to the Christmas commercials and give you an entirely different set. This time, were to go farther back in time, as well as into the 90s into the 21st century. This is my favorite time of year, and I can literally not get enough of this stuff. I hope you feel the same way.   It is also perfect opportunity […]

Greetings From Chuck Norris

In what appears to be a response from Chuck Norris to the Jean Claude Van Damme Volvo commercial, the following has been submitted for your approval… For those of you that aren’t getting the reference, here is the Volvo commercial. And the winner (as if I need to state the obvious) is Chuck Norris! H/T: Chicks on the Right

Sunday LInks: Vintage Christmas Commercial Edition

Well, we are in the Christmas season, aren’t we? Of course, as we’ve covered this week, there are a lot of liberals that don’t want that Jesus guy mentioned at all.  But, we won’t have that problem here. Its time for the vintage Christmas commercial edition.  I do this every year, because, like so many other people, Christmas brings out so many warm memories of my childhood.  I was blessed with good parents that protected me and saw that holidays were happy times.  So, let’s go back to a simpler time, and enjoy some vintage Christmas and toy commercials! That […]

Nichols Elementary School of Frisco Texas Bans Christmas Trees, and Even the Colors Red and Green UPDATED!

Apparently, the supposedly non-existent “war on Christmas” has another example of Christmas being banned.  Nichols Elementary School in Frisco Texas has not only banned Christmas trees, but even the colors red and green have fallen to the censor’s ax.  FOX News has more… Boys and girls who attend the Nichols Elementary School “Winter Party” will not be able to make any reference to Christmas or any other religious holiday. Christmas trees are also banned – along with the colors red and green. The rules were sent to parents in an email from the school’s PTA and first reported on by […]

Brooklet Elementary School Bans Christmas Cards

Well, it appears that even Christmas cards are off limits in at least one school.  The Brooklet Elementary School in Georgia said, “nyet comrade” to Christmas Cards this year.   For as long as anyone can remember, teachers at Brooklet Elementary School have posted Christmas cards in the hallways outside their classrooms – until Monday. When boys and girls returned from Thanksgiving break, they discovered that their teachers’ Christmas cards had been removed – under orders from the Georgia school’s administration. Robb Kicklighter’s wife is a third grade teacher at the school. He said many teachers are disgruntled by the school’s […]

The Green Mitten Mystery: A Christmas Story

Our friend and contributor, Don, has written a children’s Christmas Story.  He has graciously given the CH 2.0 permission to publish it here. One Thursday in December, on the first morning of the first snowfall of the Christmas Season, four kids were walking to school. They were three brothers named Jon, Roy, and Jake and their younger sister, Hope. Jon said, “It sure is cold, I wish it was warmer!” “I’m glad that it’s cold”, Hope replied. “Are you crazy?” “No I’m not!” Hope said, as she stamped her foot. Jake said, “Remember what Dad told us? The first snowfall […]

It’s a week before Christmas, and all through this blog, a lot of things are stirring, including the link post. Sunday Links: Vintage Toy Commericials Edition

Wow!  It’s Christmas time again?  What happened to 2011?  I do have to say that perhaps the perceived disappearance of the year is a bit merciful, but that would be open to interpretation.   Temporal perception aside, this is a time for memories, particularly of childhood.  In deference to that fact, there are some vintage toy commercials with the links today. Merry Christmas 2010

1Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census be taken of all the inhabited earth. 2This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3And everyone was on his way to register for the census, each to his own city. 4Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, 5in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child. 6While they were […]
