govt-censorshipProgressives, or as I like to call them, regressives, no matter of which party, hate the fact that new media is threatening their information monopoly.  Bloggers are among their chief targets. John Kerry notes a few months ago…

Steve, from America’s Watchtower, has more…

Yesterday at the U.S. Embassy in Brazil John Kerry said the following:

I’m a student of history, and I love to go back and read a particularly great book like [Henry] Kissinger’s book about diplomacy where you think about the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and the balance of power and how difficult it was for countries to advance their interests and years and years of wars,” Kerry said to a gathering of State Department employees and their families.

“And we sometimes say to ourselves, boy, aren’t we lucky

Okay, nothing wrong there, we are lucky to live in a world where it is much easier for countries to communicate with each other. But apparently the Secretary of State does not see it that way for he continued:

Well, folks,” he said, “ever since the end of the Cold War, forces have been unleashed that were tamped down for centuries by dictators, and that was complicated further by this little thing called the internet and the ability of people everywhere to communicate instantaneously and to have more information coming at them in one day than most people can process in months or a year.

“It makes it much harder to govern, makes it much harder to organize people, much harder to find the common interest. (emphasis added)

Just remember folks, you are too dumb to make your own decisions.  You should be like the low information voters that do what they are told.

We’ve broke so many stories, and kept the pressure on with so many others, that the Democrats in Congress were working on a means to silence us.

Dianne Feinstein wants to regulate who can and cannot be a reporter.  The Internet’s largest disseminator of news, Matt Drudge, called her a “Fascist”.

Yesterday, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted for a “Reporter Shield Bill” which would determine who is and who isn’t a journalist.

Here’s Senator Feinstein at the hearing:

Senator Feinstein proposed language that she said,”effectively sets up a test for establishing bona fide credentials that make one a legitimate journalist.”  Legitimate journalists will be protected.  Non-legitimate journalists, like blogs, will not.

As you might guess, this legislation would have created a situation in which the only “bona fide” journalists would be the ones who repeat their regressive talking points like good little sheep.  Remember when the White House said that FOX News wasn’t a “real” news outlet?  That would then extend to any source of information that did not tow the Democratic party line.  They would be no longer “bona fide.”  Then, Democratic operatives would target those sources.

Thankfully, a court has decided that the First Amendment applies to all Americans, and not just the organized liars at MSNBC.  Steve, at America’s Watchtower has more…

Today a Federal Appeals Court ruled that bloggers do indeed have protection under the First Amendment of the Constitution:

A federal appeals court ruled Friday that bloggers and the public have the same First Amendment protections as journalists when sued for defamation: If the issue is of public concern, plaintiffs have to prove negligence to win damages.

So, the Democrat’s efforts to create a “playing field” where bloggers can be sued out of existence for writing an opinion, or citing facts, has failed-for now.  However, they will be back.  As John Kerry points out, the regressives think we are far too stupid to be trusted with factual information, so sources of information outside of the government must be eliminated.  After all, how are we supposed to believe that global warming causes it to be cold?  How are we supposed to believe that a YouTube video caused Benghazi when it was so clearly a planned attack!  How are we supposed to blindly believe that ObamaCare is the best thing since sliced bread when the bloggers show how many people are losing hours, or their jobs, or their plans?

You get the idea.  We are dealing with a totalitarian government that is busy consolidating power.  To accomplish that, information must be controlled.  Bloggers are an obstacle to that, so we have to go.

Christian Baker States Willingness to go to Jail Rather Than Bake Care for Gay Weddings, Plus How This Might be Avoided

Back in June, I covered the story of Jack Phillips, a Christian Baker being sued for refusing to make a wedding cake for same-sex wedding.  Mr. Phillips was recently ordered by a judge to service same-sex weddings, or face punishing fines, or possible imprisonment. The now well-known case, that’s what I believe to be a to radical aspect of the gay-rights movement. It seems, that all over the country, Christian owned businesses are being targeted by case in an effort to silence them or force them to close. Here’s some more on Mr. Phillips’s case by Life Site News.

DENVER, December 11, 2013 ( – A Denver cake baker who was ordered by a judge last week to service same-sex “weddings” or face punishing fines has told Fox News that he would rather shut down his business and serve jail time than violate his beliefs and play a role in facilitating gay nuptials.

In an interview with Fox’s Elisabeth Hasselbeck, cake maker Jack Phillips said, “You know, [I’ll serve jail time if] that’s what it takes.  It’s not like I have chosen this team or that team. This is who I am, it’s what I believe.”

“Does becoming a business owner mean you have to check your convictions at the door?” Hasselbeck asked. “Why is it important for you to have a business and not have to abandon personal religious beliefs just to make a buck?”

“I don’t plan on giving up my religious beliefs … I don’t feel that I should participate in their wedding, and when I do a cake, I feel like I’m participating in the ceremony or the event or the celebration that the cake is for,” Phillips said. “My priorities would be towards my faith rather than towards my safety or security.”

Phillips, who owns Masterpiece Cakeshop in the Denver suburb of Lakewood, has been under fire since July 2012, when David Mullins and Charlie Craig filed a discrimination complaint after Phillips refused to sell them a wedding cake.

I have to applaud Mr. Phillips for making a principled stand and placing his beliefs and faith above the world. However, that is not going to stop evil people from attempting to destroy the livelihoods, or even the lives of Christians. We are living in a time where good is being put up as evil, and evil is being put up as good. Sadly, we are going to see more and more of this– it’s not going to get better; it’s going to get worse.

However, I think there are some things that we can do to help protect Christian businesses and prevent them from being shut down.  I covered that back in September of this year, at the following post…

Christian Bakery Closed by Gay Mafia Threats/Intimidation, and How to Fight Back

And now, in light of this case, I have some other suggestions that perhaps Christian business owners can consider in protecting themselves from what I’ve identified as the quotation mark Gay Mafia.”  in the event that someone is a Christian business owner that serves weddings, for example a baker, like Jack Phillips, here’s a possible scenario that might protect the business.

  1. Cease being a public business.  Instead of advertising publicly for your services, operate on a referral only basis.
  2. Connect with local churches, Christian wedding planners, as well as other Christian businesses that cater to weddings.
  3. Coordinate with one another and prevent yourself from being put in the position of being forced to choose between your faith in performing something that is unethical.
  4. If you are a baker, you can sell any other baked good to anyone, just as you always do. However, do wedding cakes only on a referral basis.

In the long run, I think that Christians are going to need to band together, professionally and personally.  We know that this is only going to get worse, and the more we support each other, the longer we can hang on.

Massive Projection on Display: Democrat Hank Johnson Wants to Limit Free Speech

We like to say that you always know what the Democrats are up to based on what they accuse everyone else of doing.  Here’s Hank Johnson, a Democratic Congress critter, on why he thinks free speech is a terrible thing…

OK, let’s look at some points here…

“They control the patterns of thinking,” said Johnson. “They control the media. They control the messages that you get. So, you are being taught to hate your government – don’t want government, but keep your hands off of my Medicare by the way. I mean, we are all confused people and we’re poking fingers at each other saying, well you’re black, you’re Hispanic, immigration, homosexuals. You know, we’re lost on the social issues, abortion, contraception.

Is this guy serious?  If this is so, why has every single Obama-related scandal been played down by the MSM?  If the corporations are in control, why haven’t the people heard of what really happened at Benghazi?  Why didn’t they know that ObamaCare would cause job losses and people’s hours to be cut?  Why don’t they know about “fast and the furious?”  Why did they lie about Sandra Fluke and $9 birth control at Target?  Why did they invent a war on women that didn’t exist?  Why didn’t they cover the voter fraud that occurred during the election?

I could go on for hours, but it does show how close to completely demented that they are.  They are essentially saying that the corporations are doing all of the things that the MSM is doing on behalf of Obama and the Democrats.

And let me guess, Corporations, whose workers voluntarily work, and whose customers voluntarily buy, are not people.  But, Unions, whose members are forced to join, are, right?

Projection is quite revealing, as it shows us what the other side is thinking and doing.

War on Christians Escalates: Judge Forces Hobby Lobby to Violate Beliefs

Notice that there seems to be a war on Christianity under way?  Well, the folks at Hobby lobby have noticed, as they  went to court to escape the the ObamaCare regulations that require them to provide coverage for the abortion pill.  Unfortunately, it seems that at least one federal judge seems t think that Religious Freedom really doesn’t exist.

LifeNews reported:

A federal judge has issued a ruling siding with the Obama administration saying that it has the right to force Hobby Lobby, a Christian-owned and run company, to pay for drugs for women that may cause abortions.

The privately held retail chain with more than 500 arts and crafts stores in 41 states filed a lawsuit against the Obama administration over its HHS mandate. The company says it would face $1.3 million in fines on a daily basis starting in January if it fails to comply with the mandate, which requires religious employers to pay for or refer women for abortion-cause drugs that violate their conscience or religious beliefs.

The lawsuit was filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma and the business says it is opposing the Health and Human Services “preventive services” mandate, which it says forces the Christian-owned-and-operated business to provide, without co-pay, the “morning after pill” and “week after pill” in their health insurance plan, or face crippling fines up to 1.3 million dollars per day.

“By being required to make a choice between sacrificing our faith or paying millions of dollars in fines, we essentially must choose which poison pill to swallow,” said David Green, Hobby Lobby CEO and founder. “We simply cannot abandon our religious beliefs to comply with this mandate.”

However, U.S. District Judge Joe Heaton issued a ruling late Monday rejecting Hobby Lobby’s request to block the mandate. Judge Heaton said that the company doesn’t qualify for an exemption because it is not a church or religious group.

Now, it would be simple to point out that Muslims would scream, and be heard, of they were forced to sell bacon.  Vegans would complain, sue, and win, if they were forced to eat veal.  However, Christians are systematically targeted and shot down by judges.  But,I think there is more to it than simple discrimination-it the concerted effort to punish and drive Christians, and more importantly, that Jesus guy, from all aspects of public life.

As I see it, there are two motivations for this…

1.  Under the socialist utopia, there shall be no God before government.  Christians, particularly the ones that actually believe on their faith, put God before any else, especially government.  This prevents them from being the good drones that the government indoctrination machine wants to produce.  Without good drones, the liberal utopia collapses under the doubt of it’s citizens.   So, Christians must be punished, discriminated against, ridiculed, and persecuted, lest other people listen, and come to know the Jesus guy.

2. The “boss” of liberalism does not like God, and has spent considerable effort on attacking the followers of the Jesus guy.  He’s used Cultural Marxism (political correctness), Communism, Fascism, the Alinsky Method, and a myriad of other tactics and schemes to attack the followers, and prevent more people from hearing or believing the words of the Jesus guy.  This is just the latest in a long line of aggressions.  I would think that they “boss” of liberalism see’s his end-game coming, and he is accelerating his efforts, all in an attempt to eliminate any reference, or reverence for the Jesus guy from our society.

Either way, this is potentially a big in for the left.  Either Hobby Lobby sells out their faith, which shows them to be weak in faith, and not good example-or they close.  Either way, the Christian influence in society is diminished, and less people are under the influence of that pesky Jesus.
