One of the selling points of ObamaCare is the claim that one cannot be denied coverage due to a pre-existing condition. However, what if you’re covered under ObamaCare, but your providers are not part of any ObamaCare plan? Poor Richard’s has more…
from Forbes (emphasis mine):
For someone in the middle of a cancer treatment, or someone with a chronic condition, this can be extraordinarily distressing, and perhaps dangerous to their health.
Edie Littlefield Sundby writes in the Wall Street Journal that she is on the verge of losing her treatment program for stage-4 gallbladder cancer. Why? Her existing plan doesn’t meet the ACA standards, so it has to be canceled. Her treatment program involves doctors at both the Stanford and UC San Diego medical centers, and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Texas – but there is no plan in the California exchange that includes both Stanford and UCSD centers in it network, much less M.D. Anderson. In fact, UCSD has joined only one provider network, and it’s a heretofore almost unknown type called an “Exclusive Provider Organization” (EPO). The “exclusive” means that in an EPO, coverage is provided exclusively within the network – there is no out-of-network coverage at, except what uninsured people get at the emergency room.
Despite the President’s repeated promises, there is no way Ms. Sundby can keep all of her current doctors, or her health plan, in the new system. Her preexisting condition doesn’t prevent her from enrolling in any of the new Obamacare exchange plans – but none of those plans actually cover the same treatment she was receiving for her preexisting condition.
Ms. Sundby’s predicament is probably not an isolated case. Abby Goodnough of the New York Times reports that many people are having extreme difficulty finding out whether the plans they are shopping on the exchanges will cover the current doctors or hospitals they go to, or the drugs they take.
So, Ms. Sundby had a plan that she liked, and it was covering her providers, who were treating her cancer. But, according to our ObamaCare loving regressive friends, her plan was junk, and had to be cancelled. Now, she can get a plan, but none of them will cover her providers. So, technically, she has ObamaCare coverage, but no treatment.
Of course, the regressives will blame that on someone else. If she dies, it will be a small price to pay towards the regressive’s control of healthcare.
Just as a hint, Walmart wins! Well, yes, I gave it away; in a side by side comparison with far more expensive ObamaCare coverage, the Examiner found that the Walmart Coverage was a far better deal. Here are some excerpts…
Independent insurance agents affiliated with the National Association of Health Underwriters and health policy experts compared the two at the request of the Examiner.
Walmart furnished employee benefit information to the Examiner. Neither Obamacare advocate Families USA nor the United Food and Commercial Workers, which backs anti-Walmart campaigns, responded to Examiner requests for comment.
Walmart offers its employees two standard plans, a Health Reimbursement Account and an alternative it calls “HRA High” that costs more out of employees’ pockets but has lower deductibles. Blue Cross Blue Shield manages both plans nationally.
For a monthly premium as low as roughly $40, an individual who is a Walmart HRA plan enrollee can obtain full-service coverage through a Blue Cross Blue Shield preferred provider organization. A family can get coverage for about $160 per month.
Unlike Obamacare, there are no income eligibility requirements. Age and gender do not alter premium rates. The company plan is the same for all of Walmart’s 1.1 million enrolled employees and their dependents, from its cashiers to its CEO.
Note that Congress exempted itself from the plans that we have to purchase. Walmart’s CEO gets the same plan as the person that stocks the shelves.
A Journal of the American Medical Association analysis from September showed that unsubsidized Obamacare enrollees will face monthly premiums that are five to nine times higher than Walmart premiums.
JAMA found the unsubsidized premium for a nonsmoking gouple age 60 can cost $1,365 per month versus the Walmart cost of about $134 for the same couple.
… Low premiums are not the only distinguishing feature of the Walmart plan. The retailer’s employees can use eight of the country’s most prestigious medical facilities, including the Mayo Clinic, Pennsylvania’s Geisinger Medical Center and the Cleveland Clinic.
At these institutions, which Walmart calls “Centers of Excellence,” Walmart employees and their dependents can get free heart or spinal surgery. They can also get free knee and hip replacements at four hospitals nationwide.
As we have noted, top hospitals, like the Cleveland Clinic, are left out for ObamaCare enrollees.
“People who are seriously ill need to stay away from these exchange plans,” McCaughey said.
Slayton said the gap between doctor availability in Chicago under the Obamacare and Walmart plans is dramatic.
“You will notice there are 9,837 doctors [under Obamacare]. But the larger network is 24,904 doctors. Huge, huge difference,” he said.
Walmart also offers a free preventive health plan that mirrors the Obamacare plan. Its employees can take advantage of a wide range of free exams and counseling, including screenings for colorectal cancer, cervical cancer, chlamydia, diabetes, depression and special counseling for diet and obesity.
Their children can get more than 20 free preventive services, ranging including screenings for genetic disorders, autism and developmental problems to obesity, lead poisoning exposure and tuberculosis. There are also 12 free vaccinations, and free hearing and vision testing.
Walmart employees pay as little as $4 for a 30-day supply of generic drugs and only $10 for eye exams through a separate vision plan.
In other words, the Walmart plan is tremendously cheaper, and offers more.
The article does not state if men are forced to purchase maternity coverage, and they do under ObamaCare.
I would strongly encourage you to get over and read the entire article at the Examiner. It is very detailed, and has some nice info-graphics as well.
American apparently chose, and rather than what Walmart offers; cheap and effective, ObamaCare forces us to pay far more for much less. But that’s OK, at least, as a middle aged man, I can get free maternity care and birth control pills!
I guess more and more people are finding out what was “in” ObamaCare; primarily incompetence and failure. The latest comes to us from the Daily Mail, via iOWNTHEWORLD, who shows us that “having” ObamaCare doesn’t necessarily mean that you have anything at all…
MailOnline spoke with patients who were told they would have to pay their bills in full if they couldn’t prove they had insurance
One was faced with a $3,000 hospital room charge and opted to leave the hospital after experiencing chest pains
‘Should I be in the hospital? Probably,’ she said
Another, coughing in the cold, walked out without receiving a needed chest x-ray
Consumers face sticker-shock from medical costs under the new Obamacare system, made worse if they can’t prove they’re insured
As many as one-third of new enrollees’ applications have seen problems when the government transmits them to insurance companies
Hospital staff in Northern Virginia are turning away sick people on a frigid Thursday morning because they can’t determine whether their Obamacare insurance plans are in effect.
Patients in a close-in DC suburb who think they’ve signed up for new insurance plans are struggling to show their December enrollments are in force, and health care administrators aren’t taking their word for it.
In place of quick service and painless billing, these Virginians are now facing the threat of sticker-shock that comes with bills they can’t afford.
‘They had no idea if my insurance was active or not!’ a coughing Maria Galvez told MailOnline outside the Inova Healthplex facility in the town of Springfield.
She was leaving the building without getting a needed chest x-ray.
‘The people in there told me that since I didn’t have an insurance card, I would be billed for the whole cost of the x-ray,’ Galvez said, her young daughter in tow. ‘It’s not fair – you know, I signed up last week like I was supposed to.’
The x-ray’s cost, she was told, would likely be more than $500.
Is it the fault of the dupes that believed in Obama? Well, maybe, considering that they were warned that this monstrosity wouldn’t work. But the real blame falls on democratic politicians, who lied to disguise the fact that ObamaCare was only Cloward-Piven for the health care system. That, and the media was complicit; covering up the failures, and repeating the lies told by Obama and his democratic allies.
Oh, and if you voted for Obama, you voted for this. Being low information is no longer an excuse.
We should always respect the religion of peace, as we are all told. After all, they got a religious exception from ObamaCare. When a Christian speaks Biblical truth about homosexuality, it becomes a national controversy. Muslims KILL homosexuals all over the world, and it isn’t even a blip on the radar. Even murdering Christians seems acceptable these days, with even President Obama sending funding and weapons to the Syrian Rebels al Qaeda, who massacres Christians at every turn.
The ObamaCare hits just keep coming and coming! For the latest installment, CBS News reported that the Obama administration KNEW that millions will lose their employee based coverage, WHILE they were saying that you could keep it, PERIOD!
Anchor Norah O’Donnell teased the correspondent’s report by trumpeting how “employees [are] losing their current company health benefits because of the Affordable Care Act – Sharyl Attkisson investigates what the government knew was coming.” Minutes later, co-anchor Charlie Rose introduced the segment by noting that “CBS News is learning another promise by the government isn’t holding up. Some of those who get their insurance through work are losing their coverage.”
The CBS journalist continued that “the government estimated all along that millions of workers will be dropped from their employee insurance under the Affordable Care Act. And for some, it’s already happening.” Attkisson spent much of her report highlighting how Nancy Clark, a “New Hampshire small business owner”, and “Virginia Beach business owner” Betsy Atkinson, both had to “terminate” health coverage for their employees.
All I can predict that is the democrats and their minions will continue to lie about this…because that is what they do!
We predicted that the fine (read: tax) in ObamaCare for employers who do not provide insurance for their employees would provide a powerful incentive to drop people from their plans. The fine is structured to be so much less expensive than insurance, that it would be extremely attractive to businesses. Considering how much ObamaCare has increased the costs of insurance, as well as all the other increases in costs caused by Obama administration regulation, not to mention the stagnant economy, and it wasn’t exactly rocket science to predict this.
If PSC drops its health insurance, the company would face a penalty of $2000 per employee under the Affordable Care Act.
But for some companies, that penalty may actually be a big savings, says Tom Sutton, a NewsChannel 5 political analyst and chair of political science at Baldwin Wallace University.
That’s because companies pay up to $7,000 for individual coverage and up to $20,000 for family coverage. Compared to the $2,000 penalty?
“You’re going to save a lot of money,” Sutton says.
And that’s not all. Sutton adds, “The Obama Administration has postponed the employer mandate penalty until 2015.”
That means, if a company cuts its health insurance now, they have a whole year without both the insurance payments to make or the penalties to pay.
There’s another angle to this, too. Don’t forget that the employer mandate requires companies with more than 50 employees to provide subsidized coverage for their workers — but not for spouses at all, and doesn’t require employers to provide subsidies to cover dependent children. The employees have to pick up the full cost of that coverage if offered by their employers, but can get taxpayer-provided federal subsidies if the employer refuses to comply with the mandate. Employees with children may well be financially better off going into the exchanges (although perhaps not in provider coverage), while employers save money by dumping group coverage altogether.
Once again, if you are a small business owner, or even a medium sized one, it would make sense to “dump” you employees on the exchanges because Obama is making it increasingly impossible to provide insurance to employees. Come to think of it, Obama is making it increasingly impossible to do business at all. But, then again, that is purposeful as well.
And, of course, Obama and leftists will blame this on the companies-because it is always someone else’s fault.
The primary reason that so many policies (15-16million in the individual market alone) are being canceled, and their “replacements” cost so much more is that the ObamaCare law, and it’s corresponding regulations, add so many requirements, that the current policies are not compliant. Yesterday, we found one of those requirements-men are forced to purchase coverage for maternity care. Right Scoop posted the video yesterday…
This is the one size fits all system that makes things fail. Men being forced to buy maternity coverage?
“The U.S. individual health insurance market currently totals about 19 million people. Because the Obama administration’s regulations on grandfathering existing plans were so stringent about 85% of those, 16 million, are not grandfathered and must comply with Obamacare at their next renewal. The rules are very complex. For example, if you had an individual plan in March of 2010 when the law was passed and you only increased the deductible from $1,000 to $1,500 in the years since, your plan has lost its grandfather status and it will no longer be available to you when it would have renewed in 2014.
“These 16 million people are now receiving letters from their carriers saying they are losing their current coverage and must re-enroll in order to avoid a break in coverage and comply with the new health law’s benefit mandates––the vast majority by January 1. Most of these will be seeing some pretty big rate increases.”
When we pointed that out in 2009, you were told that we were lying, or wanted people to die, or were taking money from the insurance industry. However, just as we predicted, people are losing their plans. And if they are losing their plans, there is a good chance that they are losing their doctors too.
Oh, and by the way, if you voted for Obama, you voted for this.
Both the University of Virginia and UPS told their employees recently they are no longer offering spousal coverage to those able to obtain insurance elsewhere; meaning thousands of Americans will no longer be able to choose the benefits they prefer.
UVA said Wednesday this is only one of many “major changes” coming to their health plans as a result of ObamaCare. The university says the changes are necessary because the law is projected to add $7.3 million to the cost of the university’s health plan in 2014 alone.
“The modified plan will provide new options and reward those who participate in wellness programs,” UVA’s Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Susan Carkeek said in a press release. “But we must make adjustments or face millions of dollars in rising costs, fees and taxes that would be passed along to employees.”
Similarly, UPS partially blamed the new health law for the change, which is estimated to affect roughly 15,000 employee spouses.
The rising cost of health care “combined with the costs associated with the Affordable Care Act, have made it increasingly difficult to continue providing the same level of health care benefits to our employees at an affordable cost,” UPS said.
Oops too bad if you lose your plan, or even your doctor. Your loss is a small sacrifice for our would-be ove3rlords in DC to make. After all, they’re exempt from the law anyway. You. however, get screwed.
Oh, and by the way, if you voted for Obama, you voted for this. You were warned.
Michigan, Unions, Violence, Goons, Americans for Prosperity, Tent, Attack, Assualt, Intimidation, MSM, Bias, Coverage The post reality world means that it really makes no difference what really happens, and even if you have the most iron-clad evidence, it’s all about who controls the information. So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at what is happening…
Media Ignores Union Violence:
As usual, the MSM is refusing to cover union violence. That is not new, and we shouldn’t be surprised, but it still should be covered, and so it shall. Newsbusters has a storyto that end…
On Tuesday, World News reporter Alex Perez put the focus not on out of control violence, but on the fact that Michigan’s right-to-work bill actually passed. He began, “The anger boiling over. Officers turning to pepper spray to control the crowd at least 10,000 deep. But it wasn’t enough.” One might think the journalist was speaking of the attack on Fox News contributor Steven Crowder. No. Perez kept the attention on the new law: “Michigan Republican lawmakers approving landmark legislation, lifting the requirement that workers in unionized workplaces pay union dues.
Over on Tuesday’s CBS Evening News, Elaine Quijano vaguely explained, “Union members from across Michigan and other states voiced their anger at the Michigan capital.”
On NBC’s Nightly News, Brian Williams also ignored the actual violence. Instead, he worried, “The emotional fight over unions and American jobs in a place many thought it could never happen. Are we looking at a turning point for American workers?”
To sum it up simply, they spiked it. And, if it isn’t covered, it didn’t happen.
Then, just when you thought you couldn’t get any more strange, the leftists started projecting…
After yesterday’s incident in which labor union activists tore down an Americans for Prosperity tent in Lansing and sucker-punched Stephen Crowder, this headline zoomed up the Memorandum aggregation:Breitbart Folks Appear to Fake Violence in LansingHuh? This was a decidedly odd piece of blogging: The claim that somehow the union thug clobbering Crowder was part of a right-wing hoax, based on such “evidence” as the event having been reported by “James O’Keefe’s buddy” Lee Stranahan — because, hey, if anybody at Breitbart thinks it’s actually news, that means it must be phony, right? Also, the video was edited. Anybody who edits a video is obviously engaged in some kind of evil conspiracy. What the hell is this silly gibberish? Are these people crazy? No, they’re engaged in a systematic effort to create confusion and discourage mainstream journalists from reporting on the incident.“Accuse the accusers!” Re-arrange the narrative of events so that a story that obviously makes the Left look bad is, instead, a story about the Right unjustly trying to make the Left look bad.
Here’s where my take is a bit different that Stacey’s. It is true that accusing the accusers is a tactic in the lefts play book. However, there is an additional wrinkle, and that is WHY it’s in the left’s play book. The name of that wrinkle is projection. In psychology, projection is the tendency to think that others do as you do. Since the left is infamous for false flag (remember the Infiltrate the Tea Party), and “staging atrocities” (remember OWS), that they would automatically assume that we are doing what they do for standard practice. This thinking is the source for the idea that you will always know what the left is up to based on what they accuse us of doing. In other words, the liberals look at us through the same fecal colored glasses that they use to view their own activities
Ever since we got a glimpse of what is in ObamaCare, we started predicting that people would lose their coverage. And as time has worn on, it has started to happen. But for background, here is what President Obama said about it in 2009…
Again, we covered all the intervening nonsense, including companies writing off billions under ObamaCare, the $500,000,000 that the ObamaCare takes out of Medicare, and a host of others. Of course, we also covered the earlier statements of Obama, and the more current statements of prominent Democrats that suggested the single payer was the end goal. In pursuit of that end, we hypothesized, would be the fact that the fines paid for companies to not cover their employees would be far less than the cost of actually covering them. It logically follows that this would encourage companies to dump insurance for their employees, leaving them in the government system. This thought was thoroughly rejected and ridiculed by the regressives.
However, Howard Dean, former DNC chair and Democratic Presidential candidate, agrees with us, albeit for all the wrong reasons…
Once again, the regressives tell the truth, even when they fail to see how it exposes their plans.
Let me just ask this simple question, how are you liking that “change.”

Update # 1:
We have EXCLUSIVE footage of the Democrat GOTV effort.
You can always count of the CH 2.0 to bring you this type of exclusive footage!
Bertha Lewis, the potty-mouthed chief organizer of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) announced today that her group has filed a Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition.
Chapter 7 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code provides for the liquidation of the estate of an indebted individual or corporate entity. This is different from Chapter 11 which often provides debtors with temporary protection from their creditors while they reorganize their affairs.
Despite the group’s exhaustively documented 40-year track record of corruption and lawbreaking, Lewis blamed the demise of the organization on its conservative critics.
In a statement posted on the group’s website, Lewis claimed ACORN was the victim of its own “highly effective strategies” that succeeded in “catching the attention of right-wing media and its proponents.”
ACORN was subjected to a “barrage of unmitigated accusations,” but even as the “extremists” attacking it “increased their radicalism, we continued to make a difference for families in each and every corner of our nation.”
To Lewis, conservatives are living embodiments of pure evil. In a convoluted speech earlier this year to a Young Democratic Socialists meeting, she called the Tea Party a “bowel movement” and seemed to suggest a violent race war was in America’s future.
Hours after ACORN announced its bankruptcy filing today, former ACORN national board member Marcel Reid said that ACORN leaders only have themselves to blame. Reid was also the final chairwoman of ACORN’s Washington, D.C. chapter.
OK folks, we’ve heard this before. ACORN claimed that they were dissolving back in the spring, and then, in the last few weeks, we find that they are still in operation. Then, almost conveniently, after we start paying attention again, they now do this? Sounds fishy to me.
Something tells me that they are simply going to re-emerge with a different name, and make twice as sure that they are not caught again. Let’s face it, they’re not upset that they committed crimes, they’re sorry that that were caught.
Minnesota officials are investigating a citizen’s allegations that mentally disabled voters in one county were coached by their attendants to cast their ballots for specific candidates, a county attorney told FoxNews.com.
Montgomery Jensen, a voter in Crow Wing County, says he and his wife saw a group of mentally incapacitated individuals ushered through the voting process by mental health staff, who told some of the group who they should vote for and, in some cases, filled out ballots on their behalf, according to an affidavit filed with the county attorney’s office on Monday, a copy of which was obtained by FoxNews.com.
I’ve heard of this before, with mentally retarded, mentally ill, and seniors in nursing home. It’s nothing new, but it is good that Fox put a spotlight on it.
The GOP so far has picked up two Senate seats from Democrats and held down a number of others, giving no ground as they look for big gains Tuesday night. The latest victory came in Arkansas, where GOP Rep. John Boozman trounced Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln, denying her a third term in Congress. Lincoln’s vote for the president’s health care overhaul was considered a turning point for the senator’s popularity.
Also, Christine O’Donnell lost her bid for the Senate. Not surprising, but she did take up Democratic resources that could have been used in other races.
That would put us up 3-4 out of the ten needed in the Senate. So far, so good.
Update #7: 9:30 PM
As for PA, Toomey and Corbett (GOP) are down, but so are Carney and Kanjorski (Douchnozzles).
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Florida’s Democratic U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson has been ousted after earning notoriety in his single term for harsh rhetoric that included accusing Republicans of wanting sick people to “die quickly.”
With 78 percent of precincts reporting, Republican Daniel Webster had 56 percent of the vote to Grayson’s 38 in their central Florida district around Orlando on Tuesday. Webster is one of Florida’s most experienced Republican politicians, with 28 years in the Florida Legislature.
I have to admit taking this news with some glee. Grayson was an embarrassment to the entire country, if not the human race.
South Carolina Republican Tim Scott made history Tuesday night by becoming the first African-American Republican to be elected to Congress from the Deep South since Reconstruction and the first African-American Republican congressman since J.C. Watts in 2003.
Elected to South Carolina’s First District — a coastal area running from Charleston to Myrtle Beach — Scott is a veritable Tea Party representative, not only receiving endorsements from Sarah Palin and Tea Party activists, but also telling The Daily Caller in July that he was more inclined to join the Tea Party Caucus than the Congressional Black Caucus.
Running on a platform of fiscal restraint, repeal of the health care law, low taxes, and smaller government, Scott’s message won the day.
“Voters are more interested in your issues than in any other characteristic,” Scott told a Newsweek in June.
“Nonetheless, the ability of South Carolina’s white Republicans to get behind a black candidate, even a conservative one, may strike some political observers as remarkable, particularly because South Carolina is arguably the most unlikely of all Southern states to host such a racial breakthrough,” wrote Newsweek’s Ben Adler.
Despite the incredulity of Newsweek, the district where the Civil War commenced elected one of the 14 black Republicans seeking House seats this year.
Not too bad for a bunch of raaaaacists! Congratulations, Congressman Scott!
Preliminary exit polls showed that the party lost ground in Tuesday’s midterm elections among women, middle-income workers, whites, seniors and independent voters.
Driving the shift to the GOP: broad anxiety over the economy, as well as skepticism of big government and opposition to signature Democratic Party policy achievements, such as President Barack Obama’s economic stimulus package and the health-care overhaul.
The GOP better do some things to keep these people.
