Bernie Sanders
American Socialist Bernie Sanders

Hat/Tip to Fox News.

Self described Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders, Independent from Vermont, has announced he is challenging Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders announced Thursday he is running for president, giving Hillary Clinton her first official Democratic primary challenger.

At a press conference, the independent senator and self-described “democratic socialist” said he is “running to win,” though he faces long odds against Clinton’s juggernaut political operation — and several other potential Democratic candidates.

Sanders, in throwing his hat into the ring, urged the media to discuss “serious issues” and not turn the race for the White House into a soap opera. The white-haired populist preacher said America should refocus on income inequality and jobs. He also took a jab at political activist billionaires Charles and David Koch.

Sanders plans to hold an official launch on May 26 in Burlington, Vt. In an interview earlier with The Associated Press, Sanders promised to fight what he deems “obscene levels” of income disparity and a campaign finance system that is a “real disgrace.”

“After a year of travel, discussion and dialogue, I have decided to be a candidate for the Democratic nomination for president,” Sanders said in an email to his supporters. “But let’s be clear. This campaign is not about Bernie Sanders. It about a grassroots movement of Americans standing up and saying: ‘Enough is enough. This country and our government belong to all of us, not just a handful of billionaires

There Is No Room For Christians In Today’s Democratic Party According To Ted Cruz

Share

Ted Cruz

Hat/Tip to Doug Ross @ Journal.

It has been posited that Liberalism, that is today’s definition of the Liberal-Secular-Progressive is a mental disorder. That may be true and, in that same vein we have Senator Ted Cruz from Texas positing that within that movement, the Liberal-Secular-Progressive movement, or in other words, the Democratic Party that there is no room in that Party for Christians.

The title of Jonah Goldberg’s recent bestseller — Liberal Fascism — has become part of the modern political parlance.

Sen. Ted Cruz argued Saturday that Democrats have become so extreme and “intolerant” of religious views that “there is no room for Christians in today’s Democratic Party.”

“There is a liberal fascism that is dedicated to going after believing Christians who follow the biblical teaching on marriage,” the Texas Republican said in his speech before a Christian conservative audience in Waukee, Iowa…. For his part, Cruz alluded to business that faced pushback for declining to cater to same-sex weddings.

…As the Supreme Court gets ready to hear oral arguments on whether to overturn same-sex marriage bans in states, Cruz introduced legislation last week that would protect bans in place … “We need leaders who will stand unapologetically in defense of marriage,” he said.

The religion of today’s progressives is government. Big government. Unlimited government.

There is no room for people of faith in today’s Democrat Party.

Unfortunately, Senator Cruz is correct. There is no room anymore in the Democratic Party for Bible-reading, Jesus-believing Christians.

Why?

Because the modern Democratic Party is NO LONGER the same party that your parents and grandparents belonged to. It has been bastardized into a near Marxist, top-down, centralized government party that seeks to control every aspect of your lives.

Democratic Presidential Hopeful Courts Hollywood: And It’s A Man Baby!

Share

2010-poy-p72-

Hat/Tip to Tina Daunt at The Hollywood Reporter.

Yep, it’s kind of a foregone conclusion that if you’re a Democrat running for POTUS, then you HAVE to woo the Hollywood Libs.

*yuck*

You can’t be a serious Democratic presidential hopeful these days without a fundraising base in Hollywood, which is why former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley is back in town this week to meet with a loyal cadre of industry admirers.

O’Malley on Wednesday afternoon made a visit to Sony Studios, where he has longstanding relationships with a number of top executives. On Thursday evening, he’ll attend a high-wattage meet-and-greet hosted by Sony Pictures-Screen Gems senior production vp Eric Paquette and Dixon Slingerland, the Youth Policy Institute’s executive director, who raised nearly $1 million for Barack Obama‘s campaigns.

The evening event, which is set for the fashionable Republique restaurant on La Brea Ave., is expected to draw more than 50 industry Democrats and activists. It’s the second such affair Paquette has hosted for O’Malley, who is generally thought to be positioning himself as the alternative candidate to Hillary Clinton.

Although he significantly trails Clinton in support among entertainment industry moguls (Haim Saban and Casey Wasserman sent out emails this week asking for Clinton campaign donations), O’Malley’s left-of-center views have generated excitement among some Hollywood progressives who worry that the former Secretary of State has become too conservative.

O’Malley’s potential candidacy seems to be picking up the most traction among activists and contributors who came out early for Obama when he contested the nomination against Clinton. Sony Studios, meanwhile, has become a frequent West Coast stop for the former Maryland governor.

Hillary Lays The Smack Down On The Press: Gives Them Rules On How To Cover Her Campaign

Share
Over budget? What difference does it make?
It Ain’t News Unless I Say It’s News!!!

Hat/Tip to the Conservative Tribune.

The audacity of the Left.

But in reality, that IS the Left. They seek to control EVERYTHING except themselves.

With Hillary’s announcement of her presidential candidacy expected on Sunday, conservative pundits are already locking and loading for what promises to be a long drawn out battle.

Among those is Rush Limbaugh, the conservative talk show host famous for his sometimes edgy statements and reputation for telling it like it is.

Yesterday, he posted a picture of Hillary on Facebook along with a quite disturbing caption, which, if true, should make us all shudder. Here it is:

Hillz Tells Reporters What They Can Report

“The ground rules for how they will cover her campaign.”

What. The. Heck.

Ground Rules? Who does she think she is? WHERE does she think she is?

It’s bad enough that the liberal media is already bending over backwards to worship her, but now she’s actually telling them what they can and cannot do. Does the term “freedom of the press” mean nothing to this woman?

Does this statement mean that the press shouldn’t keep reporting on all the scandals she was involved in that are busy causing her polling numbers to drop? Or should they try to take pictures of her that actually make her look half human? (Not sure which would be harder.)

This is a truly disgusting and despicable demand of Hillary. She has absolutely no right to tell the media what they can do. In this country, we give the media free rein (we sometimes hate it, but it is necessary), because that is the hallmark of a free society.

A potential president should never be telling the media what they should and should not do — moreover, the media should never stand for such a thing.

If she’s acting like this now, what would she be like if the worst should happen and she were actually elected?

On Inauguration Day, will the Bible be replaced by a golden crown? Will she dub herself Queen Hillary for life? She’s acting like an authoritarian thug already, and it can only get worse.

You don’t see any potential Republican candidates having private lunches with the media demanding their allegiance and obedience. They accept that the media will do their job, and they deal with it.

Iowa Democrats: Someone Please Challenge Hillary

Share

hillary scared

Hat/Tip to Matt Vespa at TownHall.com.

It seems that more and more Democrats are wanting a primary, rather than a ‘coronation’.

Iowa Democratic leaders want something to happen during the caucuses; they want someone to challenge Hillary Clinton. They fear a “coronation” will deprive their voters of a discussion regarding the direction of the country. After all, this was a state that backed Obama in 2008 primaries and both presidential elections in 2008 and 2012. A lot of voters have seen this movie before concerning the inevitability/invincibility of Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Her numerous drawbacks have the far left of the Democratic Party concerned.

As previously mentioned within liberal circles, Hillary’s ties to Wall Street, the financial sector, and her lackluster campaign skills has this group of Democrats hesitant to rally behind her (via WSJ):

Iowa Democratic leaders say they are troubled by the prospect that Hillary Clinton could win the state’s 2016 presidential caucuses without a serious challenge, a view primarily rooted in a desire for a more liberal candidate or at least a robust debate about the party’s policies and direction.

Interviews with more than half of Democratic chiefs in Iowa’s 99 counties show a state party leadership so far reluctant to coalesce behind Mrs. Clinton. County Democratic officials also voiced qualms about Mrs. Clinton’s ability to win a general election and her fundraising ties to Wall Street firms and corporations, which remain a target of liberal ire.

Many county officials said they would like to see senators including Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Bernie Sanders of Vermont enter the race, though they were split over whether any could gain traction and overtake Mrs. Clinton.

“My heart wouldn’t be in it for Hillary to the extent that it might be if it was a different candidate,” said Jennifer Herrington, chair of the Page County Democrats in southwest Iowa. “I admire Hillary, she’d be a great president, but you know, she isn’t my first choice I guess.”

State Democratic officials also want a contested race because that boosts the party apparatus and fundraising. Mr. Obama’s 2008 campaign attracted scores of volunteers who remain active in the party. Various presidential hopefuls, moreover, serve as star attractions for fundraising dinners and barbecue cookouts across the state.

Republicans Promise To Do All They Can To Lose Big In 2016

Share
We want the same things Democrats want!
We want the same things Democrats want!

In the month since they won sweeping majorities in the House and Senate, Republican leaders have begun to sit down and plot a losing strategy for 2016.

“The American people have spoken and we have listened” declared the soon-to-be Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

They have sent a clear message that they want socialism.  They want big, intrusive government. They want redistribution of wealth.  They want America to become a socialist workers’ paradise.  Just not as quickly as the Democrats would do it.  That’s why we promise to continue Democratic policies.  But the march to socialism will be moderate.

Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) seconded the sentiments of McConnell.

What other possible interpretation of the midterm elections could you have?  The American people, in their righteous anger, voted Democrats out because we are at heart a center-right nation.  And we want a center-right socialist country.  The Democrats foolishly were going to establish income equality, redistribution of wealth and the abolition of private property.  Now granted, we will be doing the same thing. But slower.  People will have time to adjust. And when we do establish the socialist workers’ paradise on Earth you can bet Americans will be thankful we took a little extra time accomplishing this.

Senator John McCain (R-AZ) then talked about what the Republican majority hoped to accomplish in foreign policy during the next two years.

Nation building.  Nation building.  Nation building.  I can’t say it enough. We intend to spend the next two years getting into as many wars as we can.  The interests of America dictate that we do this.  And after we win the battle we will build permanent bases in these countries that can house our troops.  We will teach them Democracy and they will love us for this.  Naturally none of this will be cheap.  We will have to raise taxes.  And our interventions abroad will make people hate us which is why I am calling for an increase in the budget of Homeland Security.  There will be more screenings at airports with the resulting slower lines.  And there will be more random checks of backpacks in train stations and more cars pulled over and searched.  This will be unpleasant but we must sacrifice some of our freedoms if we want to bring our way of life to the rest of the world.

One other issue Republicans hope to tackle in the next two years is immigration reform.

“Blanket amnesty is the way to go” said Boehner.

It’s compassionate conservatism.  We hope to naturalize ten to 20 million Hispanics. We understand that the Hispanics will be voting Democrat but it’s not important that they vote for us.  As long as they become Americans.  We also understand that this might bring down wages.  But we will fight the capitalists and raise the minimum wage accordingly.  I also intend to introduce a bill making English and Spanish the official languages of America.

When asked if he was worried that this might offend the Republican base Boehner answered in the negative.

“The Republican leadership is not here to do the will of the base.  We are here to lead America forward.”

Congress’s first order of business when it reconvenes in January:  raising the debt ceiling.

“We can’t spend if we don’t do this” said McConnell.

Executing America

amnesty

Josh Earnest, White House Press Secretary

“The president has no authority to do this. It’s against the law.” — Senator Jeff Sessions

“The definition of a ‘sociopath’ is a person with an antisocial personality disorder. They are often well liked because of their charm and high charisma, but they do not usually care about other people. They think mainly of themselves and often blame others for the things that they do. They have a complete disregard for rules and lie constantly. They seldom feel guilt or learn from punishments.” Wayne Root

The Obama “mandate,” if such a thing ever existed, is, to coin a phrase, gone with the wind. Or, more precisely, gone with the electoral tsunami that swept the socialistsDemocrats out to sea by the boatload. Catastrophe at the ballot box made little difference, of course, to the unrepentant dictator who remained on dry land.  His response was to load his executive pen with poison ink sufficient enough to order a metaphorical plague of locusts on the ingrates who voted.  From global warming (which doesn’t exist) to illegal immigration (which does), Barack Obama plans to break the laws of the land to a degree unprecedented in American history:

  • On the other side of the world, Obama determined as ever to bypass Congress (CNN)
  • Obama to announce 10-point immigration plan via exec action as early as next week (Fox News)
  • Obama is prepared to spend the remainder of his term unleashing sweeping executive actions to combat global warming. (Politico)
  • This week, Obama came out in support of net neutrality, as he believes Internet services should be reclassified as a utility and something Americans have a right to. (ZDNet)

All of Obama’s illegal actions have one thing in common:  the majority of Americans oppose them.

What Americans want, however, and what Barack Obama plans to give them have always been two different things.  Take his legacy law, for example, that infamous piece of legislative legerdemain known as Obamacare:

One of the architects of the health care law was caught on camera saying the bill was written specifically so as not to be viewed as a tax. He then goes on to call American voters stupid…

“Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage, and basically, you know, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical to getting the thing to pass,”Jonathan Gruber said at the Annual Health Economics Conference.

Gruber was a key player in developing the law, and those remarks weren’t the only time an Obama adviser suggested the administration had pulled a fast one with the law.

“They proposed it and that passed because the American voters are too stupid to understand the difference,” he said.

Yes They Are

Folks who thought they’d be getting lower insurance premiums and better service ended up with neither:

As distasteful as they may find it, if Obama insists on continuing to violate the law by executive decree, come January, Washington’s new legislators must vote to impeach, convict, and remove him from office.  Anything less will render them and any future American Congress as vestigial an organ of governance as Caligula’s Senate.

Summed up, nicely ~

Last night, the talking points were already under way from Democrats on how now we must all work together, the time for partisanship is past.

No no, my dear Democrats. Given this election is a very specific and direct rejection of the policies that you and President Obama have espoused(in his own words), now is the time to work nonstop and eliminate those same policies in accordance with the will of the people.

Republicans, Conservatives. Please do remember as you are urged to act in a ‘bipartisan way’, what you have been called.

Here’s a list, compiled by Louisiana Mom since 2009, of names used for Republicans and Conservatives by Democrats and media:

6 Reasons We Need To Help Republicans Take The Senate Even Though They Stink

Share

RINO

Hat/Tip to John Hawkins at TownHall.com.

As Managing Editor of this site, I have a LOT of conversations with folks of all political stripes. I appreciate honest discourse and abhor name calling, straw-man arguments, emotional pleas and pretty much any argument, other than factual ones.

I’ve run across a number of folks as of late that believe the best course of action is, well…inaction. Yes, that’s right, doing nothing. For some reason these folks think that since 100% of the GOP candidates aren’t Tea Party candidates, then they have no choice but to sit home on election day, watch America decay, drink a beer and say, “I told you so!”

While that might just do wonders for their self esteem, it does absolutely nothing for the country they so adamantly profess to love SO MUCH that they’re willing to let socialism take hold fully to teach somebody or other a lesson. But there are plenty of reasons that they should hold their nose and pull the lever for the Republicans on the ticket on Tuesday of next week.

Here are six of them:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
6 Reasons We Need To Help Republicans Take The Senate Even Though They Stink
By John Hawkins
The Democratic Party is systematically destroying America and other than Barack Obama, no one deserves more blame for it than Harry Reid. He may be an excellent politician who runs circles around Mitch McConnell the way Bugs Bunny baffles Elmer Fudd, but he’s also a habitually dishonest, mean-spirited sociopath who cares absolutely nothing about the good of the country. The Democrat senators who put Reid into power and went along with Obama deserve to be punished for what they’ve done.
Certainly, that doesn’t mean the Republicans are wonderful. Just the fact that they allow themselves to be led by a mediocrity like Mitch McConnell tells you a lot. So does the fact that Ted Cruz is talked about as if he’s this wild-eyed, radical conservative. Don’t get me wrong: Ted Cruz is my favorite senator and I can’t say enough good things about him. But really, what makes Ted Cruz so special? That he’s smart? Aren’t senators supposed to be smart? Is he unique because he effectively attacks the Democrats? Aren’t Republicans supposed to do that? Is Ted Cruz a stand-out because he behaves as if he believes in all the things he said on the campaign trail? Really? Aren’t Republicans supposed to believe in the things they say on the campaign trail? In a sense, the most remarkable thing about Ted Cruz is that he IS so remarkable despite doing little more than what the average Republican in the Senate should be doing in the first place.
That being said, while we shouldn’t put the Senate Republicans up on a pedestal, we also shouldn’t underestimate how bad the Senate Democrats have become. So, why is it so important to beat the Democrats?
1) It helps check Obama’s power: Politically, what we’ve seen in recent years is that the party out of power benefits tremendously from hunkering down, saying “no” and refusing to cooperate. For the most part, the Republican Party has done just that. The problem with that approach is Barack Obama doesn’t care about the Constitution, doesn’t care about the law and is acting more like a king than a President. We’ve desperately needed the Republican Party to do more than meekly complain about it and they just haven’t stepped up to the plate because they’ve adopted the, “We’re out of power, so the best thing we can do is nothing” mentality. On the other hand, if Republicans control the House and the Senate, they will quite rightfully be expected to DO SOMETHING when Obama overreaches. How much will they do? How effective will they be? That’s hard to say with two pitiful sad sacks like John Boehner and Mitch McConnell in charge, but you can be guaranteed they’ll step it up simply because the media, the establishment and the general populace will now join grassroots conservatives in expecting them to take action. A Republican Party that is just as timid in the majority as they are in the minority has nothing to offer the country and they know that.
2) It enables Republicans to set the table for 2016: The House Republicans have more than 350 bills that have died in the Senate without a vote; yet they’re the ones getting blamed for being obstructionists. If the GOP controls the Senate, suddenly Democrats are going to have to start taking tough votes again. That means they’ll have to vote against popular legislation or even better, they’ll go along with Republicans, pass it and send it up to Obama. Then either Obama signs the bills into law or he becomes the obstructionist, vetoes the bills and gives our 2016 candidate strong issues to run on. Moreover, he puts the Democrat candidate in a tough spot. Do Democrats make their supporters angry by saying that the Republicans were right and Obama was wrong to veto the bill or do they continue to support his unpopular vetoes? Let’s leave their 2016 Presidential candidate defending an unpopular, obstructionist President while our candidate will have a readymade raft of popular issues to run on for once.
3) If we don’t get it done in 2014, we sure won’t get it done in 2016: This year, the number of Democrat senators up for reelection in red states is heavily tilted towards the Republican Party. In 2016, the math will run the other way and Republicans will have to defend 24 out of the 34 seats up for reelection. Moreover, most of those Democrat seats will be in safe districts while at least 10 of the Republican seats will likely be in competitive states. If Obama’s popularity continues to sink and we win the presidency, could we hold enough of those seats to keep the Senate? Yes, but obviously we need to pad our totals as much as possible this year to give us a chance to do that. If we’re going to have any kind of opportunity to move the ball forward on the deficit, Obamacare, foreign policy, taxes, protecting the 2nd Amendment or any of the other issues we care about, we’re going to need Republicans in the Senate that we can beat, threaten and cajole into doing the right thing.
4) It will improve the quality of GOP legislation: Putting Republicans in charge of the Senate will take a big excuse away from the Republicans on issues like immigration. Ironically, the reason the House leadership Republicans were so hell-bent on passing it this year was BECAUSE they feared the GOP would take over the Senate. Truthfully, they’d rather have a bad bill that codifies open borders and amnesty that they could blame on Harry Reid. Then, the line would have been something like, “We know it’s not the greatest bill, but what do you expect when we have to work with Harry Reid?” That same principle applies to Obamacare, the deficit and a number of other issues. If the GOP runs the House and the Senate, Republicans can’t take a show vote, then embrace some left-wing bill and blame it on the Democrats. Since the GOP leadership is comprised of country club Republican idiots, we still have to worry about the legislation they’ll pass, but at least we’ll be sure that it’ll be better than anything they could have done this year.
5) It’s a necessary rebuke of Obama: We all know that Democrats are never going to publicly admit that Barack Obama is the worst President in American history. However, even fanatically loyal, dumb Democrats can do basic addition and subtraction.
By the time Obamacare came up for a vote, the Democrats had control of the presidency, 60 seats in the Senate and 257 seats in the House. That is about as far as the scale can tip in their favor and so if the GOP ends up with overwhelming control in the House and a majority in the Senate, Obama will get the blame just as Jimmy Carter did for Ronald Reagan. Democrats can toss out all the propaganda they want, but if they know that moving way off to the Left will lead to crushing defeats at the ballot box, it will shake their nerve and they’re likely to be more moderate for a while out of fear. Like most Republican politicians, Democrat politicians care more about keeping their cushy jobs than anything else. That’s why we need to take some of those jobs away to change their behavior.
As an extra added bonus, it will give the Democrats a strong incentive to try to prevent Obama from further hurting the party with his outlandish executive orders. Will that slow him down? Maybe it will, maybe it won’t, but if he starts getting calls from senators, donors, activists, unions and the rest of the people he listens to telling him not to make any big moves, it may give him cold feet. Obama may not care about America, but even he doesn’t want to be remembered as another Jimmy Carter whose buffoonery ended up helping Republicans more than Democrats in the end
6) Senate Democrats need to be punished for what they’ve done: My days of telling people to vote for the “lesser of two evils” are over, but there are still times that you need to vote to punish the people in charge for doing the wrong thing. Are you going to let Democrats who voted for Obamacare get away with it? Are you going to reward them for enabling Barack Obama’s unconstitutional, un-American, and oftentimes illegal executive orders? When far left-wingers like Michelle Nunn in Georgia or Greg Orman in Kansas insult your intelligence by pretending not to be liberals, are you just going to take it? These people aren’t acting any differently than they would if their goal is to destroy the United States; so how can you just shrug that off? At a minimum, these Democrats who’ve hurt you, your children, and your country need to see their cushy jobs disappear for what their party has done to America.
Chinese State Media Demands US Citizens Be Disarmed
Share
Hat/Tip to Brandon Darby at Breitbart.
So the murderous regime that is the Chinese government is now seeing fit to lecture us on the 2nd Amendment.
The Chinese state-controlled media’s statement, titled “Innocent Blood Demands No Delay for US Gun Control,” is primarily focused on the Newtown tragedy in which 26 Americans were killed by a mad gunman. Twenty of the victims were young children.
The Chinese government stated, “Their blood and tears demand no delay for the U.S. gun control.”
It would seem that the Chinese powers that be feel that they need to engage in propaganda to subvert freedom. So they tell of tragic episodes when deranged people use a gun as their choice of weapon to slaughter innocent people, but they leave out the parts of the stories where lawful gun owners put an end to the shooters’ rampages.
In an apparent effort to restrict information to their populace, the Chinese government wrote of a number of US mass shootings but failed to mention they were either stopped by a citizen legally carrying a firearm or otherwise only occurred in the controversial gun-free zones that critics say make prime targets for madmen.
The Chinese government states:
The past six months have seen enough shooting rampages in the United States. Just three days ago, three people were shot dead at a shopping mall in Oregon. Two weeks ago, a football player shot his girlfriend dead and then committed suicide. Five months ago, 12 people were killed and 58 wounded in a shooting spree at a midnight screening of a Batman film in Colorado.
The government went on to express a strong dislike of the National Rifle Association while also attacking the Republican Party as somehow complicit in the violence. Conversely, the article heaps praise on the Democratic Party:
The Clinton government launched a series of gun control policies at the end of last century. And the Democrats lost the Congressional election in 1994 and the presidential election in 2000, with the shadow of the NRA present in both defeats.
Isn’t it ironic that a regime known for the slaughter and genocide of TENS OF MILLIONS of innocents is in favor of taking away the right to bear arms?
The current Chinese government, the communist People’s Republic of China, was established in a revolution led by Mao Zedong, who killed an estimated 40-70 million people with starvation, executions, and re-education camps.
Unreal: Democrats Accused Of Posing As Republican Election Judges In Colorado…
Share
electionjudge
Hat/Tip to WeaselZippers.
Seems there’s no limit to how low the left will stoop to rig elections…
You just can’t make some stuff up. This is one of those things.
Via Daily Caller:
The Colorado secretary of state is investigating allegations that some Boulder County Republican election judges are actually Democrats in disguise.
Boulder County GOP Chairwoman Ellyn Hilliard initially raised the alarm when visiting polling locations where she didn’t recognize some of the GOP judges who are tasked with comparing voter signatures on mail ballots to protect against vote fraud.
She became alarmed when she noticed some ballots whose signatures clearly didn’t match those on file for the voter being accepted.
Deputy Secretary of State Suzanne Staiert began investigating and confirmed to the Daily Camera that she found “some troubling inconsistencies with some election judges.”
“One of them was a Democrat who had changed party affiliation on Oct. 10, so we are concerned that Boulder didn’t follow the list, then resorted to advertising for these positions,” she told the paper.
With exactly one week left until election day, the state of the race continues to take shape. Three major polling series have published their final pre-election national data this week. We told you yesterday about the NBC/WSJ survey giving Republicans a staggering 11-point lead on the Congressional ballot, which may be overly generous. CNN’s new poll is an outlier in the opposite direction, giving Democrats a one-point advantage with likely voters. Tellingly, it took a preposterous D+10 sample to achieve that number — which smells rancid even to those of us who’ve grown intensely skeptical of poll “unskewing.” Despite that double-digit partisan sample lead (the 2012 electorate was D+6 in 2012, and D+0 in 2010), Democrats are still tied on the ballot question, a majority of respondents still disapprove of President Obama’s job performance, and the GOP leads among independents by 17 points.  Fresh numbers from the Washington Post and ABC News effectively split the difference.  Advantage, Republicans:
Republicans enter the final week of the midterm campaign holding higher ground than the Democrats, aided by public dissatisfaction with President Obama’s leadership, with the overall direction of the country and with the federal government’s ability to deal with major problems, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll. Driving attitudes is a pervasive sense of a country in trouble. Overwhelming majorities say the country is badly off-track and give the economy negative ratings. Economic expectations are little better today than they were at this time four years ago. Six in 10 say they cannot trust the government in Washington to do what is right — the same as a year ago in the aftermath of the government shutdown and the botched rollout of the federal Web site for the Affordable Care Act. With multiple crises confronting the country — including the spread of Ebola in West Africa and cases here at home, as well as threats from Islamic State militants — a majority now says the government’s ability to deal with big problems has declined in the past few years. Among those who say this, more — by 3 to 1 — blame Obama and the Democrats rather than Republicans in Congress.
Even the far left Washington Post’s poll, which interviewed 3 Democrats for every Republican STILL puts the GOP up by 6 points!
(1) Republicans lead by six points (50-44) on the generic Congressional ballot among likely voters. Democrats’ gender gap with women is just five points, while men back the GOP by a massive margin (56/39)
(2) President Obama’s approval rating remains mired in the low 40’s with a majority expressing dissatisfaction, (42/56) among LV’s. Nearly half of respondents who say Obama is a factor in their vote, and they break against the president’s party by a two-to-one margin.
(3) Independent LV’s are breaking dramatically for the GOP, at (54/37).
(4) Republicans lead by five points on the question of which party is best prepared to handle the country’s “main problems.” And then there’s this…
Guy Benson sums his article up nicely:
I’ll leave you with a national security-themed closing argument from the RNC, focusing on reports that President Obama is developing a plan to close the Guantanamo Bay terrorist detention facility, in defiance of Congress’ clear will and lopsided public opinion:
What Hillary Meant To Say Is, “If you like your job, you can keep your job”
Here comes the spin! Last week millionaire Democrat Hillary Clinton teamed up with populist uber-leftist millionaire Elizabeth “Fauxcahontas” Warren to deliver a zinger aimed at American businesses:
“Don’t let anybody tell you that it’s corporations and businesses that create jobs.”
She’s a Statist. Statists believe only the government can create jobs. (Or Vernon Jordan, if you count creating jobs for Bill’s mistresses.)
We get it, we didn’t build that.
But, after enduring a weekend of ridicule (except on the Big 3 networks of course) The Hilldabeest backtracked, and blamed her “misstatement” on an internet video.
“Trickle down economics has failed. I short-handed this point the other day, so let me be absolutely clear about what I’ve been saying for a couple of decades,” she said. “Our economy grows when businesses and entrepreneurs create good-paying jobs here in America and workers and families are empowered to build from the bottom up and the middle out — not when we hand out tax breaks for corporations that outsource jobs or stash their profits overseas.”
Yeah, I can see how that mouthful could be easily confused, tongue-twisted even, into “Don’t let anybody tell you that it’s corporations and businesses that create jobs.”
Sure thing Hill. Because, at this point, what difference does it make? We know you’re a godless commie. And you know that we know that you’re a godless commie. So really, stop pretending. Tell us the truth, all the time. We can take it.
The real question is, can you?
ObamaCare To Force Thousands Out of Health Care Plans With New Cancellations
Share
ObamaCare Cancellations
If I had the time to do so, I could point you to countless posts, both on this blog and on others, warning Americans of the “unintended” consequences of the monstrosity known as ObamaCare. The biggest consequence came in direct contradiction of the lie repeated, ad nauseam, by President Obama that if you liked your health care plan or your doctor, you could keep your health care plan and doctor. That has already been proven to be false, but as I write this post, there are plans to make it even more so. Thirteen states and the District of Columbia will be announcing shortly that the health care plans they offer, that do not meet the “high standards” of ObamaCare, will be canceled.
You see, President Obama asked these states to grant reprieves from the high standards of ObamaCare. It was one of the many exemptions provided by President Obama and the staff he had put in place to administer ObamaCare. These states are no longer willing to go along with the farce, so they will be canceling those plans.
Fox News – In coming weeks, 13 states and the District of Columbia plan to cancel such policies, which generally fall out of compliance with the Affordable Care Act because they don’t offer the level of coverage the law requires.
Virginia will be hardest hit, with 250,000 policies expected to be canceled.
And because federal law requires a 60-day notice of any plan changes, voters will be notified no later than November 1, right before the Nov. 4 midterms.
Many of those forced out of their current plans and into ObamaCare may not be able to keep their doctors. They also could face higher deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses, making ObamaCare an election issue on the eve of voting.
Obama had originally unequivocally promised that underhis health care plan, everyone could keep their doctors and plans.
In 2009, he told the American Medical Association, “If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period.If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period.No one will take it away. No matter what.”
Now, I am sure things will soon be better for the several hundred thousand people who will be facing cancellation of their current health care plans. No doubt, middle-aged couples who are past their childbearing years will be able to receive what they always wanted and needed. Maternity coverage is sure to be one of the staples of the new plan. After all, doesn’t ObamaCare require new health care plans to provide maternity coverage? And if that isn’t enough of a slap in the face, I am sure they will be able to receive free birth control coverage as well. I think that’s a new fundamental right for all Americans, men and women alike.
All sarcasm aside, the flaws and faults of ObamaCare are becoming more evident every day. We were already faced with cancellations and higher costs for health care. Now we have more cancellations and who knows what else coming down the pike. It’s such a flawed bill that I am honestly surprised that President Obama has tried to ram another bill down our throats to provide “fixes” for what is wrong. Instead, he just has his people make changes on the fly, without the consent of Congress and with no regard to the American people.
Would you like to know what happens when a government tries to force citizens into programs they neither want or need, all for the common good? Just take a look at ObamaCare. It is a prime example of exactly that. We are being told some of these things are unintended consequences, but I refuse to buy into that lie. ObamaCare was designed to fail and to push us towards the Holy Grail of all liberal goals; single payer health care. That’s what they have pursued for years and ObamaCare is a step in that direction.
I really hate to see these cancellations, as they will be hard to deal with for many families. My only hope is this. With the announcement having to come, by law, no later than November 1, I wonder if enough Americans will finally see and understand exactly how much of a failure ObamaCare really is. If they do, I am hopeful that they will remember who it was that passed the Affordable Health Care Act, by hook and by crook. I’ll give them a hint. It wasn’t the Republican Party or the Tea Party, but the Democrats who forced this travesty on the American people. I hope they punish with brute force in the midterm elections on November 4th.
