These clowns can’t get anything right. Today’s Obamacare debacle? 800,000 bogus tax forms.

The White House has some bad news for those ObamaCare-insured taxpayers who prepared for early tax filing — or actually had already filed. That form that they sent out about premiums and subsidies? More than ten percent of them turned out to be wrong, so … you’ll have to either wait to calculate your taxes, or have a do-over.

They’ll mail corrected forms “soon.”

Hey, filing your taxes wasn’t painful enough, right?

It’s not just the federal exchange, either. The Covered California system issued 100,000 erroneous tax forms, too. The AP has no word on other state exchanges, but it’s beginning to look like ObamaCare may snarl tax preparation for weeks.

But don’t worry, your health care is in the very best of hands!

Really. You’d think Obama would take a few minutes from playing golf or apologizing to Muslims to make sure his signature legislation isn’t screwing over the people he’s claiming to help.

Nope.

Meanwhile, HHS has Hillary’s back — if a low-information voter has been living under a rock for the past 5 years she can still sign up for Obamacare even though enrollments are technically “closed” for 2015.

The Obama administration said it would allow people to sign up for plans on HealthCare.gov through April to avoid tax penalties for going uncovered in 2015.

The extension, which adds more than two months to the enrollment period for health coverage this year, was announced by Health and Human Services officials on Friday.

People who pay penalties for going uncovered in 2014 and are still uninsured will be allowed to visit HealthCare.gov until the end of April, said Andy Slavitt, principal deputy administrator at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the HHS unit overseeing implementation of the law. They will be able to apply for coverage starting March 15 as long as they attest that they didn’t learn about the health law’s requirement to carry insurance or pay the fine when they filed their taxes. The site had closed Sunday for most users.

Democrats were in a panic that their voters would get socked with two tax penalties this year, and take it out on Hillary Clinton’s presidential ambitions in 2016.

Besides, deadlines are for suckers. Obama’s minions just rewrite the law to suit their whims, because, uh, it’s good to be king!

It’s us peons who have to live with the fallout. Good thing I haven’t filed my taxes yet.

HHS Secretary Sylvia Burwell

ObamaCare is “working” dontcha know, except for that pesky affordability thing. Sylvia Burwell came to Newark today, to shill for her boss’s signature statutory sensation, and she inadvertantly told the truth.

Burwell acknowledged that affordability is still a high hurdle for many, however. Affordability, whether in the cost of the premium, the deductible, co-payments or co-insurance “is one of the fundamental issues” keeping people from getting health insurance, she said.

“We need to work on putting downward pressure on those costs,” Burwell said.

So, a fundamental issue with ObamaCare is affordability. Even though its official name is The AffordableCare Act.

Gee, a cynic might think they lied to us about that “affordable” thing.

ObamaCare has done nothing to constrain costs. In fact, it has added costs to virtually everyone’s health insurance bills for coverages none of us ever wanted or needed. The point is for guys like me to subsidize health care for layabouts, feminuts, and illegal aliens. And with a 2015 premium increase of 28%, I can assure you, I’m subsidizing more than my “fair share.”

I’m not alone. I can point you to thousands of people in the same boat. We’re paying more money for crappier coverage. Higher deductibles. Shrunken networks. Fewer doctors. Unrenewable prescriptions.

It’s deliberate. And if we don’t stand up and yell “STOP,” it’s never gonna end. The Obamunists are determined to redistribute our hard-earned dollars to their voting bloc, because holding on to power is their only goal. The Affordable Care Act was never meant to reduce costs or make health care “affordable.” Its only purpose was to create havoc in the health insurance marketplace so that government could step in to regulate our choices.

Mission accomplished.

They’re from the government and they’re here to help.

Alas, vestiges of freedom linger. Liberty isn’t (yet) a dirty word. We are at a crossroads. ObamaCare, or America, must die. We can’t have both. The Founding Fathers chose independence. We must not countenance nullification of their vision.

Obama’s Executive Amnesty: Gateway To ObamaCare For Illegal Aliens

Share

 photo ObamaIllegalAliensCrossing_zpsb605a507.jpg

HHS Secretary Sylvia Burwell let the cat out of the bag.

Health and Human Services chief Sylvia Burwell made an appeal for immigration reform and extending ObamaCare benefits to DREAM-eligible illegal immigrants on Tuesday while promoting the health-care law.

Burwell was touting the upcoming ObamaCare enrollment period, which begins Saturday, on a webcast with several Latina bloggers when she stepped outside her typical domain and advocated for a change in immigration policy.

“DREAMers are not able to be covered in the marketplace,” Burwell said in response to a question about whether families with mixed immigration statuses can get ObamaCare coverage. “And this is an issue that I think is more than a health care issue — it is an immigration issue.”

“And I think everyone probably knows that this administration feels incredibly strongly about the fact that we need to fix that. We need to reform the system and make the changes that we need that will lead to benefits in everything from health care to economics to so many things — a very important step that we need to take as a nation,” the secretary said.

Only legal immigrants are eligible for ObamaCare benefits, but pro-immigration groups have advocated that ObamaCare benefits should be extended to illegal immigrants as well. A number organizations, including the National Council of La Raza and the AFL-CIO, have asked the Obama administration to mandate ObamaCare exchange eligibility for DREAMers — illegal immigrations who are granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status.

Hey, he’s “going big,” right? What’s bigger than rewriting ObamaCare on the fly to include eligibility for illegal aliens? Laws mean whatever His Imperial Majesty says they mean! And he means to remake America, by any means necessary.

This year’s projected ObamaCare enrollment numbers have already been revised downward. What better way to bump those numbers back up than to add millions of illegal aliens to the mix?

Besides, the more people who are dependent on ObamaCare, and its taxpayer subsidies, the harder it becomes for John Roberts to follow the letter of the law and invalidate those subsidies.

Immigrants already make up the vast majority of the ObamaCare Medicaid expansion. Add in the DREAMers and Medicaid gets even bigger. Government handouts for everybody!

From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.

Here’s Commissar Burwell, already giving immigration enforcement a wink and a nod:

“Everyone should come on [to the ObamaCare exchanges],” Burwell continued, “And folks should not be scared, because this is not information…no questions will be asked, this is not an immigration issue.”

Remember when they had to boot off thousands of ObamaCare customers who couldn’t validate their immigration status? Yeah, they don’t want to do that again. Ever.

So, they won’t.

Because he’s got a pen dontcha know.

Fortunately we’ve got the Constitution.

In a recent op-ed in Politico, Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., said Congress would stop Obama from taking executive action by adding language explicitly barring money from being used for that purpose. “Congress has the power of the purse. The President cannot spend a dime unless Congress appropriates it,” Sessions wrote. He also pointed out that similar language in the past has prevented the president from closing the Guantanamo Bay prison camp.

Get Ready For The New And Improved healthcare.gov, Now With “Waiting Rooms”

Share

obamacare-marketplace

It’s T minus 5 days and counting for the debut of Healthcare.gov V2.0. On November 15th the second wave of ObamacCare signups goes live, and this time HHS officials are confident that they’re almost ready. But in case they’re not, you can pass the time in our of their snazzy new digital waiting rooms.

With the next time to buy health plans under the Affordable Care Act starting in less than a week, the Obama administration is expressing confidence that HealthCare.gov is no longer the rickety online insurance marketplace that exasperated consumers a year ago.

Behind the scenes, however, federal health officials and government contractors are scrambling, according to confidential documents and federal and outside experts familiar with this work. They have been making contingency plans in case the information technology or other aspects prove less sturdy than the administration predicts. And some preparations are coming down to the wire.

The confidential documents written in recent weeks hint at elaborate backup planning that undercuts the administration’s predictions that an improved HealthCare.gov will be able to handle everyone who wants to sign up.

One document from late October, for instance, describes a new system known as “throttling,” which will be deployed if the number of people trying to use HealthCare.gov at the same time strains the Web site’s enlarged capacity.

This throttling could send groups of people using different parts of the site into separate online “waiting rooms.”

The doctor won’t see you now. And neither will the website.

Their preparations certainly don’t inspire confidence, eh? They know how many enrollees to expect. They’ve had a year to get it right. And yet, “waiting rooms.” No doubt complete with year-old magazines and bad vending machine coffee.

Oh, by the way, they forgot to send you the instructions.

Other confidential CMS documents show that federal health officials drafted contingency plans involving notices for people who have insurance through the exchanges. The notices provide important information, such as whether enrollees appear eligible for federal subsidies for the coming year.

The notices were supposed to be in consumers’ hands by Nov. 1. But by the third week of October, a document says, fewer than 1 million of 7.6 million notices were ready to be mailed or e-mailed. Officials considered sending some late to certain groups, sending skimpier notices or reducing the size of ones delivered electronically. In the end, technicians fixed a computer problem, and the notices are going out in batches that are due to arrive by Saturday, when enrollment begins.

Ever notice how the Obamabots never seem to have trouble sending you their fund-raising emails? But critical information on ObamaCare? That they can’t get straight.

Maybe they’ll post the instructions in the waiting rooms.

Kaboom! SCOTUS To Decide Whether healthcare.gov Enrollees Are Eligible For Subsidies

Share

supreme court

Just when you thought this week’s good news couldn’t get any better…

The Supreme Court has snatched the Halbig case out from the clutches of Obama’s lefty-packed D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.

How big a deal is this?

HUGE.

As in, earth-shattering kaboom huge.

The Supreme Court, moving back into the abiding controversy over the Affordable Care Act, agreed early Friday afternoon to decide how far the federal government can extend its program of subsidies to buyers of health insurance. At issue is whether the program of tax credits applies only in the consumer marketplaces set up by sixteen states, and not at federally operated sites in thirty-four states.

Some of this stuff is real inside baseball, but it’s important, so bear with me. SCOTUS only intervenes when there are split decisions at the circuit court level. In King v Burwell the Fourth Circuit upheld the subsidies. But at the same time, a three-judge panel of the D.C. Circuit court disagreed.

It was a Category Five ObamaCare tornado in July when a three-judge panel on the D.C. Circuit agreed with conservatives and ruled that the text of the O-Care statute does not allow subsidies for people who bought their policies on the federal exchange, i.e. Healthcare.gov. Only if you bought your policy through an exchange created by a state are you eligible for help from Uncle Sam. That ruling is a nuclear bomb for the White House, obviously, because it would mean that the vast majority of new enrollees in O-Care would suddenly be on the hook for the full cost of their premiums. That would prove too expensive for many of those people, which would mean lots of dropped coverage and total chaos in the insurance industry.

It looked like Obamacare was heading back to the Supreme Court, when six weeks later the full D.C. Circuit decided to rehear the case en banc, throwing the three-judge panel’s ruling out the window.

Why would they do that? Because Obama packed the D.C. circuit court with a legion of far-left ideologues guaranteed to rule his way. You can thank Harry Reid nuking the Senate for helping him do that. Normally republicans would have been able to filibuster the most radical nominees, but they were rendered powerless by Reid.

The Halbig challenge to Obamacare was, apparently, dead.

Until today. SCOTUS’ action cuts the en banc D.C. circuit out of the loop, sending Obama and Reid’s court-packing scheme up in flames, and putting the future of Obamacare very much in doubt.

Why?

Because if SCOTUS was going to rule for the subsidies they didn’t have to do anything. The D.C. circuit court would do it for them, reversing Halbig and concurring with the Fourth Circuit’s King decision. No circuit split means no SCOTUS review, and no SCOTUS review means the subsidies remain intact.

The only reason for SCOTUS to review King is if there’s a good chance they will reverse the ruling. Ergo the likelyhood is extremely high that the Supreme Court will enforce the clear wording of the law, and render the subsidies in all but 16 states null and void.

Without those subsidies, Obamacare is dead.

Are you still with me? Because here’s where it gets fun.

The GOP won the Senate on Tuesday partly by vigorously campaigning against Obamacare. There is a strong desire among many republicans to repeal the law. But Obama would never sign a repeal bill, right?

So suppose SCOTUS neuters the law, and effectively repeals it for them. Then, instead of sending Obama a repeal, the GOP sends him a replacement, one that perhaps restores subsidies for federal exchange enrollees, but also eliminates all of the law’s onerous and questionably-Constitutional provisions, and includes the free-market reforms we’ve been trying to enact for years.

Does Obama dare veto it?

Stay tuned, this is gonna be good.

Having Failed to Learn From the First Debacle, Another ObamaCare Website Rollout Fails

Share

obamacare-marketplace

You’d think the Obamacare brain trust would have learned their lesson. But, no, they rolled out a companion website to Healthcare.gov, and it failed spectacularly too.

Another federal government-run website created under ObamaCare is suffering the same symptoms as the troubled federal health care exchange — grappling with delays, data problems and other hiccups as the deadline to take it public nears.

At issue is a database known as the Open Payments website. It was created under the Affordable Care Act to shed light on the financial ties between doctors and pharmaceutical companies as well as device manufacturers.

The transparency initiative is supposed to include detailed information about drug payments made by doctors as well as the value of gifts and services given by drug makers. Such items can include everything from meals to swanky retreats.

The database project, though, is dealing with a minefield of technical problems and confusion over the data. The problems led the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to shut down what is currently a private site for 11 days earlier this month.

The government is hoping to take the site public on Sept. 30. But it’s already a year behind schedule, and if some industry heavy hitters have it their way, the schedule will slip by another six months.

The data is hopelessly garbled. The procedure for registering is convoluted, and inaccurate. There are major technical glitches. And it’s more than a year behind schedule.

It’s deja vu all over again!

Obama Admin Defies SCOTUS, New HHS Mandates are a Distinction Without a Difference

Share

 photo scotushhshobbylobbyruling_zpsea5db27a.jpg
New HHS Secretary Sylvia Burwell, late of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s population control efforts, has again “revised” Obamacare’s anti-Catholic abortifascient and and birth control mandate. But her new regulations still firmly place the burden of providing life-destroying drugs and procedures on the employer.

Meet the new form, it’s functionally equivalent to the old form.

The new arrangement as a more complicated accounting gimmick, no different in effect than its predecessors.

Arina Grossu, Director for the Center for Human Dignity at the Family Research Council, said the amendment “is simply another clerical layer because the employer still remains the legal gateway by which these drugs and services will be provided to their employees. It’s very disappointing that the Obama administration is doubling down on its plans to punish charities and non-profits that assist the poor and homeless, who in some cases have nowhere else to turn for assistance.”

Although the Obama administration is still seeking comments for its final implementation of the new rule, the nation’s religious leaders concur that the latest change still fails to observe all Americans’ First Amendment freedom of religion.

“On initial review of the government’s summary of the regulations, we note with disappointment that the regulations would not broaden the ‘religious employer’ exemption to encompass all employers with sincerely held religious objections to the mandate,” Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), said on Friday. “Instead, the regulations would only modify the ‘accommodation,’ under which the mandate still applies and still requires provision of the objectionable coverage.”

“Also, by proposing to extend the ‘accommodation’ to the closely held for-profit employers that were wholly exempted by the Supreme Court’s recent decision in Hobby Lobby, the proposed regulations would effectively reduce, rather than expand, the scope of religious freedom,” he added.

Who gets the “opt-out” form is irrelevant. Forcing a religious organization to ask for the objectionable coverage is the real problem. Morally, Catholics cannot participate in any aspect of provisioning life-destroying drugs and procedures.

Instead of working with the USCCB, the Obama administration went back to the Kermit Gosnell Fan Club at Planned Parenthood for input on their “revised” mandate rules. And of course they baked in onerous penalties for anyone who follows his faith.

“Effective immediately, this latest rule still orders charities like the Little Sisters of the Poor, non-profit Christian colleges like Wheaton College, and religious broadcasters like EWTN to violate their consciences simply because they legally contract for health coverage,” Grossu continued. “The government uses their contract as the basis to force their insurers to provide their employees with free contraception and drugs that can kill human embryos, against their sincere conscientious beliefs.”

“If these charities and non-profits follow their conscience and decline to participate in the meaningless accounting gimmick, the administration will make them pay huge penalties accruable on a daily basis — one hundred dollars per employee per day,” she said.

“Additionally, the government is also soliciting comment on new ways to force family businesses to violate their deeply held moral and religious convictions due to the HHS mandate in an attempt to address and skirt the recent Supreme Court ruling. However, the government’s actions here still force family businesses to be complicit in what they view as morally wrong,” Grossu added.

Obama and his henchmen are being purposefully obtuse, thumbing their noses at the Supreme Court, and at religious Americans too. They are beholden to a cabal of radical feminists hell-bent on overthrowing all vestiges of traditional morality. They only respect the Progressive hegemony of the State, and all other forms of authority must be eradicated lest they instill doubt in the minds of the citizenry.

So everyone has to conform, or the invalidity of the State’s coercion will become all too apparent.

Fortunately, the Supreme Court has already told HHS they can’t do this. Alas, the price of Liberty is eternal vigilance.

GAO Says ObamaCare Website a Failure

Share

GAO report cites Obama Administration “management failure” for healthcare.gov rollout woes

Incompetence? From the Obama Administration? Surely you’re as shocked as I am!

But really, it’s true. The GAO says so.

A nonpartisan congressional investigation has concluded that management failures by the Obama administration set the stage for the computer woes that paralyzed President Barack Obama’s health care program website last fall, officials told The Associated Press.

The findings are in a report to be released Thursday by the Government Accountability Office, which has spent months investigating the health law’s chaotic rollout. GAO is the nonpartisan investigative agency of Congress.

The official report doesn’t come out until tomorrow, but Washington insiders are already leaking it to the media. And it doesn’t paint a very pretty picture of Dear Leader’s minions at HHS.

Among its conclusions:

· Contractors were not given a coherent plan, and instead they were kept jumping around from issue to issue.

· The cost of the project grew by tens of millions of dollars as the contractors tried to accommodate administration requests.

· CMS, the lead agency, failed to follow up on whether contractors were doing the work assigned to them, and to review that work for quality.

· CMS sent conflicting signals, at one point notifying one contractor it was so dissatisfied that it would start withholding payments, and then quickly rescinded that decision.

· The type of federal contract that the administration selected for HealthCare.gov was open-ended, which may have encouraged costly changes.

What else would you expect from a bunch of socialists who never built so much as a dog house on their own?

Even now, almost a year later, the thing is still held together with duct tape and bailing wire. The back-end remains largely dysfunctional. HHS can’t verify 1/3 of the applicants’ citizenship or income eligibility. And half of the new enrollees are in Medicaid, which has created a whole ‘nother kind of time bomb.

As my friend Bob used to say about bad news, “Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?”

In the 1950’s our government built the Interstate Highway System.

In the 1960’s our government put a man on the moon.

Today, not only can’t they build a website, or a highway, they can’t go back to the moon, or even get their own people up into space without help from the Russians.

But we’ve now got more Americans on food stamps than ever before.

Apparently this is “progress.” If you’re a liberal.

Government Screw-Ups-No One Is Ever Fired

Share

When I saw this headline on an entry at Foreign Policy.Com, my interest was piqued:

The Biggest Foreign Policy Screw-Up of 2013

I thought: “This has got to be good considering all of the competition in the screw-up category”. I was surprised when I read that the author, Daniel W. Drezner, choose this adminstration’s handling the Edward Snowden affair as this year’s worse screw-up. Specifically, he was talking about a time six weeks after Snowden fled the country and was in Russia seeking asylum. That when the government, using its proxies: Portugal, Spain, France, and Italy to refuse to allow Bolivian President Evo Morales’ plane to land for refueling while on his way back from a conference in Russia. The suspicion was that Evo Morales was providing passage to Snowden to Bolivia where he would be granted asylum. The plane finally had to make an emergency landing in Austria.

I don’t know how much coverage this story got in the US, but down here where I live it was a very big story. After all, Evo Morales is a bought and paid for ally of this country where I live and the local news was full of anti-American rhetoric. This was one time I had to agree with that rhetoric. Messing with the plane of the president of a sovereign nation is a very big deal. But, that is not what I want to talk about today. Drezner point to another bit of fallout from this incident. It clearly demonstrated that this administration had been lying about the importance of the material stolen by Snowden. Just a couple of weeks earlier Obama’s favorite Liar-for-Hire, Susan Rice,  said:

…the Obama administration was not weakened by Edward Snowden’s leaks, and that it was simply a difficult issue of the day.

Clearly, the US would not have forced the plane of Evo Morales to make an emergency landing, unless it really, really wanted to get its hands on Edward Snowden and the documents he had stolen.

One thing we have learned for sure about the Obama administration is that its words are not important but their actions are. And yesterday, as reported by Fox News, their words have caught-up with their actions on Edward Snowden:

The head of the National Security Agency task force assessing the effect of leaks by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden opened the door to the possibility of offering Snowden amnesty in exchange for documents — though his boss is not on board with the idea.

In an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes,” Rick Ledgett said that Snowden took “the keys to the kingdom” when he left the U.S. earlier this year and was granted temporary asylum in Russia.

So, Snowden took “the keys to the kingdom“? I guess someone forgot to tell Susan Rice, right? And, now, this administration is willing to entertain “amnesty” for Snowden if he will return the NSA secrets he stole? What did the Keystone Cops at the NSA allow this low-level nobody to steal? According to Ledgett, Snowden has over 1.7 million documents that show what the NSA is trying to learn from their spying activities and where the gaps in their knowledge are.

Oops! That’s not the kind of information you want to fall into the wrong hands; like Russia, maybe? It sounds like our  National Security Agency has a security problem. maybe they should hire a private security company to provide their security. UNBELIEVABLE!

So, was anyone fired for allow this security breach? Of course not. At least in the Obama administration, no one is ever fired for “screw-ups”.

The ATF screwed-up and allowed guns to walk into the hands of Mexico’s drug cartels. Was any one fired?

The State Department screwed-up the security in Benghazi, Libya, which got the Ambassador and three other Americans killed. Was any one fired?

The IRS was caught targeting conservative NGO’s. Was any one fired?

The so-called Justice Department was caught spying on news journalists. Was any one fired?

The HHS totally screwed-up the roll all of the biggest new social program (Obamacare) in 80 years. Was any one fired?

Your humble observer of the asylum we all have to live in has a suggestion. It’s time that We The People fired a few people. I’m thinking a good start would be to fire 435 Congress critters, 100 Senators, 1 president, and 9 Supreme Court Justices. Then we could get serious and start firing 100,000 or so bureaucrats.

Well, that’s what I’m thinking. What are your thoughts?

“I Promise!!” Barack Obama’s Great Deception on Obamacare Premiums

Share

money-stethescope

Remember way back to the 2008 Presidential campaign? Then Senator Obama made a promise, one he repeated over and over for the next few years. Here’s a reminder of what he said:

“If you’ve got insurance through your employer, you can keep your insurance. We estimate we can cut the average family’s premium by about $2,500 per year. If you don’t have health insurance, then we’re going to provide you the option of buying into the same kind of federal pool that both Sen. McCain and I enjoy as federal employees. We’re going to make sure insurance companies can’t discriminate on the basis of pre-existing conditions. We’ll negotiate with the drug companies for the cheapest available prices. We are going to invest in information technology to eliminate bureaucracy and make the system more efficient. We’ve got to put more money into preventive care.” – Senator Barack Obama, 2008

This figure that Obama kept spouting ad nauseum was derived from a memo by three Harvard professors that were unpaid advisers to the Obama campaign. Their memo cites their “best guess” of annual savings of $200 billion. They then divided that by the U.S. population, multiplied out to represent a family of four, then they rounded down to get to the $2500 figure.
However, we ultimately got confirmation of something that just about every logical thinking American knew for the truth – that Obamacare would not drive costs down, but it would have the opposite effect and inflate healthcare costs across the board.

“During his first run for president, Barack Obama made one very specific promise to voters: He would cut health insurance premiums for families by $2,500, and do so in his first term.
But it turns out that family premiums have increased by more than $3,000 since Obama’s vow, according to the latest annual Kaiser Family Foundation employee health benefits survey.
Premiums for employer-provided family coverage rose $3,065 — 24% — from 2008 to 2012, the Kaiser survey found. Even if you start counting in 2009, premiums have climbed $2,370.
What’s more, premiums climbed faster in Obama’s four years than they did in the previous four under President Bush, the survey data show.” – SOURCE

Now fast forward to today and what does Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius have to say about Obamacare?

“These folks will be moving into a really fully insured product for the first time, and so there may be a higher cost associated with getting into that market,” she said. “But we feel pretty strongly that with subsidies available to a lot of that population that they are really going to see much better benefit for the money that they’re spending.”
Ms. Sebelius added that those customers currently pay more for their health care if their plans have high out-of-pocket costs, high deductibles or exclude particular types of coverage, such as mental health treatment. She also said that some men and younger customers could see their rates increase while women and older customers could see their rates drop because the law restricts insurers’ ability to set rates based on age and gender.” – SOURCE

Now that the election is over, and Mr. Obama is safely ensconsed as President Obama for a second term, and as we are starting to see the mal effects of Obama’s policies more and more of the undeniable truth is being revealed.
But it isn’t only individual and family insurance costs that are costing more, the states are on the hook for billions more healthcare costs, as well.

“The additional cost to employers in states that do not expand Medicaid has been estimated as $1.3 billion a year. Of course, if Medicaid is expanded, that’s another fleecing for we, the taxpaying sheep. If we’re going to get our pockets picked anyway, subsidizing businesses sounds like it would be cheaper. And that’s what waiving the notorious “individual mandate” or business mandates amounts to, because the purpose of those mandates is to force every American to buy health insurance right away, rather than waiting until they get sick and invoking that “must cover pre-existing conditions” mandate.
Governor Rick Perry of Texas, which is resisting Medicaid expansion, made this point through a spokeswoman: “This is not free money from the federal government – it’s either being borrowed from China or taken out of taxpayers’ pockets. The state and federal government can’t afford the current Medicaid program as is, and it’s financially irresponsible to continue expanding a program that we know to be broken.”

War on Christians Escalates: Judge Forces Hobby Lobby to Violate Beliefs

Share

Notice that there seems to be a war on Christianity under way?  Well, the folks at Hobby lobby have noticed, as they  went to court to escape the the ObamaCare regulations that require them to provide coverage for the abortion pill.  Unfortunately, it seems that at least one federal judge seems t think that Religious Freedom really doesn’t exist.

LifeNews reported:

A federal judge has issued a ruling siding with the Obama administration saying that it has the right to force Hobby Lobby, a Christian-owned and run company, to pay for drugs for women that may cause abortions.

The privately held retail chain with more than 500 arts and crafts stores in 41 states filed a lawsuit against the Obama administration over its HHS mandate. The company says it would face $1.3 million in fines on a daily basis starting in January if it fails to comply with the mandate, which requires religious employers to pay for or refer women for abortion-cause drugs that violate their conscience or religious beliefs.

The lawsuit was filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma and the business says it is opposing the Health and Human Services “preventive services” mandate, which it says forces the Christian-owned-and-operated business to provide, without co-pay, the “morning after pill” and “week after pill” in their health insurance plan, or face crippling fines up to 1.3 million dollars per day.

“By being required to make a choice between sacrificing our faith or paying millions of dollars in fines, we essentially must choose which poison pill to swallow,” said David Green, Hobby Lobby CEO and founder. “We simply cannot abandon our religious beliefs to comply with this mandate.”

However, U.S. District Judge Joe Heaton issued a ruling late Monday rejecting Hobby Lobby’s request to block the mandate. Judge Heaton said that the company doesn’t qualify for an exemption because it is not a church or religious group.

Now, it would be simple to point out that Muslims would scream, and be heard, of they were forced to sell bacon.  Vegans would complain, sue, and win, if they were forced to eat veal.  However, Christians are systematically targeted and shot down by judges.  But,I think there is more to it than simple discrimination-it the concerted effort to punish and drive Christians, and more importantly, that Jesus guy, from all aspects of public life.

As I see it, there are two motivations for this…

1.  Under the socialist utopia, there shall be no God before government.  Christians, particularly the ones that actually believe on their faith, put God before any else, especially government.  This prevents them from being the good drones that the government indoctrination machine wants to produce.  Without good drones, the liberal utopia collapses under the doubt of it’s citizens.   So, Christians must be punished, discriminated against, ridiculed, and persecuted, lest other people listen, and come to know the Jesus guy.

2. The “boss” of liberalism does not like God, and has spent considerable effort on attacking the followers of the Jesus guy.  He’s used Cultural Marxism (political correctness), Communism, Fascism, the Alinsky Method, and a myriad of other tactics and schemes to attack the followers, and prevent more people from hearing or believing the words of the Jesus guy.  This is just the latest in a long line of aggressions.  I would think that they “boss” of liberalism see’s his end-game coming, and he is accelerating his efforts, all in an attempt to eliminate any reference, or reverence for the Jesus guy from our society.

Either way, this is potentially a big in for the left.  Either Hobby Lobby sells out their faith, which shows them to be weak in faith, and not good example-or they close.  Either way, the Christian influence in society is diminished, and less people are under the influence of that pesky Jesus.

A Tale of two Stories: Praying Priest and Pastor Arrested at White House, Occupiers Threw Smoke Bomb in January-no Arrests

Share

In an apparent escalation between the Obama administration and Christians, six people, including a priest and a pastor, were arrested at the White House fence last Thursday.  Their offence?  Praying.  Gateway Pundit has more…

World Net Daily reported on the arrests:

Six people peacefully protested the Obama administration’s mandate requiring employers to provide contraceptives, sterilization, and abortion-producing drugs by kneeling in prayer in front of the White House, and they quickly were arrested and whisked away by U.S. Park police.

The six people, including Wilde, of Priests for Life, and Rev. Pat Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition, organized the peaceful protest on the heels of a Priests for Life lawsuit filed against the Obama administration seeking to permanently block the implementation of the HHS mandate.

Um, praying in front of the White House warrants arrests?  I guess there shall be no other Gods than Obama.  But, in all seriousness, there is more to the story…

“Occupy Wall Street protesters have been occupying federal property for months, but when we kneel in prayer, the police are called in and we are arrested,” said Father Wilde, one of the protesters.

That is a rather compelling point.  And, in fact, the Occpods had a protest at the White House as well, including throwing a smoke bomb over the fence…

(AP)  WASHINGTON — An apparent smoke bomb was thrown over the fence of the White House as hundreds of Occupy protesters massed outside the gates.

The crowds were dispersed Tuesday night, and U.S. Secret Service spokesman George Ogilvie says there were no arrests in the incident.(emphasis added)

The article goes on to state that there were somewhere between 1000 and 1500 occupods at the January protest.

So, over 1000 protesters show up in January, and one throws a smoke bomb over the fence, and there are no arrests.  Then, last week, six individuals prayed, and were then arrested.

I almost want to think that the administration wants to escalate the conflict over the ObamaCare mandates.  It would certainly give the MSM something to talk about other than the economy.  And, it would send more of the STFU message to Christians.  For the administration, it would be win-win.
