dems to dump pelosi
Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Stephen Lynch wants to dump Nancy Pelosi so Dems can get House back

Hat/Tip to IOTWReport.com.

So even the Left has a point in which someone of their own can wear out her welcome…

Who’d A Thunk It?

There is growing consensus in the House is that their only chance to retake the House is to move Nancy Pelosi out the door.  Not even the biggest propagandist the democrats have in the tamestream media will not predict that happening in 2016.  Even the democrats like Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Stephen Lynch, who want to dump Pelosi knows it will take more than one election to regain their power.  I agree with him but while he thinks it will take two elections, I think a minimum of three will be needed.  Why?  Because Pelosi won’t step down until this term is up and republicans use her as the boogeyman under the bed to voters.  No one wants to see her back in power.

The democrats in the House are watching what’s happening in the senate with keen interest.  Harry Reid is stepping down and instead of Dick Durbin, who’s turn has come is watching as Chuck Schumer passes him by.  In fact, Durbin is being pushed out of leadership entirely.  Like a Mafia boss, Schumer wants people who owe their positions to him.  Elizabeth Warren and Claire McCaskill are likely contenders for number 2 and 3.

Democrats in the House are also looking to copy the Gingrich example.  The first thing Newt did was put the old bulls out to pasture.  Instead of the time honored tradition of awarding committee chairmanships by seniority, he picked them for their loyalty and their abilities.  Putting John Kasich, the current governor of Ohio, in charge of the budget is a perfect example.  It was he and not Bill Clinton who balanced the first budget in many years.  That also led to Newt’s downfall as you can turn the old bulls away but you can’t make them like it.

Everyone else knows, but one can only wonder if Pelosi herself will admit that she screwed up her party’s majority…?

Let’s face it, Steve Israel gave the democrats the House majority and Nancy Pelosi destroyed the party and lost the majority single handedly.  To fully understand how she did that, you need to see how Steve Israel orchestrated the takeover of the House.  He injected reality into the equation.  There were some districts in the country that just weren’t going to elect a liberal democrat no matter what.  In those districts, he recruited moderates that would make it difficult for the voters to distinguish between the candidates and it worked.  Thirty eight members of the democratic caucus were moderates. Sure, they voted against leadership sometimes but the democrats were in the driver’s seat and could afford a few defectors.

Then the democrats won control of the House and Pelosi decided she was elected Queen and not Speaker.  It became worse once Obama was elected. (Everything for everybody got worse under Obama)  Pelosi started writing all the bills in the privacy of her office and moderates had no access to her at all.  As a result, they had nothing to show to the voters and in 2010 most of them were defeated with the balance losing their seats in 2014.  Now, they are 59 seats down and they need a net gain of 30 seats to win the House back.

But will she stick it out or bow out?

By the end of this year or the first of next year, expect nancy pelosi to announce her retirement.  She’d rather retire than to be voted out as the minority leader in 2017.

Hat/Tip to the Conservative Tribune.

Well Nancy “One Too Many Facelifts” Pelosi did it again. This is the same woman who demanded Joe Wilson get censured for his outburst during the 2009 State of the Union address by President Obama.

Hmm, I guess when the person speaking is the head of the only Jewish state in existence, and when she disagrees with that person’s politics, then decorum be damned, she’s going to turn her back when he says something she doesn’t like.

Typical liberal, do what I say, not what I do.

Almost everyone present during Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to a special joint session of Congress on Tuesday gave a standing ovation when the Israeli prime minister said, “Even if Israel has to stand alone, Israel will stand.”

But not the former speaker of the House and current minority leader, Nancy Pelosi. She, instead, indulged herself in yet another of those acts of not-so-subtle craziness that have caused some to wonder whether she suffers from an actual mental disorder.

While those around her applauded, the California Democrat turned around and appeared to try to engage those sitting behind her in conversation.

“I was near tears throughout the prime minister’s speech — saddened by the insult to the intelligence of the United States as part of the P5 +1 nations, and saddened by the condescension toward our knowledge of the threat posed by Iran and our broader commitment to preventing nuclear proliferation,” she said in a statement (H/T PJ Media).

Later, while others in the Democrat Party, including President Barack Obama, decried the political theater that they claimed Netanyahu’s speech to be, Pelosi engaged in some political theater of her own.

Yes, she actually named America as one of the P5+1 nations while accusing someone else of condescension. Like Doc Holiday before her, her hypocrisy apparently knows no bounds.

Guns, Not Hot Air and Rhetoric – the Only Answer to the ISIS Problem

By Charlie Daniels

ISIS Aiming at Captured Iraqi Soldiers (AP Photo)
Photo posted to a militant website June 14th, 2014, allegedly showing fighters with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) aiming at captured Iraqi soldiers (AP Photo).

If anybody has ever asked for a no holds barred, no rules of engagement, kill or be killed war it is the bunch of bloodthirsty radical Islamic crazies who call themselves The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, ISIS or The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, ISIL. Levant also encompasses Israel.

They have done things that should remove any of the usual restraints practiced by civilized nations; they are inhuman demons, completely sold out to the powers of darkness and should be annihilated down to the last man standing – no prisoners taken.

They do not deserve a second chance, diplomacy or reprieve, they don’t deserve consideration because of a deprived childhood or being brought up in prejudiced surroundings, as Marie Harf at the State Department suggested, they crossed over the line between men and mad dogs when they decided to choose a side which buries children alive and burns human beings in cages, but then she missed the mark completely when she said , “We cannot kill our way out of this war.”

Tell that to Gen. George S. Patton.

Our president lacks the cajones to admit it, but they are following the early teachings of the Islamic religion. Therefore, Islamic terrorists who want to bring about a catastrophic world war that they believe will bring on the 12th or “hidden” Imam – also known as the Mahdi, depending on the branch of Islam – and a new Caliphate, which will signal the advent of Muslim dominance. And Islam will rule the world, putting all those who refuse to convert to the sword.

They are not only Islamic terrorists. They are Islamic conquerors, seizing and controlling large swaths of Middle Eastern territory and coldly killing off those who practice any religion other than the strict sect of Islam they embrace, complete with Sharia Law and the right to kill, on sight, Jews, Christians and Muslims of a different persuasion.

When the world is confronted with this kind of evil, new rules – or actually – no rules should come into play, because you cannot defeat this caliber of evil in traditional ways. The USA, and whoever else in the world has the good sense and courage to join us, has to loose our most elite troops with our most advanced weapons into the infested areas, root them out and destroy them, their weapons and their cyber and social media abilities.

It cannot be done with air power alone. These dogs are going to have to be pursued into the middle of populated areas, and there will be collateral damage. Our troops are humane and will avoid as much of it as possible, but the job cannot be done without collateral damage.

Another thing that would have to happen is for Obama, Kerry, Reid, Pelosi and Jarrett to get back out of the way and let a seasoned combat commander, with a lot of experience in urban warfare, completely control the deployment, method and movement of troops.

Our guys are the best, and if left alone without any of Washington’s pc interference, they can get the job done.

We could definitely use a coalition of partners who are willing to actually get their hands dirty, who would actually get involved with the shooting part of the effort, but the paper coalition Obama claims to have put together, with a couple of notable exceptions, are basically nothing more than fodder for conversation. It sounds good to say we have a coalition of 60 nations.

I believe the reason we have so much trouble putting a real meaningful and effective coalition together is because the world no longer trusts us. They are afraid that we’d walk out on them before the job is finished. Now who can blame them?

But if they could be assured that we would stay the course, I believe we would have many partners, because every civilized nation on earth wants ISIS destroyed.

We need people with guns, not diplomats with hot air and rhetoric, who “roundly condemn the inhuman actions of ISIL,” and respond to their horror by conferences and endless meetings, never devising a strategy or reaching a conclusion.

The only answer to the ISIS problem is to fight fire with a hotter fire. America has the means to make this happen.

And I think we all know what the obstacle is.

What do you think?

Pray for our troops and the peace of Jerusalem

God Bless America

Pelosi Demands Boehner Force Tax-Cheating Republican Resign…Ignores Tax-Cheating Charlie Rangel

Share

Representative-Michael-Grimm

Hat/Tip to Curt at FloppingAces.

Republican Michael Grimm from New York won re-election to the house despite pleading guilty to tax evasion.

Grimm faces up to three years in prison for a tax evasion scheme that concealed revenue and off-the-books cash payments to undocumented workers at the Healthalicious restaurant he co-owned and managed.

After pleading guilty, Grimm said he would not resign but also sounded apologetic.

“I am truly, truly sorry for the mistakes that I made. … As long as I am able to serve I am going to serve, as of right now I am still in the capacity to serve,” Grimm said Tuesday.

House Speaker John Boehner withheld comment until speaking with Grimm. House Republicans said Grimm’s future would likely be decided after the Christmas holiday.

Republicans stopped campaigning for him during the election but he won anyway. Now guess who is demanding his resignation?

Yup, the same lady who wouldn’t demand her own corrupt party members to resign:

“Now that the election is over, Congressman Grimm is finally admitting the truth to his constituents,” Pelosi said in a statement Tuesday morning. “Clearly, Speaker Boehner must insist that Congressman Grimm resign immediately.”

Guess this makes sense since she demanded “cold cash” Jefferson resign right? Eh, not so much.

Charlie Rangel?

He was censored for tax evasion and ten other ethic violations but still has Democrats supporting him for every election, and no demand of a resignation.

I’m all for demanding Grimm to resign but if Grimm goes, so should Rangel. In the end Grimm will be forced to resign because our party holds our members accountable.

Unlike Pelosi’s party.

Never Heard Of It

“Nancy Pelosi claimed Thursday she didn’t know who ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber is, after several tapes surfaced showing him gloating about how the law was written to take advantage of the stupidity of the American voter. Problem is, Gruber’s analysis of the law was cited extensively by her office back in 2009. Pelosi, the House Democratic leader, tried to downplay Gruber’s role during a press conference on Thursday. She claimed she doesn’t know who he is, and that he didn’t help write the law. ‘Let’s put him aside,’ she said.” – Fox News

“Ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly and pleasant things.” – Joel 3:5

‘Thou shalt not get found out’ is not one of God’s commandments… – Leonard Bacon

We’re a contentious bunch here in the U.S.A.  Always have been.  You could look it up.  Whether it’s Patriots vs King’s Men, North vs South, or Democrats vs Real Americans, 50 percent of us don’t much like the other 50 percent 100 percent of the time. But the six years of resolute arrogance, steely ineptitude, serial prevarication, and socialist buffoonery to which Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and the rest of the Jackass Axis has subjected the nation has those numbers changing faster than Clark Kent in a phone booth:

After the midterm elections that saw the Democratic Party suffer significant losses in Congress, a record-low 36% of Americans say they have a favorable opinion of the party … (Gallup)

***

A new Gallup poll released Tuesday showed that the majority of Americans trust the incoming Republican Congress over President Obama to set the nation on the right track. 53 percent of respondents indicated they preferred Republicans in Congress to lead the direction of the United States, while only 36 percent preferred Obama. (Washington Free Beacon)

***

[…] Gradually it is sinking in to Official Washington that the 2014 election could very well do to Democrats what the 1930 election did to Republicans: make them irrelevant for at least a generation. (Don Surber)

Legislatures

Treating the 10 Commandments like the 10 Suggestions hasn’t done Obama and the Dems much good.  The People are finally on to them.  Heck, even Barry’s media harlots are beginning to echo the words of Sheldon Cooper: What if something happens? I’d never forgive myself if I wasn’t at his bedside to say ‘I told you so.’

But the Democrats themselves have learned nothing from their election day drubbing. Dirty Harry, a.k.a. Senator Reid, the new minority leader, has drafted the faux Indian princess Red Lizzie Warren into a faux leadership role, i.e. “strategic policy adviser to the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee — a specially created position”(Politico), from which she can instruct the Faithful on the economic benefits of becoming more like Communist China. Obama2Barack Obama isdoubling down on every abhorrent Marxist idea he’s ever had.  And the demented Ms. Pelosi is babbling incoherently in a corner of the Rayburn Building where the sun never shines:

Was this the worst election for House Democrats since 1928? Or was it merely their worst since 1946? Either way, the results do not reflect well on the House Democratic leader, Nancy Pelosi — a conclusion that seems to have escaped Nancy Pelosi.

“I do not believe what happened the other night is a wave…”  She preferred to describe what happened in the House elections as “an ebb tide.”  If Democrats lose three of the five undecided races, they will have ebbed all the way back to the day Herbert Hoover won the presidency. (Nancy Pelosi, partisan warrior in denial)

No wonder anything that’s bad for this bunch of addle-pated lefties is by definition good for America.

Hat/Tip to WeaselZippers.

See the problem with the older politicians like Nancy Pelosi is that they forget that the internet exists. Or maybe they don’t understand how it works, I mean after all, that’s what staffers and interns are for, right?

Well anyway, she either doesn’t know, or doesn’t care because she has done it again.

That’s right. She’s lied.

* GASP!! *

And don’t expect this article to feature her lies down through the years the last two days. We just don’t have that kind of bandwidth! I mean, who do you think we are? WeaselZippers?

But I digress. The former Speaker of the House recently had some interesting comments on Jonathan Gruber.

Update: Busted.

March 18, 2010:

… On November 30th, Krugman wrote about the CBO report, relying on Gruber’s analysis. He, too, concluded it was “good news for reform advocates.” That same day, Harry Reid took to the floor of the Senate that same day, saying “just a few days ago an MIT economist — one of the nation’s foremost economists — a man by the name of Jonathan Gruber, analyzed our bill and concluded it will help Americans pay less and get more.”

Reid read from the piece on the floor of the Senate, saying that it provided substantiation from Gruber “who is one of the most respected economists in the world” that the Senate bill would reduce the deficit. Nancy Pelosi touted “the Gruber analysis” on the Speaker’s website.

Dude, where’s my exemption? 90% of the uninsured are now exempt from Obamacare penalties

Share

It seems like everybody is exempt from Obamacare, except me.

Today comes the breathtaking news that 90% of the remaining uninsured are exempt from paying the individual mandate tax penalty.

Almost 90% of the nation’s 30 million uninsured won’t pay a penalty under the Affordable Care Act in 2016 because of a growing batch of exemptions to the health-coverage requirement.

The architects of the health law wanted most Americans to carry insurance or pay a penalty. But an analysis by the Congressional Budget Office and the Joint Committee on Taxation said most of the uninsured will qualify for one or more exemptions.

Remember when John Roberts twisted the Constitution by deciding Obamacare was a “tax?”

Well, the joke’s on him. It’s a “tax” that virtually nobody has to pay.

The Obama administration has provided 14 ways people can avoid the fine based on hardships, including suffering domestic violence, experiencing substantial property damage from a fire or flood, and having a canceled insurance plan. Those come on top of exemptions carved out under the 2010 law for groups including illegal immigrants, members of Native American tribes and certain religious sects.

Factoring in the new exemptions, the congressional report in June lowered the number of people it expects to pay the fine in 2016 to four million, from its previous projection of six million. Also bringing down the total: At least 21 states have opted not to expand the Medicaid insurance program for lower earners under the health law, and those residents may be exempt from the penalty.

Dear Anybody Paying The Fine: You’re a schmuck.

“If your pajamas don’t fit well, you don’t need health insurance,” said Douglas Holtz-Eakin, former director of the Congressional Budget Office and president of the American Action Forum, a conservative think tank. “It basically waives the individual mandate.”

Yup, the catch-all exemption is “hardship.”

In December, a hardship application form was released that laid out the 14 exemptions. Among other things, people could avoid the penalty if a close family member had died recently, if they were facing eviction or if they had medical expenses that couldn’t be paid in the last 24 months and resulted in substantial debt.

Critics have assailed one exemption for people who “experienced another hardship obtaining health insurance” as too broad. That exemption asks for documentation if possible but doesn’t require it.

Hey, I “experienced hardship obtaining health insurance!” Aetna raised our rates so high we were forced into buying a craptacular Oxford plan which is still about 20% more expensive that what we paid last year. The renewal forms should be here in another month or so, I can’t wait to see what next year’s premium increase will look like. Because single guys paying for maternity and pediatric dental coverage is the epitome of fairness, or something.

And spare me the whole “cost sharing” nonsense. If cost sharing was actually the goal, there wouldn’t be so many damn exemptions from having to actually share some costs.

Nope, Obamacare was, and is, all about vote-buying. Exemptions exist because otherwise Democrats would have already gotten creamed in 2012, and the idea now is to soften their looming chances of losing the Senate in November. If people had to pay the true cost of Obamacare nobody would vote for Obama’s duplicious cronies.

The only thing Democrats care about is Power. They’ve got it, and they’ll do anything to keep it. You? Me? America? We’re, in the candid words of Nancy Pelosi, insignificant.

Political cartoonists are some of our most clever people. With simple caricatures and a few words they are able to capture the essence of an important issue facing the people. In my opinion, this cartoon which I borrowed from Zero Hedge, explains perfectly why Americans on Main Street do not feel like the government is working in your best interests.

 photo economycartoon_zps723beace.jpg

h/t @butifulabsurdt

That’s exactly right, isn’t it? The well being of the folks on Main Street was not a fundamental of interest to our central planners in Washington, D.C. Your well being was not a part of their calculus. Instead, they used your tax dollars and mortgaged the future earnings of your children and grandchildren and their children to prop up the banking cartel and their Wall Street cronies. One percent of the One Percent Club are enjoying a tremendous recovery while you are left sucking wind. Of course, they tell us that they saved from having to suffer a horrible economic melt down, which is true, but what they don’t tell us is that their methods are setting the stage for a much worse melt down in the near future. That is not a flaw in their plan; it’s a feature.

The President doesn’t give a damn about you folks on Main Street. Oh, he talks a good game. He fancies himself as the Middle Class Warrior. Really? What the hell has he done for middle class since he’s been president; other than screw them over by making them pay through the nose for his unaffordable Affordable Care Act and flood the country with illegal immigrants to help his US Chamber of Commerce cronies keep their labor cost down.

Does anybody really think the likes of John Boehner, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and John McClain go to their offices every day to represent you? They are only interested in protecting their positions of power and getting reelected. Period! The sad truth is, with few exceptions, people do not get into politics to serve you. They get into politics to benefit themselves.

The nation’s Attorney General hates you. He thinks you are all a bunch of racist cowards. The IRS thinks you are all A-holes. The EPA is working overtime to raise your cost of living and lower your standard of living. The CIA sees you as pawns in their game of geo-political chess. And, the NSA thinks you have no rights at all.

Judge Andrew Napalitano use to open his program with this question: “Does the government work for you or do you work for the government?”  The answer is pretty clear, isn’t it?

Well, that’s what I’m thinking. What are your thoughts?

How To Fight The Democrat Rhetoric On Illegal Immigration By Using The Truth

Share

 photo immigration-Policy_zpsde2e0456.jpg

Would you care to venture a guess about what I find so interesting, possibly even humorous, about the conversation that is constantly going on between liberals and conservatives? While you are pondering that question, I’ll give you a hint. Facts are strange things. They usually pop up on the radar when you least expect them and sometimes, when you least need them to appear. Especially if your side of the conversation is used to playing fast and loose with the facts that supposedly support your argument. Facts are apt to rise up and slap you down, making you and your argument look foolish and inept. If we could only get some of these facts into the light of day, it is entirely possible the American people would smell the coffee and wake up to realize what kind of bill of goods they have purchased from the liberals.

As I was browsing through some of my morning reading, I came across an article from John Hayward that highlights our need to expose some of these facts. It is, as is usually the case, a very entertaining read. It is also spot on with the criticism it contains. Aimed at both sides of the political aisle, Hayward strives to explain how those facts need to come out and how we can help make that happen.

One of the first things that captured my attention was his quote of ABC’s recount of the exchange that took place between Representative Tom Marino, R-PA and Democrat Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. I wouldn’t have minded being in the room for that one, as it sounds like it was entertaining. It had to do with Marino having the nerve to bring up a couple of facts that Pelosi couldn’t escape.

“You know something that I find quite interesting about the other side? Under the leadership of the former Speaker [Pelosi], and under the leadership of their former leader [Rep. Steny Hoyer], when in 2009 and 2010, they had the House, the Senate and the White House, and they knew this problem existed,” he continued. “They didn’t have the strength to go after it back then. But now are trying to make a political issue out of it now.”

Off-mic, Pelosi then approached Marino, crossing the aisle in view of cameras, and apparently challenged Marino’s assertion that Democrats did not do anything about the issue when they had majority control.

“Yes it is true,” Marino replied directly to Pelosi, who was House speaker in those years. “I did the research on it. You might want to try it. You might want to try it, Madam Leader. Do the research on it. Do the research. I did it. That’s one thing that you don’t do.”

Marino then urged lawmakers to support the border supplemental “because apparently I hit the right nerve.”

After Marino concluded his remarks and as many Republicans applauded their colleague, Pelosi crossed the chamber again in view of cameras, enraged, pointing and sticking her finger at Marino.

She then followed Marino up a Republican aisle, gesturing and arguing with him. Lawmakers on the GOP side gathered in dismay as one spoke out to tell the chair that the House was not in order, in an effort to halt the bickering.

Pelosi finally relented after Republicans tried to get between Pelosi and Marino, and she returned to the Democratic side of the chamber. The House then promptly voted to approve the $694 million border supplemental, 223-189.

Yes, facts are pesky things. Pelosi found it hard to reconcile the political rhetoric her side has used to enhance their position on illegal immigration with the truth. Somehow, I don’t think the truth set her free this time, simply because she is choosing to ignore the facts. The Democrats had the chance to do something about illegal immigration when they had complete control of the government and they chose to ignore it. Hmmm…

John Hayward is never slow to offer his thoughts about how the Republicans are managing to mishandle their opportunities to do things the right way. Here is a little constructive criticism he wrote down.

Human Events – Okay, let me try to be a constructive little raincloud: the way Republicans can win the long game is by following Rep. Merino’s lead.  Pelosi’s fuses blew for a good reason – she knows her party cannot withstand arguments based on American interest, the rule of law, and an accurate history of the Democrat Congress, which rather pointedly illustrates just how seriously they took “immigration reform” until they saw an opportunity for political profit.  Get the full story of the carnage Obama has created on the border with his reckless executive orders out there (it’s far worse than the American media is willing to admit.)

Don’t let yourself be bullied out of making the simple point that the American Congress and American Administration are supposed to be looking out for American interests first – something you’d never know from listening to the likes of Luis Gutierrez.  Democrats are counting on using racial politics to influence the vote among legal Hispanic citizens in the next few elections.  Don’t be afraid to ask those citizens if they relish getting in line for jobs and social services behind a huge incoming population of illegal aliens.

Point out that an anemic economy limping through years of high-unemployment semi-recovery is not well-positioned to absorb a large number of new job-seekers, nor is a government drowning in Obama’s debt financially able to take on a vast number of new dependents.  And never stop making that devastating, irrefutable point that immigration policy is all about the rule of law, which weighs so heavily upon the heavily-taxed and hyper-regulated citizens of the United States, but seems to mean nothing to Democrats when discussing the southern border.

Those are the appeals Democrats want to intimidate Republicans out of using, precisely because they know how effective those appeals will be.

I realize conservatives have a difficult time getting their side of the story out, at times. The mainstream media has a tendency to ignore anything resembling the truth that we try to highlight. Are we always right (no pun intended) about every issue? Likely, we are not. However, the truth still remains the truth, even if it does make the liberals twist and turn in their efforts to avoid the facts. The truth is on our side and we need to make every effort possible to make sure it comes out to the American people.

Pelosi Loses it on House Floor, Chases Republican Tom Marino: Must See Video – UPDATED

Nancy Pelosi Chasing Tom Marino Across House Floor – DURING House Session

Hat/Tip to the Tea Party News Network & ABC News.

During an open session on the House Floor, Tom Marino (R-PA) evidently struck a nerve with former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, causing her to literally chase him across the chamber floor.

In debating the border crisis issue, Rep. Marino (R-PA), pointed out the obvious that Democrats had the presidency, and majorities in both the House and Senate, knew about the upcoming border crisis, and chose to do nothing about it.

“Amazing, that they say ‘because the president would not sign this bill, and because the Senate would not pass this bill’–they’re right, the Senate wouldn’t pass it,” Marino agreed. “There are hundreds of bills on Harry Reid’s desk that he will not bring to the floor for a vote. And certainly the president would not encourage that to be done,” he charged.

“But we are doing our job here in the House. We put a lot of time and effort in this. We looked at this law and we realized what hadb to be done. I come from a law-and-order background. And we don’t have law and order. We have distrust,” Rep. Marino contended.

What he said next is evidently what set her off:

“We have gangs coming across, we have drugs coming across the southern border and my colleagues on the other side don’t want to do anything about it. You know something I find quite interesting about the other side? Under the leadership of the former Speaker [of the House, Nancy Pelosi], and under the leadership of their former leader, when in 2009 and 2010, they had the House, the Senate, and the White House, and they knew this problem existed. They didn’t have the strength to go after it back then, but now are trying to make a political issue out of it now.”

As she advances on him, off camera, they continued their exchange:

Some unknown member, possibly Pelosi herself, must have spoken out-of-turn that what Marino said wasn’t true, to which he shot back, “Yes it is true. I did the research on it. You might want to try it.”

“Apparently I hit the right nerve,” Marino said following the exchange.

Like a crazed lunatic, Pelosi (1:58 mark) bolted from her chair to literally run through the aisles, trying to find the congressman following his floor comments. You can hear her in the background growling, “Where is he?” (2:15 mark)

The video doesn’t show what happened as Pelosi ran up the aisle on the GOP’s side of the chamber.

UPDATE:

Now, immediately Pelosi’s staff began spinning this to try and wipe the egg off of their boss’ face, citing that she was ‘reminding’ Congressman Marino of the DREAM Act.

Yeaaah, riiiigght.

According to Pelosi spokeswoman Evangeline George, “Leader Pelosi just wanted to remind the Congressman that House Democrats had the courage to pass the DREAM Act – and have the courage to stand up for what the American people want: bipartisan, comprehensive immigration reform.”

George added that “Pelosi accepted the Congressman’s apology.”

Wait, what? Marino apologized? For what? Telling the truth?

Well his staff responded to the ‘apology’ remark.

Marino’s chief of staff, Bill Tighe, stressed that Marino did not apologize to Pelosi, and will not apologize.

“[Rep. Marino] did not apologize to Leader Pelosi and does not intend to do so as he has nothing to apologize for.  She was entirely out of line in approaching him while he was recognized and delivering remarks on the Floor,” Tighe wrote in an email. “Her staff’s comment in your story about her accepting his apology in simply not true.”

Later, Marino continued to clarify the situation on his Twitter account.

Nancy Pelosi about the Border Chaos: Never Let a Good Crisis Go To Waste

Nancy-Pelosi-calls-border-crisis-an-opportunity-550x297

Hat/Tip to WeaselZippers.

Yes, this ‘compassionate’ Dem is focusing on how to use the chaos on our southern border, rather than on how to best solve the problem and stop the suffering.

What ever happened to, “It’s for the children,” Nancy?

Via NRO:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) wants Democrats to “use this crisis” on the border to pass comprehensive immigration legislation — just as immigration hawks fear they’ll do.

The most important thing that we can do to use this crisis as an opportunity is to pass comprehensive immigration reform,” Pelosi told reporters in Texas while discussing the border crisis. Of the House Republican Working Group’s proposal, she said she needed to see “what the amount is, hopefully with no offsets, hopefully with no language that changes immigration.”

There is a grave threat in the White House.  If he is not thrown out or otherwise constrained in the near future, national security will inevitably become a top priority for Americans, forced by tragedy, not just to give uppiña coladas and getting caught in the rain,” but to survive a Dark Age into which their president led them. (No Mr. President, You are the ‘Serious Threat to Everybody’s Future’)

“I think this is an administration that, we’re coming to find out, is one of almost unimaginable incompetence…” Brit Hume

“Obama is not worse than we thought. Liberals are worse than we thought.” Christopher Chantrill

It’s fortunate for both our enemies and the Democrats (terms no longer mutually exclusive) that the average American has the attention span of a geriatric squirrel.  Otherwise he or she might recall the fall of Saigon in ’75 and the killing fields of Cambodia — fiascoes likewise made possible by the Party of Cut and Run.

That the party of Harry Truman and John Kennedy has degenerated into a home for wayward socialists — Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton — is tragic; that the American people grant such odious scoundrels sanctuary in the nation’s capitol is bewildering; that they elevated a security risk like Barry Soetoro, AKA Barry Soebarkah, AKA Barack Obama to the highest office in the land is a downright travesty.

The current President of the United States is a man with a past murkier than a cup of Turkish coffee; a man who serves an ideology as red as an oozing tomato; a man who heads the most corrupt and lawless gang of miscreants to come out of Chicago since Prohibition.  And he’s either the most incompetent individual to ever rest his bony keister on the Presidential seal, or he’s the most treacherous.  And no one seems to care.

“It doesn’t matter a whit what’s going on with the popularity of the president. He may lose the Senate, but he is governing without the Congress. He has got his — he has got his own Constitution that he is operating under. He now regulates the entire healthcare system. And the story that was missed among all the scandals that are supposedly undoing his presidency is the climate change regulations. This is all by regulation. Nothing in legislation. He doesn’t need the Congress, which is going to revolutionize and put control of U.S. energy, which is the U.S. economy, in the Environmental Protection Agency. You want to run America? Don’t run for the presidency. Get yourself appointed head of the E.P.A. It makes Stalin’s five-year plans look like a picnic… “ (Is the Obama administration finished?)

The Gipper died ten years ago yesterday, and he left himself quite a legacy. All GOP presidential hopefuls since have measured themselves by his yardstick and all the Democratic hopefuls have twisted his legacy, some even comparing themselves to him!

Here are a few quick facts that the lefties cannot dispute, followed by a hilarious video that so aptly illustrates what those on the left just can’t fathom.

Reagan Results:

Number of American taxpayers who claimed more than $1 million in income in 1980: 4,400

Number of American taxpayers who claimed more than $1 million in income in 1987: 35,000

—–

Share of income tax burden borne by the top 10% of taxpayers in 1981: 48%

Share of income tax burden borne by the top 10% of taxpayers in 1988: 57.2%

—–

Total growth of Real GDP 1983-1990: 35.7%

Total growth of Real GDP 1991-1999: 33%

—–

Total federal revenues 1980: $517 billion

Total federal revenues 1990: More than $1 trillion

(in constant inflation-adjusted dollars, this was a 28% increase)

—–

Revenues from individual income taxes 1980: $244 billion

Revenues from individual income taxes 1990: $467 billion

(in inflation-adjusted dollars, this amounts to a 25% increase)

—–

The Reagan-created economic boom lasted 92 months without a recession, from November 1982 to July 1990, the longest period of sustained growth during peacetime and the second-longest period of sustained growth in U.S. history.

The growth in the economy lasted more than twice as long as the average period of expansions since World War II

—–

The American economy grew by about one-third in real inflation-adjusted terms.

This was the equivalent of adding the entire economy of East and West Germany or two-thirds of Japan’s economy to the U.S. economy.

—–

From 1950 to 1973, real economic growth in the U.S. economy averaged 3.6 percent per year.

From 1973 to 1982, it averaged only 1.6 percent.

The Reagan economic boom restored the more usual growth rate as the economy averaged 3.5 percent in real growth from the beginning of 1983 to the end of 1990.

—–

Proportion of total income taxes paid by the top 1% 1981: 18%

Proportion of total income taxes paid by the top 1% 1988: 28%

—–

Doesn’t matter how the left tries to revise the record, history shows Reagan’s fiscal responsibility is by far the most successful economic policy of the entire 20th century.

What he did to the tax structure in this country brought about a boom equaled by no other US President.

He won the Cold War without firing a shot and put the Soviets where they belong – on the trash heap of failed governing systems.

Think what Reagan could have accomplished had he a Republican Congress that would work with him, rather than a Democratic Congress that worked against him.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz: Obama, Biden, Pelosi Badgering Supporters With Endless Fundraising Emails Because of The Koch Brothers…

The number of breathless emails sent by Dems is mind-boggling, I’ve received at least 15 over the last two days.

Via DCCC email:

President Obama sent you an email.

Vice President Biden sent you an email.

Nancy Pelosi sent you an email.

Now I’m sending you an email.

We’re emailing you because this is really important:

The Kochs have unleashed a plan to spend $125 million against Democrats in this election. If we’re going to stand up to that onslaught, it’s going to take an outpouring of support. We’re down to our last 24 hours before our fundraising deadline and still coming up 12,835 donations short. Drew, can we count on you?

Thanks,

Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Who Brought Down the Deficit? (Hint: Their initials are TP)

Share

In his first year in office, President Obama gave us the insanely huge, unprecedented deficit of $1.3 TRILLION. Oh he tried to blame it on his predecessor, George W. Bush (a mantra he’s since perfected), but the stark truth is that he and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and then Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi all conspired to throw mountains of debt onto the backs of taxpaying American citizens.

A budget deficit of nearly half a trillion dollars is hardly something to cheer about, but the big decline in federal red ink as a share of our national output has been a

stunning achievement. The new April budget update from the Congressional Budget Office tells us that, in 2009, Barack Obama and the Democrats rang up an elephantine

$1.3 trillion deficit, which amounted to 9.8 percent of GDP.

However, we are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. This year, the deficit will be two thirds less than Obama’s first year spending.

This year, the deficit is expected to fall to 2.8 percent of GDP. This seven-percentage-point, two-thirds decline in borrowing is gigantic progress in four years. It’s the most sizable cut in deficit spending since the demobilization of the military after we won World War II.

Now before the Liberals start glad-handing themselves and begin to tout Obama as some sort of fiscal hawk, let’s take a look at just WHO is responsible for this cut in spending. And even though he is no darling of the Tea Party movement or Conservatives anywhere, for that matter, John Boehner gets quite a bit of credit on this one.

So how did it happen? The overlooked story here has been the triumph of the Republican-controlled House of Representatives elected by Tea Party activists and other fiscally conservative voters who were fed up with >the reckless path set by Mr. Obama in cahoots with Senate majority leader Harry Reid and House speaker Nancy Pelosi. Their Keynesian playbook told them that the more money the government spent and borrowed — even when it subsidized failed projects like Solyndra or turned one in seven families into food-stamp recipients – the faster the economy would heal. The theory didn’t turn out so well, as evidenced by the flimsy pace of recovery over the last four and a half years.

In 2011, we saw a U-turn change in fiscal direction. New House speaker John Boehner went to the mat on the debt ceiling and insisted on big cuts in spending and hard caps for the rest of the decade. Barack Obama wanted higher taxes, and the GOP wisely refused to capitulate. It was John Boehner’s finest hour.

Despite establishment Republicans raising the sequester spending caps in 2011, this is largely an unsung victory for the GOP in the House, yet it is a huge feather in their cap and something every House Republican ought to run on.

In the end, as the debt-ceiling deadline drew closer and closer and bond traders shouted “default,” Democrats caved and agreed to tight spending caps in domestic and defense programs, and automatic “sequester” cuts if those ceilings were violated. The deficit started to tumble almost immediately, and the progress continues to this day. Yes, big spenders in the GOP forced House Republicans to foolishly agree to raise the spending caps last year by about $1 trillion over ten years, but even these elevated caps are better than the previous regime of an unlimited credit card.

The budget deal of 2011, which was all spending controls and no tax increases, will go down in history as one of the great achievements of modern times. Mr. Boehner and Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky negotiated the fiscal surrender of Barack Obama — the most liberal president since FDR. Liberals now whine about just how badly they got rolled.

Many conservatives don’t appreciate how much spending has actually fallen. It hit nearly 25 percent of GDP in the first year of the Obama stimulus but is now close to 21 percent. More than half of that cut came out of defense, but the programs that liberals care about — green-energy subsidies, foreign aid, job training, and transit grants — have also been whacked.

Now going forward, we must address the entitlement programs, Obamacare being the biggest boondoggle in US history, and hold strong on these hard fought spending cuts.

Entitlements haven’t been touched, of course, and Obamacare is the biggest expansion of the entitlement state since the 1960s. But the best way to force Democrats to modernize these programs is by draining funding for everything else.

The key now, as Mr. Boehner tells me, “is to hold the line on those spending caps and don’t let Barack Obama slip out of them. It’s our best leverage right now.” Obama wants a $100-billion-plus infrastructure bank, but, sorry, Mr. President, the spending caps you agreed to make that a non-starter.

To answer the question in the title of this piece, we look to its author, Stephen Moore.

So who brought the budget deficit down? The much-maligned tea-party movement and the people they put in control of Congress back in 2010 to right the ship. The April budget update from the CBO is a reminder of how the tea partiers helped save the country in those dark early days of the Obama presidency. They deserve to take a bow.

Boehner & Establishment GOP Declare War on the Tea Party

Share

boehner“I have made it clear that I have great respect for the tea party and the energy they brought to the electoral process,” said Speaker of the House, John Boehner (R) Ohio to reporters in February of this year. Then, in a statement that more resembled his famed crying incidents, he went on to whine, “My gripe is with some Washington organizations who feel like they’ve got to go raise money by beating on me and others.”

That’s what politics is all about, I thought. But it seems the establishment GOP takes offense to being reminded that their constituencies would like them to stand up for Conservative values.

Well, evidently the message that the Tea Party brings to the table is lost on Boehner. Living in the bubble that is Washington DC, most Republican politicians lose sight of what got them elected and only every so often, during election time do they even begin to “remember” to be conservative and Boehner is no exception to this phenomenon.

Now it would seem that Boehner has taken his rhetoric a step further and decided to openly declare war on the Tea Party. Red State has reported that Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor along with 26 other House members will be attending a $5,000-a-head event hosted by The Republican Main Street Partnership’s advocacy group. This fund-raiser is putting the money raised into the anti-Tea Party super PAC Defending Main Street. This PAC has received most of its funding from labor unions.

This anti-Tea Party event is going to be hosted at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island in Nassau County, Florida.

Both the Republican Main Street Partnership and its advocacy group, Main Street latouretteAdvocacy are headed by former Rep. Steve LaTourette. He’s committed to raising money to defend centrist congressional Republicans (RINOs) from challenges by those evil Tea Party folks.

“They have decided to systemically go against center-right Republicans in primary elections,” LaTourette previously told The Daily Caller about his Tea Party rivals. LaTourette said that tea partiers are happy to call him a “RINO” but that that they go “apoplectic” when the “RINO gets a gun” and “fires back.”

“Here’s the deal: we didn’t start this fight,” LaTourette said, “but I’m going to finish it.”

But who is Steve LaTourette?

He is the same Steve LaTourette who came to national office in the wave of pre-Tea Party Conservatism of 1994 which saw 73 Republicans sweep in, ending the Democratic House rule of four decades. And despite his conservative roots, he displays his scorn of the 2010 Tea Party members elected to office by referring to them as “knuckledraggers that came in in the last election that hate taxes.” So it’s no surprise that he also voted against defunding NPR and against a motion to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in criminal contempt of Congress.

This is also the same Steve LaTourette who left his wife of 21 years to marry his former chief-of-staff, Jennifer Laptook. She has since gone on to be vice president of Van Scoyoc Associates, where her work consists of lobbying the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. LaTourette just happens to sit on this committee, but both vehemently deny any conflict of interest in this area. LaTourette also is chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management.

pelosiBut the GOP isn’t the only political entity that hates the Tea Party, former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D) CA and present House Minority Leader also took questions this past February on the Tea Party.  The California Democrat said the tea party had “hijacked” the Republican Party, and that tea partiers “considered it a success when they shut down government.”

Pelosi said her message to Republicans was this: “Take back your party, this isn’t who you are.”

While we on the right appreciate Pelosi’s advice, we take it with a grain of salt, especially coming from a woman who has helped the Far Left effectively take over the Democratic Party.

But what the establishment GOP and the Democrats in DC fail to understand is the power of the Tea Party and its huge grassroots following. So, in the words of Mark Twain, “The reports of my (our) death have been greatly exaggerated.”

Married Without Children

San Francy“I would say, you know, if you’re getting married — why are you getting married? Why would you get married? Why would anybody get married?” Nancy Pelosi

Why, indeed?  Of course, San Francy’s all for the institution as long as it’s between a pair of homosexuals, people that have no need for it — in America, they’re already free to shack up at will.  If marriage is fundamentally a societal framework designed primarily for the propagation and protection of the offspring it produces, then support for same-sex nuptials is revealed for what it is: a radical attack on accepted custom designed to weaken traditional families and the culture that nurturesMarried Without Children them.  But neither the Barbary Coast Buffoon nor most of her fellow Democrats have ever been noted for clear thinking and scrupulous logic.  Freedom and license are not the same thing, no matter how passionately the Jackasses wish them Gay Bladeto be.

Barack Obama describes homosexuality as a “fundamental American freedom.” Since when?  The Bill of Rights was not penned in order to free sodomites from the approbation of society or to enshrine their practices alongside freedom of speech, religion, or the right to bear arms.  As consenting adults, they are enabled by law to frolic as they choose these days.  That should be enough for anyone.Phil
