One thing that can be counted upon is that OWS participants will be caught in bomb plots.  Then, the second thing that can be guaranteed is that OWS will deny it, and the MSM will help cover it up.  Also, you can guarantee that the MSM will blame Conservatives for any adverse event that occurs, even in the absence of all evidence.  The Blaze has information on the arrest…

Aaron Greene, 31, and his nine-months pregnant girlfriend, Morgan Gliedman, 27, were apparently found to have these elements in addition to bomb-making instructions, a stack of papers with a cover sheet entitled, “The Terrorist Encyclopedia,” and other weapons according to sources speaking with The New York Post.

Some of Greene’s associates have purportedly called his views “extreme.” Police made the discoveries and subsequent arrests when they went to the couple’s home over the weekend to look for Gliedman who is wanted for purported credit-card theft. The Post has more about the bizarre alleged findings:

A detective discovered a plastic container with seven grams of a white chemical powder called HMTD, which is so powerful, cops evacuated several nearby buildings.

Police also found a flare launcher, which is a commercial replica of a grenade launcher; a modified 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun; ammo; and nine high-capacity rifle magazines, the sources said.

Cops also allegedly uncovered papers about creating homemade booby traps, improvised submachine guns, and various handwritten notebooks containing chemical formulas.

Then, Newsbusters has information regarding the media coverage…

ABC News, the same network which falsely linked the Tea Party to a mass killing in Colorado, on Wednesday ignored an alleged connection between Occupy Wall Street and a wealthy New York City couple apparently planning a terrorist spree. Instead, a Good Morning America journalist referred to the investigation as a “preppy terror case.”

The New York Post on Monday reported that Morgan Gliedman and her boyfriend, Aaron Greene, have been arrested after a vast number of guns, bombs and the “Terrorist Encyclopedia” were found in their home. According to the Post, the two are “the privileged daughter of a prominent city doctor, and…a Harvard grad and Occupy Wall Street activist.” Yet, GMA reporter John Muller simply described, “She is from a prominent family on New York’s ritzy upper east side. He is a Harvard graduate.

Later in the segment, Muller insisted, “So far, potential targets or a motive have not been determined. And police say the couple have no known links to any terrorist organizations.”

Yet, over on CBS this Morning, reporter Seth Doane actually mentioned the connection: “The New York Post reported Greene was a member of the Occupy Wall Street movement but the group has denied this.”

Doane then featured a clip of intelligence expert Michell Silber talking about Occupiers:

MITCHELL SILBER (K2 Intelligence Executive Managing Director): The assumption is that the vast majority of the people there were peaceful protesters but there was a more radical fringe element to the group and there was a concern at some point they might turn to violence if they weren’t accomplished their political aims.

OK then, CBS commits a random act of journalism, and reveals that there is some apparent connection with OWS, but there will be no further investigation of that, will there be?

This is an old video, but it does show how the people at OWS display their sense of entitlement and dependency.

You see all the hallmarks…

1.  He is uninformed

2.  When presented with factual information, he ignores it.  To quote our friend Bezmenov, “Facts say nothing to him.”

3.  He honestly thinks that society owes him what he wants.

Why go over this?  Well, several million people that think like this put Obama back in the oval office.  We underestimated their numbers.  They are ignorant, entitled, and they vote.  And, we’re stuck with them.

OWS Defends North Korea?

Share

What happens when the most repressive regime on Earth is featured in an American film?  OWS comes forward to defend it! That’s right, when Red Dawn was re-made, the Soviet Union was “unavailable” to be the adversary, so the producers turned to North Korea. And, when the communists at OWS heard of it, they decided to protest it.

I loved the first guy for suggesting that they have been trying to unify their people-read subjugate them!

Just to repeat the comparison…

Of course, the OWS folks think that it’s terribly unfair that the people in South Korea have lights, food, and a functional economy.  So, to remedy the unfairness, they would want the north to take over, so no one would have lights, food, or a functional economy.

And that, my friends, is called social justice.

Brett Kimberlin Update: The Story Unfolds, and Taking Back the Velvet Revolution

Share

Once again, I am confronted with a story that is so big, that is it is next to impossible to cover it, given my schedule and available time.  Stacey McCain explains why it’s next to impossible to cover it at all…

Frankly, I am sympathetic to any reporter who might want to write about the Kimberlin story, but dreads the challenge of trying to explain it in a brief, concise news story that makes sense. I’ve written twoAmerican Spectator articles about it:

Both of those articles were quite an ordeal to write because the story is so complex, and it’s easy to get “lost in the weeds.” In terms of understanding the basics of Brett Kimberlin’s criminal history, the best resource is arguably Mandy Nagy’s 3,600-word article from October 2010. which cites several other articles, including the thorough 1981 account by Indianapolis Star reporter Joe Gelarden and an excellent2007 article by Massimo Calabresi of Time magazine.

Very few reporters, however, have even tried to tell the story in any detailsed way, and the temptation to dismiss it as “just an Internet thing” — involving no political big names — is nearly as strong as the temptation to portray it as a mere squabble between Left and Right, which it most assuredly is not.

So, if you want to catch up, here are some recent posts…

A High Time on the Low Road: Smears Target Brett Kimberlin’s Enemies List UPDATE: SWATting Supect ID’d?

So get over there, and take a look at what Stacey has compiled.  It’s quite impressive.  And while you’re there, hit is tipjar, because undisclosed locations cost money, ya dig?

Also, Bob Belvedere at TCOTS has a fine post of his own, so check it out as well.

As for one of Kimberlin’s organizations, the Velvet Revolution, on site is taking offence with that term…

On November 19, 1989, the people of Prague, in the former state of Czechoslovakia, gathered to commemorate a massacre of Czech students by Nazi Germany fifty years earlier. By the end of the day, the gathering turned into a demonstration against a ruling  Communist government that had begun massacring Czechs and Slovaks from virtually the moment the Nazis were booted out. By December 29, 1989, without a shot fired, the protesters had driven out their Communist masters, electing poet, playwright, and political prisoner Vaclav Havel as interim President. This peaceful revolt by a peaceful people against their Stalinist puppet government became known as the “Velvet Revolution”.

On November 30, 2004, convicted terrorist bomber, drug dealer, and perjurer Brett Kimberlin formed a Maryland corporation for the purpose of soliciting tax-exempt donations from the public and charitable foundations, to promote an alleged “network of more than 100 progressive organizations reaching millions of people demanding progressive change through our various campaigns”. Campaigns such as offering bounties for the head of the Chamber of Commerce, the impeachment of a Supreme Court Justice, and proof that John Kerry actually won the 2004 presidential election.

This corporation was also known as the Velvet Revolution, or “VelvetRevolution.US, Inc.” according to its corporate filings.

Kimberlin, convicted of a 1978 series of bombings in Speedway, Indiana, is a product of a different time: the day of “radical chic”, of the celebrity terrorist, when murderers like Ilich Ramirez-Sanchez (“Carlos the Jackal”) were featured on the cover of Paris Match! Where today our government might reward a serial bomber like Kimberlin with a drone strike or a vacation in lovely Florence Colorado, Kimberlin served a scant 20 years in relative comfort, during which time he was able to collaborate on a biography with Mark Singer of The New Yorker. Singer would go on to describe Kimberlin as a “top-flight con man” when he realized that Kimberlin had lied about selling marijuana to the hapless Dan Quayle.

I know that Stacey doesn’t frame this as a “left vs. right” issue.  However, some of the same dynamics are in place.  Obviously, “Team Kimberlin” are hard left folks, engaging in the same hard left tactics that have been used before.  So, here’s the irony.  The actual Velvet Revolution took place AGAINST a hard left regime.  It occurred against a Communist state that had been subjugating and starving its people since it’s inception.  It is the same type of regime called for by OWS, and other openly communist organizations.  However, Team Kimberlin has hijacked this to promote the very thing that the real Velvet Revolution fought against.

Just image putting the standard occupod in Tiananmen Square.  If you ask him publicly, he might say he’s the guy standing in front of the tank.  However, politically, economically, and philosophically, he’s actually the guy driving the tank!

In the long run, it’s going to take a long time to expose this, and people are going to be hurt in the process.  It’s all I have time to do now, but I will continue to cover this the best I can, and please visit the folks that are doing such a fine job staying on top of it.

BTW, please link the Orginal Velvet Revolution, as it has the truth about the fall of Communism.

Top 400 Wage Earners Paid More in Taxes Than the Bottom Half! Leftist Meme Shattered

Share

If you listen to the occupods, the mythical 99% are being completely fleeced by the equally mythical 1%.  Class warfare is a stubborn thing, but reality always wins in the end.  Bunkerville has the meme bustage…

Just thought this would be a factoid worthy to report. Reality can be difficult to deal with. Not mentioned is not only do the non-payers not pay, but get money back from the 400. I don’t think 400 come to  “The one percent” do you?

Bottom Line: A small group of 400 of America’s most successful earners in 2009, about the number of residents living in a typical apartment building in Washington, D.C., paid almost as much in federal income taxes as the entire bottom half of America’s 138 million tax filers, which is a population equivalent to the combined number of residents living in America’s 29 least populated states, plus the District of Columbia.

We hear all the time that the “rich don’t pay their fair share of taxes” (123,000 Google search results for that phrase).  Here’s an analysis using recent IRS data that suggests otherwise.

Get over to his place to see more, including a handy graph.

Um, how to we get these people to pay, “their fair share,” when they’re already paying more than 138,000,000 people already?  Or, is this just another liberal scam to vilify success and install communism?  I think you all know the answer to that.

Of course, under a Marxist regime, the 400 would be put to death, as well as a few million of the 138,000,000, but if you want to make an omelette, you have to break some eggs, right?

The Reports of the Zombie Apocalypse are Greatly Exaggerated

Share

In an effort to be extra helpful, or perhaps set at ease a nervous and terribly ignorant population, the CDC has announce that the Zombie Apocalypse has NOT begun.  The Daily Mail has more…

Following several disturbing incidents involving cannibalism that have set the internet aflutter with rumours of an impending ‘Zombie Apocalypse,’ the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a statement on Friday saying that there is no cause to fear the walking dead.

‘CDC does not know of a virus or condition that would reanimate the dead (or one that would present zombie-like symptoms), agency spokesman David Daigle told the Huffington Post.

Er, thanks for stating the obvious?

How much you want to bet that there is some obscure and strange group out there that actually thinks that there is some conspiracy to kill off a chunk of the population with zombies?  Then again, OWS is still around, so maybe we will be overrun with brainless zombies!

Chuck Schumer Channels Nazi Germany, Goes After Americans Attempting to Escape Taxes

Share

We’ve talked about taxes quite a bit here.  We covered that when Maryland passed a special tax on millionaires, one third of their millionaires disappeared, and the state ended up losing money.  When NY passed oppressive cigarette taxes, New Yorkers found ways to evade it, and the state missed their income projections by several country miles.  And, we covered that the early 90’s luxury tax cost tens of thousands of jobs, and then the government ended up paying more for unemployment benefits than they collected in revenue.  In short, tax increases kill jobs, and result in the creation of new and different means to evade them.

I’ve often joked that the liberals will eventually want to “build a wall” to keep people from escaping their “paradise.”  Apparently, Chuck Schumer (Douchenozzle, NY) has taken this a bit too seriously, and has proposed legislation to create a “tax wall,” of sorts.  God Father Politics has some more…

For centuries, millions of Europeans came to the United States to escape the oppression of tyrannical regimes. Others came for expanded economic opportunities. With the rise of Nazism in Germany, many Jews saw the handwriting on the wall and got out with their possessions before it became illegal to do so. Most didn’t. Gary North’s comments put a fine edge on the point:

The hypothetical Jewish family in question should have done a lot more than sew gold coins into their clothes in 1939. The head of the household should have sold his house and his business. He should have transferred all of the family’s assets to Switzerland, England, or the United States. Then he should have directed the family to pack their bags and follow their money. After August 31, 1939, this became illegal. World War II broke out.

Sen. Chuck Schumer and some of his fellow Democrats want a new law placed on the books. It’s called “Ex-PATRIOT”: “Expatriation Prevention by Abolishing Tax-Related Incentives for Offshore Tenancy.” The proposed law is in reaction to Eduardo Saverin’s decision to renounce his American citizenship which Democrats like Schumer believe is a “scheme” to “help him duck up to $67 million in taxes.”

So then, Mr. Saverin wants to escape taxes in the era of Obama’s class warfare.  Then, just as he’s about to get away, Schumer wants to consfiscate his wealth, just like the Nazis did with the Jews.

Isn’t it funny, in a tragic, history-is repeating-itself kind of way?  The administration, as well as OWS, creates the class warfare to vilify people that create wealth-just like the Nazi’s did with the Jews.  Then, Schumer proposes legislation to does just what the Nazi’s did to the Jews.  Once again, we see that the 30’s are being repeated before our eyes.

And, then again, OWS doesn’t like Jews either.

Linked at Doug Ross.  Thanks!

May Day 2012: The Beginning

Share

If you have been a regular reader here, you know that we have been covering leftist violence for several years, and May Day has always been a lowlight.  A communist celebration of intimidation, thuggery, and vandalism.  Here are some examples from 2010…

And, just like OWS, there is vandalism and destruction at most every protest, but it is always someone else’s fault.

The Blaze also has some more current examples…

We’ve all seen violence behavior from the left wing.  That is nothing new, and we’ll continue to see it.  What we have to understand is the why of it.  They know that the vast majority of Americans will not accept a Communist state.   They know that as long as millions of people can take care of themselves, they will not gain control of the nation.  They also know that they cannot win a rational debate.  So, they resort to violence and destruction to force their views on others.  Like an older version of a temper tantrum, they will escalate their efforts until the larger society is worn down to the point of surrender.  They are not about freedom, democracy, or justice.  They are about hate, control, domination, and death.  History teaches us this-with numerous examples.

So, we know that there is violence planned for tomorrow.  It has been openly discussed.  The only difference between this year and prior ones is that there is more focus, and more useful idiots to engage in the efforts.  Consequently, I will be monitoring my usual sources over the next two days to see what violence did come off.  Of course, it will be someone else’s fault.

Warnings About Communism From People That Lived Under it

Share

Perhaps I should say, “emphasis on the ‘under it.”  As we all know, Communism in actual application is perhaps the most tyrannical killing machine ever devised by man.  Unfortunately, as we saw with OWS, many of those would-be Marxists deny that the deaths, starvation, or shortages occurred at all.  Fortunately for us, there are millions of people that lived under communism that can speak out on what really happened.  Glenn Beck interviewed several recently…

I wish there was a bit more, but I think the point is conveyed. But, as our friend Bezmmenov has told us, the truth means nothing to OWS, or other useful idiots…

Everytime I see a leftist argue by attacking people personally, rather than present information (because they have none), I am reminded of Bezmenov’s point, “They are programmed to respond to certain stimuli…”

Sad, but true. However, the good news is that not everyone is brainwashed like the OWS and, say the pro-labor crowd. So, we still have a fighting chance.

Occupy Roundup: Wisconsin Dehumanization, Portland State Adds Revolutionary Marxism Course, Rare Moonbat Sighting

Share

Did everyone think that I would leave #occupy, AKA: the Occupods, alone?  Fear not my friends, the indoctrinated moonbats that woke up as confused useful idiots will have no reprieve.  There is still a ton of useful idiocy going on out there, and we need to continue displaying it.  So, here is the latest in moonbattery…

First up, the protesters in Wisconsin have decided that people that disagree with them aren’t even human…

Dehumanizing your opposition?  I think we know where that leads.

Then, we see that Portland State has seen an opportunity to recruit occupods for further indoctrination.

In the event that you think the video is a fake, here is a screen cap from the Portland State website.

Of course, as the occupods have told the media, they are not Marxists.  But, for not being Marxists, they do have a lot of rhetoric and training that is…well…Marxist!

And finally, we have a rare picture of a moonbat, via The Left Wing Institute for Civil Discourse…

Yes, that is a bat on his forehead.

As always, these people are exposing themselves.  All we have to do is show the world.  That, and it’s fun!

Some More Thoughts on the Nature of Ideological Warfare

Share

I’ve been thinking about the current political climate, as well as history, both recent and more remote.  What we are seeing today is nothing new, it’s all happened before-a few are trying to dominate the entire population, and far too many average citizens have no idea what is really happening.  So, I thought it might be a good idea to discuss what is going on now.

I look at OWS, the unions, as well as the multitudes of small organizations that are meant to Cloward-Piven the Republic.  I consider that OWS participants number in the thousands, or perhaps the low five-figure area.  In other words, all the occupiers combined represent the attendance at ONE of the larger Tea Party protests from 2009-2010.  When compared to the Tea Party, the so called 99% isn’t even a drop in the proverbial bucket.

Then, I remember that unions only represent 11.8% of workers in the US.  I also have to realize that among union workers, the vast majority never voted in a union election (for which they would have had to show photo id, by the way), and are only in a union because they had no choice.  Also, when workers are allowed to leave the union, or are not forced to pay dues, many abandon the union.  Consequently, the number of union members is not indicative of how many people support unions.  As in the old Soviet Bloc, many would escape if they could, so the bosses keep them in against their will.

Also, they have community organizations, like the “organizations formerly known as ACORN.”  These are the “grassroots” organizations that send people to protest in rented buses, with their identical, professionally printed signs, as well as their identical shirts, hats, or jackets.  Or if the participants are lucky, they get paid to protest, even if they have no idea who or what they are protesting.  Because, as well all know, real grassroots organizations have identically pre-printed signs, “uniforms,” pay people to protest, and use rented buses.  You know, spontaneity, right?

What am I getting at, you ask?  From what the evidence dictates, OWS, the unions, and all of the community organizations represent a tiny percentage of the overall population, yet they reserve for themselves the right to dictate all aspects of life to the rest of us.  They have had a great deal of success.  This success comes from several factors:

  1. They are organized.  They coordinate with other groups and individuals.  Not always all that well, but some organization goes a long way against small groups or individuals.
  1. Tactics:  Most leftist groups use pressure tactics against organizations or individuals.  These are tactics historically used by Communists, labor unions, or community organizers (or do I repeat myself?). Saul Alinsky compiled them in his book, Rules for Radicals, and they target individuals (in particular) for intimidation, harassment, and disruption in an effort to discredit them, and then to cause their capitulation.
  1. Additionally, their tactics do not have to have anything to do with reality.  They seek to create a false perception, rather than deal with reality.  The tactics are unethical and dishonest, but they don’t let that get in the way.  For them, the ends justify the means.
  1. They are persistent:  Leftist groups don’t let laws, elections, or even the Constitution get in their way.  They come back for more.  They raid union coffers.  They pay more protestors.  They bus in more goons.  They engage in vandalism, extortion, or even violence in an effort to reach their objective.  The will of the people means nothing to them.  When defeated, they come back again, relabeled and slightly reconfigured, but underneath it all, it’s still the same.
  1. They are amoral:  While that may sound like I’m pushing the envelope, there is some truth to this.  First, consider that the first edition of Rules for Radicals was dedicated to Lucifer.  Then, consider that they will lie, intimidate, coerce, strong-arm, extort, vandalize, and commit assault to meet their objectives.  While being reprehensible, having a lack of morals leaves a lot of options open to them.  Those options are rarely considered by their targets, who often do have a moral center.

With all of the above, they are able to make “noise” that is far out of proportion to their actual numbers.  They attempt to create the perception that they represent a large segment of the population, when, in reality, they represent their own narrow interests.   When they bus 500 goons to a banker’s house in order to intimidate a banker’s teenaged child, they try to make themselves look much larger than they really are.  However, the fact is that the goons were likely paid to go, or otherwise offered incentives.  It was structured, pre-planned, and completely fake.  And, it only represents the needs and wants of the union bosses, not the public at large.  In other words, they try to make David look like Goliath-by acting like Al Capone.

As for the future, I really see these groups continuing following the Alinsky playbook.  Perhaps the frequency and level of violence will increase, but this is what they know, and they won’t depart from it easily.  They are creatures of habit, and like all humans, will almost always return to what they know.  That is their glaring weakness, and it is what will lead to their defeat-if we exploit it to own advantage.  Here are some more thoughts on their weaknesses.

  1. Their adherence to a small set of tactics limits them.  They have a hard time dealing with people that stand up to them.  Like the schoolhouse bully, they don’t know how to take it when their presumptive victims refuse to submit.  So, if people stand up to them, they’ll be rather perplexed as to how to deal with it.
  1. Since they are a very small part of the population, they haven’t sufficient numbers to attack a large number of targets simultaneously.  If a significant number of their victims come forward, they won’t have the resources to hit all of them. As I noted earlier, they are successful because they can isolate small numbers, or individual targets at any given time.  Then, the targets usually break, one by one, or are destroyed.
  1. Additionally, if their targets support each other, and work to counter the goons, they will have no clue as to how to respond.  Most of their tactics are predicated on isolating individual targets.  They can’t freeze or isolate a moving target, nor can they freeze or isolate people that stick together.  Essentially, they don’t have a ”Plan B.”
  1. With the advent of social media, they aren’t able to hide their activities.  In the past, they could harass individuals, destroy property, or even assault people, and the MSM wouldn’t cover it.  And, in most cases, there would be no arrests.  So, they are used to being able to project a kind face to the public, while acting like a criminal mob behind the scenes, or in the street-hidden behind the shield of a compliant media.  Therefore, there are still in that mode of thinking that they can act with impunity.  That will be a significant weakness for them.
  1. Social Media coverage also helps the targets of leftist groups.  In the past, the isolation and intense thug tactics would be psychologically devastating to the victims, as they would feel very alone, and isolated.  When one feels as if they have no friends or supporters, they are more likely to cave in to the demands of the goons.  On the contrary, when people feel like they are supported, or others are going through the same thing, they gain strength to fight on.  Now, thanks to social media, when someone is targeted, they can gain worldwide support.  And, people all over the world will see the goon tactics in action.   In general, people do not like thugs, so it will reflect poorly in public opinion.
  1. Pursuant to item 1, when dealing with tantruming children and bullies, when thwarted, will usually try to escalate their behavior or rhetoric.  What that means is that when they are challenged, they may double down on their behavior, and do even more of what does not work.  Again, that can be recorded and posted, and be used to expose them to an even greater degree.
  1. The denial of reality hurts the goons.  As I noted earlier, goons depend upon creating a false narrative and perception to change opinion.  The problem is that false narratives are easily crushed by reality.  And, in the age of social media, the truth can be easily distributed.  The more that the thugs put out false information that is easily disproved, the less credibility that they have.

When you think of it, it is already working.  In decades past, would the public have known about what is “in” ObamaCare?  Would Sandra Fluke’s story have “gone over?”  Would the majority if the people believed that the Tea Party was just an new incarnation of the KKK without the hoods?  I believe the answer to all of those is yes.  So, we are having an impact, and we keep pouring it on, because information is the weapon of choice in this war.

Over a year ago, I posted an article about the nature of ideological warfare.  In that post, I noted that there isn’t going to be an end point to this war for freedom that we are waging. There is never going to be a surrender ceremony, no VE day, or no VJ day.  We need to recognize that, and even when we win a battle, the war goes on-it always will.  Needless to say, we need to keep winning over people with the truth. It is working, and the more we do it, the more it will work.

DHS Not Investigating #Occupy, but IRS Clobbers Tea Party?

Share

If you recall, the advent of the Tea Party caused quite an uproar in statist circles.  MIAC, and then DHS, declared us all “DANGEROUS TERRORISTS.  Conservative bloggers, myself included, noted that we were being frequently visited by DHS.  Even though there were no terror plots, and that the protests were peaceful, the Tea Parties were accused of “racism,” and terrorism.  Even when they left the protest sites cleaner than they found them, they were presented as the most dangerous movement in all of human history.

Then, last October, Occupy Wall Street started.  With open statements of anti-Semitism, calls for violent revolution, millions of dollars in damages and vandalism, assaults, rapes, child molestation, child prostitution, manufacture of IED’s, assaults on police officers, flying the flags of terrorist groups, drug use, drug sales, stockpiling of human waste for use as a weapon, Occupy was the Anti-Tea Party.  However, as our VRWC mate, Wyblog, points out,  there is a  sharp contrast in how our government is dealing with both movements…

DHS, IRS told to avoid monitoring #Occupy, but focus intently on Tea Party

The Department of Homeland Security “struggled” to avoid monitoring any #Occupy groups, for fear they might tread on someone’s civil rights.

Internal Documents Show the Department of Homeland Security Tried Pretty Hard Not to Monitor Occupy Wall Street

The Department of Homeland Security struggled to avoid monitoring or suppressing the Occupy Wall Street movement last year, despite being bombarded with requests from various federal agencies for intelligence on the protests, according to documents released via the Freedom of Information Act.

The documents show that officials in DHS’s offices of Intelligence Analysis and Civil Rights and Civil Liberties were keenly aware of the legal and constitutional issues raised by federal agencies monitoring political protesters, and sought to tamp down the appetite for intelligence on the Occupy protesters from their colleagues in DHS and other federal agencies that rely on DHS bulletins and intelligence.

Well, isn’t that a contrast?  A group that calls for the extermination of the Jews, destroys property, pushes cops in front of buses, and a host of other offenses, get’s treated as an old friend by our would-be regressive masters, yet the peaceful Tea Party movement,on top of being accused of racism and terrorism, get’s a heaping helping of harassment by the IRS!

Because people who read the Constitution are a threat to the people who trample on the Constitution.

And if the DHS scrutiny wasn’t enough, the IRS is making sure us Tea Partyers get the message.

The American Center for Law and Justice has reported that the IRS is targeting the nonprofit tax status of Tea Party and liberty groups across the nation.

The IRS questionnaires are quite detailed containing pages of multi-step questions. The organizations have been given two weeks to complete the query. This short deadline would be tough for any organization, let alone all-volunteer groups.

Most of the questions are pointed and obnoxious, but fairly standard by IRS standards: Explain fundraising, explain outreach, explain volunteers, explain your relationship with another group.

Some of the questions are baffling and don’t identify anything of redeeming social value, meaning they seem geared to utilize organizational resources instead of supporting or refuting a tax status.

Examples of these include requests to provide a hard copy printout of web pages, list all issues of importance to the group, and outline any training completed by or presented to the organization in question.

Even better, the IRS is asking for information on the families of Tea Party members. Why? Is this North Korea where our children pose a threat to the regime?

Yes, it’s a transparently fraudulent world in which we live.

Occupy Maine Protester Sentenced for Hatchet Attack UPDATED: Perp was “Security” at Camp, had History of Domestic Violence

Apparently, it doesn’t pay to be a drummer at occupy Maine.

PORTLAND, Maine –

A man who participated in the Occupy Maine protest in Portland has been sentenced to a year in prison for hitting another protester in the head with a hatchet.

Christopher Schisler was sentenced to 8 1/2 years in prison, with all but one year suspended, after pleading guilty Wednesday to aggravated assault. A criminal mischief charge was dismissed.

Authorities say the dispute in Lincoln Park started when Alan Porter began banging a drum around 7 a.m. on Nov. 18 to wake up fellow campers. The 35-year-old Schisler broke the drum with a hatchet, Porter threw the drum at Schisler, who hit Porter with the blunt side of the hatchet.

Schisler’s attorney says his client is remorseful.

We covered this when it happened back in November, and I want to point out one tidbit from that original post...

Police charged Chris Schisler who said recently he has been staying at the camp for several weeks, with assaulting another member of the camp at about 7 a.m. (emphasis added)

Why that section?  It’s simple, #occupy always says that any crime committed at a camp, or committed in their name, is from someone that does no belong to OWS.  It’s always someone else, whether it be anarchists, DHS agents, or even people paid by Breitbart!  But, like so many other criminals, this man stayed at the camp for weeks, by his own admission.

But don’t  worry, the totally and completely peaceful occupods will disavow any knowledge of the perp, just as they always do.

UPDATE:  , over at the Daley Gator, has some additional information…

Schisler, 35, was on probation for domestic violence assault at the time of the incident. His probation on that charge was revoked, leading to a sentence of 118 days.

Porter told the court today that he shared blame in the incident. He related how he and Schisler both handled security for the encampment.

What more can be said.  Seems to me that Occupy Maine had a “tough” working security.
