Some Thoughts on Human History, and Progressives

Many of you might have noticed that I often put quotations around the word, “progressive.”  Over the last couple of years, I’ve probably wasted a thousand keystrokes doing that, so I might as well explain why.

For the vast majority of human history, mankind has lived in a state of tyranny.  This probably started not long after cave man Ugh realized that his neighbor, Argh was weaker than him, and carried a smaller club.  After Argh’s untimely demise (with the exception of some tribal societies), the course of mankind was set.

As mankind developed from hunter gatherers to simple agrarian societies, to city states, and then empires, a variety of chieftains, kings, dictators, warlords, priests, priestesses, and self declared “gods,” have ruled mankind.  During those  countless ages, the average person lived, or died, at the whim of his or her self-appointed leader.  Economies were controlled, taxes were high, incomes were close to nil, and the average person often died as penniless as they were at birth.  Economies centered on the wealth of the leaders, not on the people, so  pestilence and starvation killed many when it did not need to happen.  There was little to no income distribution.  There was the top class; the leaders and their enforcers, and there were the peasants.  There was not even a hint of equality or justice, just oppressive rule.  (I know that Rome was, for a time, a republic, and some Greeks practiced democracy, but even then, they were a drop in the bucket when compared to the total history of man)

These tyrannical leaders did not tolerate dissent, or even the chance of dissent.  people were tortured, maimed, and executed to insure the power of the ruler(s).  People were killed for treason, heresy, or for simply knowing someone who might have done something.  There was no, “taking to the streets.”  Such events would have been met with lethal force.  Not only that, the entire town in which such a thing occurred might be razed in retaliation.

The leaders during those dark times were said to be wiser, stronger, more suited to rule, and it had been ordained by God that they should have power.  And all the while, excesses and corruption were the order of the day.

However, as the centuries passed, progress-REAL progress, was made.  The Magna Carta established that people have some rights, though it is not as codified as are the rights in our Constitution.   Also, John Locke, among others, formulated the ideas of natural rights and the social contract.

Our Founding Fathers were the next in line for real progress.  They created, in the Unites States Constitution, the greatest charter for human freedom ever devised. They embraced the idea of Natural Rights, in the human freedoms are from God, and that government exists to protect those rights-and cannot take them away.  Humans were protected in their right to free speech, their freedom of religion, their right to defend themselves, their right to property and all the others that we tend to take for granted today.  In our Republic, man rules himself, and government exists only to do those functions that man cannot do for himself, such as national defense, enforcing contracts, establishing courts, coining money, and so forth.  Or at least, that’s is how it’s supposed to be.

However, the forces of tyranny did not rest or concede when true human freedom started to emerge.  The next stages of tyranny were  Communism, followed by the original “progressive movement,” and then Fascism.  All of these are related in terms of the fact that they center power in an elite, that then control all aspects of human behavior.  Their only differences are in process and scope.

The results were horrific.  Over a hundred million people were killed in the name of Communism.  Fascism might have  equaled  that, had they not been stopped by WW II.  The “progressives,” operating in Western Democracies, had to move slowly.  Incrementalism has been their primary operating procedure.  However, they inspired the Nazi’s with their love for eugenics, and were “fellow travelers” with the other two movements.

Over the decades, “progressives,” operating under a variety of labels , have moved through our institutions.  They have used a variety of justifications to give the Federal government more power.  They have taken control of education.  They are in control of the MSM.  They have crafted  regulations  that destroy business and industry.  They created social programs that have encouraged dependency, and then have created economic crisis to fill those programs to unprecedented levels.  They have legalized sexual assault in the name of “security.”  They have also used the created and false crisis of global cooling, global warming, climate change in order to justify the reduction of our lifestyles.  All of this, of course, will be monitored and controlled by the authorities.

Their desire for control extends to all aspects of human life.  Government wants to tell us what kind of food can we eat- even if we can grow our own.  We are told how much water our toilets can use.  The kinds of car we can own-and eventually, even if we can own one is to be determined by unelected  bureaucrats.    What kind of house we can build, the healthcare we can recieve, and a host of others, are all in the crosshairs of the “progressives.”  They even seek to control mass media and the internet to control the free flow of information.  In the end, are we free if the government dictates so many of our basic human functions?

We also see how the “progressives” treat those that disagree with them. Conservative and Libertarian students are threatened and punished on   campuses, where free speech is curtailed, and labeled as “hate.”  Union members and other “progressives” engage in violence and intimidation to silence those that dissent.  The Constitution itself has been declared “outdated,” or “irrelevant.”  The Founders themselves are attacked and discounted.  After all, if we are to be controlled by an all powerful government, the very ideas of freedom have to be attacked, silenced and discredited.

As you can see, “progressives” are not progressive. They are REgressive.  They seek to return us to a state in which we are controlled and dominated by a small elite.  And just as the monarchs of old, they seek the “divine right of kings,” in order to gain and maintain control over us.  Of course, they tell us that it’s for our own good, but they proceed from the faulty premise that they know better than us, and that we cannot self govern.

We were born into a state of freedom.  In terms of human history, this is a rare and precious gift.  Only the tiniest fraction of all humans that have ever lived have enjoyed these freedoms.  If we allow the Regressives to take them away, it might be centuries before they re-emerge, and hundreds of millions will die in the process.

Are we going those freedoms, and the future of mankind, over to a small elite that “knows what’s best?”

This past August 22, Meredith Cole and her boyfriend were assaulted in downtown Springfield.  It was caught on video…

Of course, any good regressive will tell you that this never happened, and that I’m a racist for posting it.  Because, presenting information that goes against the regressive narrative is terribly racist.

Common Core Math Problem Blasted by Parent

Common Core seems to be uncommonly stupid.  As social media allows the distribution of the nonsense, more and more Americans are finding out that the only thing common about the core is that it’s intrusive, nonsensical, and full of propaganda.  For the latest, here is a parent’s response to an overly complicated math problem…

Of course, practical reality has nothing to do with education.  In fact, I believe that is intentional.  Reality doesn’t cooperate with the regressive agenda.  Common Core should be called Common Corpse-at least Obama would get it.

Here is ‘Public Enemy Number One’ for Bill de Blasio

This is who Bill de Blasio hates…

Dark skinned children that can read…
Bill de Balsio hates it when they can read, write, and escape the regressive plantation, so he’ll close down their school.
You know, equality! Equally illiterate, equally unemployable, equally poor, and utterly dependent on democrat policies and programs!
Don’t worry democrats, Bill de Blasio will make sure they stay right where you want them!  Those that don’t get aborted will never pose a threat!

Great Moments in Civil Discourse: Liberals Show ‘Tolerance’ for #TrestinsFast

#TrestinsFast is an effort to raise awareness regarding the overstepping of a Federal Judge.  When Trestin Meacham contacted me about this, I told him that once word got out, it would generate a hateful reaction from the forces of “tolerance and diversity.”  Because, as we all know, any opposition to the regressive doctrine is classified as “hate.”  And, it’s OK to harass, insult, ridicule, and censor anyone who is a “hater,” right?  Here are some examples…

Statement: Hey, ObamaCare is causing people to lose their plans, have their work hours cut, causing job losses, and people are suffering.

Response from “tolerant” regressive:  HATER!  OPPOSING OBAMACARE IS RAAAAACIST!!!!!

Statement:  Wow, it’s colder, and all of the global cooling global warming climate change the Big Lie predictions are failing to come true.   Oh, and that global warming ship got stuck in the ice that wasn’t there in 1912, and the icebreaker sent to rescue them is stuck too!

Statement:  I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and while I would never harm gays, the Muslims all over the world persecute and kill them.

Response from “tolerant” regressive: HATER!!!!!   (Muslims, what Muslims?  We won’t protest the ones who are killing gays.  We’ll attack the Christians;you know…HATE!)

You get the idea.  Any effort to discuss something, especially using facts, will be attacked.  After all, regressives rely on lies (If you like your plan…) to get things done.  Exposing people to facts mean that the presenter of the facts must be attacked.  Even opinions that oppose regressive doctrine must be destroyed.  You simply cannot disagree with them.

So, getting back to #TrestinsFast, we knew that there would be hate and nonsense spouted, because that is what regressives do.  So, I knew far more of the coverage would be about the reaction than the fast itself, sadly.  However, it provides the opportunity to show what the forces of “tolerance” are really all about.  Here are a bunch of screen captures for you.  Get ready to feel the ‘tolerance.”

From the Daily Mail…

Aren’t you just feeling the “tolerance” oozing from these comments?  But on a serious note, we know that this type of thing is going to be the norm…

Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.

Luke 6:22 NIV

You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Matthew 10:22 NIV

In the end, we knew that #TrestinsFast is about raising awareness and making a statement.  We also knew that it would bring out the hate from the people that pretend to preach tolerance.  In that sense, #TrestinsFast  is also a “trap” to expose  their hate form Christianity, and challenge them on their “tolerance” of that religion that is sworn to their destruction, yet they will not challenge it at all.  And, yes, you can smell their hypocrisy.  Only their point of view is tolerated, and civil discourse means that only they are allowed to speak.

NOTE:  All comments are being sent straight to moderation for approval.  Remember that I’m not in the “douchebag rights” camp, so I don’t allow people to simple troll or spout hate on the blog.  Don’t cry about free speech.  It’s my blog, so it’s not a public space.

John Kerry: “The Internet Makes it Harder to Govern” And That’s a Bad Thing How?

John Kerry made a rare kind of statement recently-he shared liberal/regressive thinking, and didn’t even realize it.  Steve, from America’s Watchtower, has more…

Yesterday at the U.S. Embassy in Brazil John Kerry said the following:

I’m a student of history, and I love to go back and read a particularly great book like [Henry] Kissinger’s book about diplomacy where you think about the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and the balance of power and how difficult it was for countries to advance their interests and years and years of wars,” Kerry said to a gathering of State Department employees and their families.

“And we sometimes say to ourselves, boy, aren’t we lucky

Okay, nothing wrong there, we are lucky to live in a world where it is much easier for countries to communicate with each other. But apparently the Secretary of State does not see it that way for he continued:

Well, folks,” he said, “ever since the end of the Cold War, forces have been unleashed that were tamped down for centuries by dictators, and that was complicated further by this little thing called the internet and the ability of people everywhere to communicate instantaneously and to have more information coming at them in one day than most people can process in months or a year.

“It makes it much harder to govern, makes it much harder to organize people, much harder to find the common interest

First he says that dictators were able to “tamp down” any “forces” which were “unleashed” but that it was complicated by “this little thing called the internet.” You would think that this was a good thing as well but then he laments the fact that we the people have too much information because we are basically too stupid to process it all at once, and because we have this information it makes it harder for the elitist political ruling class to govern because the people are more knowledgeable about what is going on. Does he actually believe that “tamping down” is governing? That is what it sounds like he is saying.

Here’s my translation of Kerry’s comments…

People know too much-makes it hard for leadership to bamboozle them!

(It’s also amusing to think of that being said by Boris of Rocky and Bullwinkle fame)

Steve nails it of course, it;s the elitist view that the rubes in flyover country would have inter-cranial explosions trying to comprehend the complex world in which we live, and we should leave it to our intellectual betters, like John Kerry, and perhaps Sarah Alcid, to ponder the big stuff.

As for practical considerations, if it were not for the internet, how many people would know that hundreds of thousands of Americans have had their hours cut because of ObamaCare?

ANSWER:  None!

If it were not for the internet, would we have learned that Benghazi was not caused by a poorly made Youtube video that no one had watched?

ANSWER:  Nyet Comrade!

If it were not for the intern, would we know that “Fast and Furious” had a meaning other than that movie?

ANSWER:  Nope!

Would we know about all the “phony scandals” with tons of evidence, like the IRS, NSA, and the like?

ANSWER:  Not so much!

I could go on, but you get the point.  The idea that we can communicate and share ideas is terrible to the regressives.  They like compliant sheeple that know little, and question less.  Talk radio was bad enough for them- the internet made us an order of magnitude harder to control.

I’ve made the point that before that there is a psychological aspect to being able to share ideas.  When one finds out that they are no alone, and that other people think as they do, they become bolder in sharing and acting upon their ideas.  When people feel alone and isolated, they question themselves, and are inactive.  The affirmation of knowing that there are others that see the same things, and have the same beliefs grows confidence.  The regressives would rather have us rely on their MSM for all of our information, and we could be isolated and cut off from each other.  Then, we are more likely to be compliant, and manageable.

To Kerry, I must say the following…

Too freaking bad.

Pro-Choice Woman Destroys Pro-Life Signs, Slips and Reveals Genocidal Agenda

Regressives are slipping more and more as of late.  Perhaps with Obama in charge, and having won re-election, they figure it doesn’t matter what they say or do, because the MSM will never cover it. Or, maybe its that they’ve lived and studied in the unreality bubble for so long that they think everyone agrees with them.  Or, maybe they’re  just elitist a**holes that think they smarter than the rest of us us cretins.  I’ll go with the third option, by the way, but here is a short video showing the latest slip regarding a genocidal agenda.

Now, if someone at a Tea Party event did that, it would be front page news, and basis for claims 0f racism.  But, for a regressive to call for the death of people that are born addicted to a drug that their parent ingested, or just because they are poor?  Well, that’s OK.  Remember this?

Yes, the young lady in the first video has taken the regressive blood-lust, and made it a bit more sophisticated, and a hell of a lot cheaper.   You see, you don’t need camps with a “humane gas,” you just kill the “undesirables” before they are born.

And just to remind all of you, the vast majority of Planned Parenthood facilities are located in minority neighborhoods.  But let’s not let the genocidal agenda get out, mmkay?

Planned Parenthood

Just saying.

Establishment GOP Vs Tea Party? Karl Rove Thinks so

It seems that the establishment GOP, personified by Karl Rove, is declaring war on the Tea Party.  While we have know this ever since the Tea Party’s inception, it seems that the mask is coming off the RINO/Whig division of the party.  Breitbart has more…

The battle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party has begun. On one side is the Tea Party. On the other side stand Karl Rove and his establishment team, posing as tacticians while quietly undermining conservatism.

Yesterday, the New York Times reported that the “biggest donors in the Republican Party” have joined forces with Karl Rove and Steven J. Law, president of American Crossroads, to create the Conservative Victory Project. The Times reports that this new group will dedicate itself to “recruit seasoned candidates and protect Senate incumbents from challenges by far-right conservatives and Tea Party enthusiasts who Republican leaders worry could complicate the party’s effort to win control of the Senate.” The group points to candidates like Christine O’Donnell in Delaware and Richard Mourdock in Indiana as examples of Tea Party primary picks going sideways in major Senatorial battles.

The thing that jumps out more to me is that Rove and the regressive republicans are using the “Conservative” label.  That has angered me for some time now.  In my development as a politically aware person, I developed into a Conservative once I found that what I was taught in college and grad school did not at all translate into the real world.  In the last decade, especially after 2006, I finally put words to the sick sensation in my gut-that most “conservative” republicans were not Conservative at all.  They would talk a good game on the campaign trail, but govern like big government liberals when in office.

Did you notice that I referred to Rove and his ilk as Whigs?  If you don’t get the reference, look it up.

Liberal Professor Engages in Projection: Blames Mass Murder on “White Privilege”

Imagine, if you will, that you are a liberal regressive, and want to keep your client classes on the government plantation.  You don’t want them to become independent, as they would then no longer need you.  If they don’t need you, you can’t control them, you can’t manipulate them, and they won’t vote for you or the candidate of your choice.  Your adversary is then Western Culture, and the idea that one can better themselves with work and that everyone has opportunity.  To combat that, you need to negate those ideas, and tell your client classes that no matter what they do, they cannot succeed.  So, you create an non-existent construct that negates  the narrative of self sufficiency.  A perfect example of such a construct is the fallacy of “White Privilege.”  This intellectual poison pill explains away failure, and kills initiative by suggesting the all of society is built exclusively for white people, and people of other races cannot succeed.  To combat this mythical issue, whites must be systematically discriminated against, and be blamed for every single problem that exists in society.  It’s the perfect liberal boogie man.  You get to keep your people in intellectual chains, while keeping pressure and hate focused on those that live in reality.  When liberal policies decimate minorities, it’s “White Privilege!”  When union run regressive  schools systematically undereducate, if educates at all, it’s really  “White Privilege!”  When welfare policies destroy families, leading to increased crime and poverty, it’s “White Privilege!”

And, while we’re at it, why not blame mass murder on “White Privilege?”

Robert Jensen, who is a journalism professor at the University of Texas at Austin, also suggested race-based alienation is a motivating factor behind some parts of the conservative Tea Party movement.

“Why are the men who commit mass murder disproportionately white?” Jensen asked rhetorically. “My guess is that it has something to do with the sense of entitlement that most white people feel.”

“When the world doesn’t deliver what those men feel they deserve, violence is seen as a reasonable response,” continued Jensen.

OK, let’s take this apart.  Frankly, it’s frightfully easy.  First, let’s take a look at one of my favorite terms-“sense of entitlement.”

en·ti·tle·ment  [en-tahy-tl-muh?nt]

1.   the act of entitling.

2.  the state of being entitled.

3.  the right to guaranteed benefits under a government program, as Social Security or unemployment compensation.

OK, what do Conservatives and Libertarians want?  Do they claim a right to other people’s labor?  Do they demand ownership of what belongs to others?  OR, do they want to be left alone?  Do they just want to keep what it theirs, and live in peace?  And, is demanding to be left alone exercising a sense of entitlement?  You see, Mr. Jensen is engaging in that great liberal/regressive tradition of projection.  Since liberals do have a well developed and hypersensitive sense of entitlement, they see the world through “entitlement colored glasses.” So, they see their own tendencies in others.  In other words, Jensen is painfully twisting reality in order to accuse Conservatives and Libertarians of having liberal thought processes.

the fact of the matter is that all of the mass killers had significant psychiatric problems, and the laws did not allow anyone to intervene prior to the events.  But, let’s forget that, and blame it all on an fabricated reality used to keep the client classes on the plantation.

Democrats Boo God and Jerusalem Being the Capitol of Israel

The more an more that I observe (often sarcastically) the left, there is another though process bubbling underneath the snark.  As time as wore on, I have noticed, and increasingly so, that the regressives are more than just a misbegotten political system.  Instead, I keep getting the sense that I’m dealing with something more basic, and frankly, evil.  To back up that assertion, look at how the delegates reacted to God…

So then, we see that our regressive friends will place no other God before the state. Or, as I keep quoting…

Luke 21:17 All men will hate you because of me.

John 15:19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

John 15:21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me.

For me, this is evil.  Does that mean that we do anything nasty to them?  Of course not.  God takes care of that in the end.  But at the same time, we have to be wary of the threat to freedom that this represents.
