What do we call a day in which Obama does not lie?

A sign of the apocalypse!

Well, this past Wednesday  there was no apocalypse, and besides the obvious fact that we are here, there was a sign that meant that the world was safe.   Obama was caught lying about the Newtown massacre.  Hot Air has more…

Either (a) O’s referring to a different shooting, which I doubt, (b) I missed a major update to the Newtown story, (c) he knows something we don’t, or (d) he has roughly the same mastery of gun fundamentals as magazine expert Diana DeGette. From last night’s DCCC fundraiser in San Francisco:

Now, over the next couple of months, we’ve got a couple of issues: gun control. (Applause.) I just came from Denver, where the issue of gun violence is something that has haunted families for way too long, and it is possible for us to create common-sense gun safety measures that respect the traditions of gun ownership in this country and hunters and sportsmen, but also make sure that we don’t have another 20 children in a classroom gunned down by a semiautomatic weapon — by a fully automatic weapon in that case, sadly.

Adam Lanza had an honest-to-goodness machine gun on him, not a Bushmaster semiautomatic? That’s … an important detail, but I haven’t heard it mentioned once in the news coverage I’ve seen about Sandy Hook. (Then again, it’s not unusual for the media to overlook certain facts on this topic.) According to every report I’ve seen, including the Hartford Courant’s story just this morning about Connecticut’s new gun law, Lanza carried an AR-15. If O thinks a fully automatic rifle was used — which would explain his recent refrain about “weapons of war” — why is he targeting semiautomatics? And why isn’t Piers Morgan talking about this every night as proof of how easy it is for nuts to get hold of guns that even most soldiers aren’t allowed to carry anymore?

So, we are confronted with one of two options…

1.  Obama doesn’t know what he’s talking about, and is therefore misinformed, or an idiot.

2.  Or, Obama knows exactly what he’s talking about, and is lying through his teeth.

I would not want to be the Democrat that had to defend that, but then again, the media won’t cover it, so no one will admit that it even happened.

OK, the number is a wee bit of an exaggeration, but probably not by much.  It seems that MSNBC, and other news outlets, were caught selectively editing  footage to show that a parent of a Sandy Hook victim was heckled at a public hearing.  Nice Deb has the story and footage…

First off , here is the MSNBC video…

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Now, here is what really happened…

He wasn’t heckled AT ALL, as Treacher and everyone else on the planet who has seen the complete video, can see:

He asked the question and demanded an answer. There was complete silence. And only then, when he said that not one person could answer it — rather than remaining quiet out of respect for his feelings — did a few people answer it. You might not like their answer if you don’t like the Second Amendment, but that answer wasn’t unprompted. They were not heckling him.

How stupid do they think people are? Stupid enough to reelect Obama.

I guess I can see why they try this crap.

As you can see, the editing was subtle, but clear-  typical liberal propaganda.  Nice Deb has a great run down of all the times NBC, or MSNBC has been caught editing footage to make someone look bad.  It won’t be the last, and we’ll be around to expose it.

School Shootings Will Increase as Schools Increase Assault on the Spirit of Man?

Share

On Thursday, May 27, 1999, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee. In the light of the latest school shootings, I think that it is important to reflect on a portion of his testimony:

…The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain’s heart.

In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA – because I don’t believe that they are responsible for my daughter’s death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel’s murder I would be their strongest opponent.

I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy-it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies!…

…Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, soul, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual influences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation’s history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation?

We have refused to honor God, and in doing so, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine’s tragedy occurs-politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts. Political posturing and restrictive legislation are not the answers. The young people of our nation hold the key…

There is a lot of important information in here, but I want to focus mostly on this idea that men and women are three party beings, or the Tripartite Man as I’ve seen it called from time to time. We can find in Genesis 2:7, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, and Hebrews 4:12 this idea, that man (and woman) are the body, the soul, and the spirit- or the body, mind, and spirit as I see it.

In our schools we are supposed to be training the body and mind- through gym classes and math and science classes, two of the three natures of man are being addressed. And in our educational systems the third part of man is also being addressed, but not in a manner that is consistent with any sort of religion from any culture. In education, children are being taught to be hostile to God and his Word, to deny the existence of God, to ignore any sort of rules or teachings from any religion at all whether it be Christian or other, and to mock those who are religious. We can see this in textbooks, in classrooms, in standardized testing, in national and local standards- all of which impress on students that religion has no place in education (separation of church and state) and that faith and spirit are nowhere to be found in any sort of book or lesson or standard.

School shootings will happen, as will murder with blunt instruments or with knives or with hands, because there will be evil men out there who will desire to do evil things. Yes, implementing suggestions such as I have made on this blog will help to limit the damage that these evil men are able to do, mostly by unleashing the forces of good and liberty and property rights. But evil men will commit evil acts, and I don’t think that the answer to this is to simply say “there is no evil” or that “it all depends on who is judging to figure out what is evil” or to say “we can do nothing in our society to suppress evil in the hearts of the young.” I don’t think the solution is powerlessness, but rather empowerment.

At some point, our nation will need to move away from this nationalized one-size-fits-all secular hostile-to-God educational system, and move to something different. Local control, more values, religious education welcome, individualized and personalized instruction- all of these need to be brought into the educational system, and maybe after several generations of this sort of education the good in men can be encouraged and the bad in man discouraged. America can be a shining city on a hill, a beacon of light to all not just in a secular sense but in a spiritual sense, if only we return back to our founding values in education.

Des Moines Register Editorial Suggests Death to Gun Owners

Share

It kinda reminds you of why we have the Second Amendment.  It isn’t to hunt, or to target shoot.  It’s to protect us from tyrants, and moonbat editorial writers from the Des Moines Register, who suggest death to gun owners.  Moonbattery has more…

Sandy Hook served as a pretext for the following homicidal bile:

“I would tie Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, our esteemed Republican leaders, to the back of a Chevy pickup truck and drag them around a parking lot until they saw the light on gun control,” he wrote. Is that a threatening James Byrd reference? “And if that didn’t work, I’d adopt radical measures,” he continued.

Kaul’s solution to gun violence is the equivalent of curing a headache with a guillotine:

“Repeal the Second Amendment, the part about guns anyway. [… Gibberish confirming that he doesn’t know what the word militia means in the context of the Constitution. …] Owning a gun should be a privilege, not a right.

“Declare the NRA a terrorist organization and make membership illegal. … Make ownership of unlicensed assault rifles a felony. If some people refused to give up their guns, that ‘prying the guns from their cold, dead hands’ thing works for me.”

In other words, kill gun owners, because they are violent. That maniacs like Kaul have a tendency to acquire political power is all the reason you need to stock up on guns and ammo.

They’re loud.

They’re pushy.

They’re batsh*t insane.

And they want the power to do what they want, which is to kill a ton of people.

It’s people like Mr. Kaul that we need protection from.  And, according to the Founders, we can do that all by ourselves.

NOTE:  I’m not suggesting that we do to Mr. Kaul what he he would do to us.  We actually believe in freedom.  However, we do need to be vigialnt, and protect our freedoms, instead of using threats and insanity, like Mr. Kaul.

Liberals Threaten NRA with Death, Forgets That Clinton Made Same Suggestion

Share

hypocriteThe hypocrisy runs pretty deep in liberal-land.  If fact, hypocrisy might just be the bedrock upon which planet liberal rests, but that is a post for anther day.  Yesterday, the NRA responded to the horrific massacre at Sandy Hook, by advocating for armed police to be in each school.  Liberals all over, from political figures, to media talking heads, all vilified the NRA President, Wayne Lapierre, and many death threats were issued.  However, all of these useful idiots failed to recognize that one of their own, then President Bill Clinton, made that exact same suggestion after the Columbine incident in the 90’s.  The Lid has more…

As the Associated Press reported at the time:

“In our national struggle against youth violence we must not fail our children; our future depends on it,” the president said in his weekly radio address.

Parents, teens, teachers, youth workers and others will discuss research that indicates the preteen years set patterns for behavior and success in adulthood. Other subjects will include the risks, challenges and anxieties faced by young people today and what can be done to avoid dangerous or risky behavior.

“We need to talk about safety and security in every house in America,” Clinton said.

Republican critics said the federal government is a clumsy middleman in trying to cope with problems that should be addressed locally. They cast doubt on whether the teen conference would accomplish anything, accused Clinton of ignoring media violence and said he should support stiff jail sentences for anyone carrying a firearm in a violent or drug-related crime.

Clinton announced $40 million in grants for 23 school districts that he said have found successful, comprehensive approaches to help troubled young people.

“These districts are bringing school nurses and counselors together to respond to warning signs like depression or bullying,” Clinton said. “They are improving classroom security and expanding after-school and mentoring programs.”
Clinton also unveiled the $60-million fifth round of funding for “COPS in School,” a Justice Department program that helps pay the costs of placing police officers in schools to help make them safer for students and teachers. The money will be used to provide 452 officers in schools in more than 220 communities.

“Already, it has placed 2,200 officers in more than 1,000 communities across our nation, where they are heightening school safety as well as coaching sports and acting as mentors and mediators for kids in need,” Clinton said.

SHHHHH! Please don’t tell the liberals that Clinton supported a program very similar to the one presented by NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre today…It might cause their heads to explode…or even worse It might make them to think instead of politicizing.

Well, and that’s the whole point.  The Democrats have been “on the down-low” with gun control.  They want it, and want it badly, but they though it was a loser of an issue, until now.  While this story is hot, they have a chance to whittle away at our gun rights, so they’ll take their shot.  In other words, they’ll use dead children to score political points that will help no one-other than their long term agenda to disarm the rest of us.

6 Ways to Help Prevent School Shootings

Share

Perhaps it is the policy advisor in me, or the fact that I get really upset thinking that my five children may not be properly protected while in school, or I all the calls to ‘do something’, have gotten to me- so here are six ways to help prevent school shootings, as suggested by a conservative teacher with a degree in public policy from a top east-coast school:

  1. Allow more guns in schools. Lost in the school shooting tragedy has been the news from the other tragedy, the shooting at the mall. There only two people were tragically murdered by an evil person, because as the coward attempted to reload his gun he was confronted with an armed citizen who pulled out his own gun. The shooter’s next move was to take his own life, rather than continue his rampage and kill more innocent people. But at the school shooting, much like other school shootings that have taken place over the last several years, the scum was able to wander the school killing innocent people without any fear of being gunned down himself, because in both his fantasy world and in the real world he had no one would could oppose him. If there were more guns in schools- not less- than school shootings would not have the death tolls that we are seeing today.
  2. Armed administration. Law-abiding citizens who go through extensive training programs and considerable background checks should be able to legally carry and defend school children from evil people who would do them harm, and this should be part of an administrator’s job description. The man who runs the gas station up the street carries a piece; the manager at many job sits carries or is legally able to carry; and so administration in our schools should be allowed and trained to carry firearms. I’m not suggesting that we just pass out guns to teachers- they should go through teacher specific training, spend considerable amount of time in the range, have the proper background checks, and then have continual updates and training programs. Put guns in the hand of administrators- or at least make sicko’s think that they do- and there will be less school shootings purely because of the deterrence factor. See this article for more.
  3. Push for every high school to have a police school liaison officer. A Police School Liaison Officer is a law enforcement officer assigned to the school. The purpose of having a PSLO at school is to assist the school in maintaining a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. The PSLO interacts positively with students to gain confidence and trust. Students who choose illegal behaviors are held accountable by the PSLO through referrals to Social Service or citations. The PSLO actively supports the schools policy to discipline student behavior that threatens the health or safety of others. Funding for this program should be secured and and every school district should have one of these people in every high school, and perhaps another one split between the middle schools as well. I know that for elementary schools this sort of cost could not be justified- but at least high schools and maybe middle schools should be part of this program.
  4. Better lock-down drills. At my school district, our principal sends out an email to the whole staff letting us know when a lock-down drill will occur, that information is passed on to students, we run the drill and most teachers continue their teaching without change, and afterwards we receive no feedback. We practice the lock-down procedure in our school as if it is a joke- and when we really need to lock-down in reality I can only hope that the results will not be a joke. Lock down drills are important, and I hope that after the last several school shootings that principals around the nation will take them seriously and run them properly- unannounced, as if for real, calling in the SWAT teams, and providing feedback to teachers after the drill. Even the drills themselves need some work- there should be multiple locations to call for lock-down not one exposed PA system, for example. Better lock down drills might save lives.
  5. Building improvements. The MEA President was right about one thing- buildings need to be improved to protect students better. First change that needs to occur is that efforts must be made to limit access to buildings. Perhaps this will cost some money, but access to school children should be more tightly controlled than current ‘open door’ policy in schools, so school should redesign their main entrance ways to control the flow of visitors better. Second change that needs to occur is that doors need to be strengthened and locks need to be able to withstand some real blows from a psycho who may be trying to enter the door. Administration has keys and the fire and police have real ways of entering doors, but the little lock I have on my door into a hole in the door frame isn’t going to stop someone from busting in and gunning us all down. Simple and effective improvements to school buildings, although costing a little bit of money, can improve student safety in our schools.
  6. Training for staff. Professional development days for staff and administration should include time and training for self-defense, disarming attackers, how to hide effectively, where to run, locating safe areas in the school, and other measures to address staff and student safety. We are not trained or required to be trained, and these sorts of skills are as important to our professional development and safety as some of the other training that we have received over the skills. I’m not suggesting that we all learn how to be ninjas or anything- just once a year we get an hour or so to maybe get up and practice some techniques or take a tour of the school or get some other needed training that could save our lives and possibly the lives of the children in our schools.

Above I have laid out six constructive policies that can be implemented at the state level to address school shootings- I only hope that our nation goes beyond mere ‘discussions’ on taking guns away from law-abiding citizens and begins to seriously take real steps to protect staff and students.

A Possible Motive in the Sandy Hook School Shooting? Did Adam Lanza Act Before His Mother Could Commit Him?

Share

Today, FOX News reported that Adam Lanza, the perpetrator of the Sandy Hook Massacre, had a possible motive for his murder spree.  Some are reporting that his mother was planning to commit him.  Here is some video…

The Daley Gator has more on motives as well…

The Other McCain, who I stole part of that headline from, reports that we mayhave a motive in the Newtown shootings

We now have the first clear suggestion of a motive:

NEWTOWN, Conn. –  The gunman who slaughtered 20 children and six adults at a Connecticut elementary school may have snapped  because his mother was planning to commit him to a psychiatric facility . . .
[The creepy little weirdo], targeted Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown after killing  his mother early Friday because he believed she loved the school “more than she  loved him,” said Joshua Flashman, 25 . . .

“From what I’ve been told, [the creepy little weirdo] was aware of her petitioning the court for  conservatorship and (her) plans to have him committed,” Flashman told  FoxNews.com. “[The creepy little weirdo] was apparently very upset about this. He thought she just  wanted to send him away. From what I understand, he was really, really angry. I  think this could have been it, what set him off.”

A senior law enforcement official involved in the investigation confirmed  that [the creepy little weirdo’s] anger at his mother over plans for “his future mental health treatment” is being looked at as a possible motive for the deadly shooting.

While the left continues to use the event to press for their long time cause of gun confiscation, others are looking at reform in terms of how mentally ill people are treated.  While evil can’t be stopped in all cases, at least my man, things can be done to decrease the risk.  And, since people that aren’t going to follow laws against killing people, gun control isn’t going to do a thing.  It would not have stopped Adam Lanza, and it will not stop the next mass killer.

Obama Quotes Bible in Sandy Hook Speech: Misses Irony Completely

Share

In last night’s speech to honor the dead in the Sandy Hook shooting, President Obama quoted the Bible as follows…

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Holy Bible Matthew 19:14

There is one little problem with that, Mr. President.  These children are in public school, they cannot come to Jesus-they aren’t allowed.  Because, Mr. President, the SCOTUS decided that there is something in the Constitution that isn’t actually there, but it matched the regressive agenda.  So, God isn’t allowed in schools.

And, come to think of it, these kind of things happened far less when God was allowed in the schools, right?

Connecticut State Police Threaten to Investigate and Arrest People Spreading False Information on Social Networking Sites

Share

This is a rather chilling example of authoritarianism.  A spokesman for the Connecticut State Police threatened to investigate and arrest people spreading false information on the Sandy Hook shooting.  Here is the video, via Steve Piotrowski’s 1776-R.

This is chilling for three reasons:

1.  People can be wrong, and post things that they think are true.  Perhaps people were just posting what they saw on one of the alphabet networks?  Because, quite frankly, they have been reporting incorrect information all the time.

2.  What happens when facts don’t fit the narrative, and are discarded?  There are plenty of times, as of late, where information has been ignored or denied.  Will people reporting inconvenient truths be “investigated?”

3.  Steve Piotrowski points out another:

And with the N.D.A.A. in effect, American citizens can now be locked up indefinitely without a trial for just about any reason including making innocent facebook posts.

I get that there is frustration with false information being disseminated.  After all, I am  Conservative, and MSNBC routinely makes it up as they go along.  But, I’ve never done anything more threatening to them than chuckle warmly when I post about their sub-basement  ratings.

Steve gives some contact information…

Media Bias: Media Never Reported That Oregon Mall Shooting Stopped by Armed Citizen

Share

While the country was in a state of shock over the events at the Sandy Hook school shooting, the MSM was crying for gun control   In fact, they were doing so when even the earliest reports of that shooting were coming out.  However, they had an earlier shooting that very week, at an Clackamas, Oregon shopping mall.  However the MSM left an important aspect of that shooting out- that the shooting was stopped after an armed citizen pulled his weapon on the shooter.  Here is the video…

Isn’t it interesting that the MSM left this out of their coverage?  Or, was it just that the reality of the situation didn’t fit the  narrative, so reality had to go?  I think we know the answer to that.

Did the ACLU Help Enable Adam Lanza by Blocking Changes to Mental Health Treatment Laws?

Share

While the liberals are now operating in the open, tying to use the deaths of children to satisfy their long term goal of disarming the public, other factors are also being considered, but hardly covered.  It seems that the ACLU may have given Adam Lanza an “assist” in committing the mass shooting at Sandy Hook.  For the details, here is some more from SooperMexican

Fox News reports on the motive of the mentally disturbed Connecticut murderer [emphasis added]:

Adam Lanza, 20, targeted Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown after killing his mother early Friday because he believed she loved the school “more than she loved him,” said Joshua Flashman, 25, who grew up not far from where the shooting took place. Flashman, a U.S. Marine, is the son of a pastor at an area church where many of the victims’ families worship.

“From what I’ve been told, Adam was aware of her petitioning the court for conservatorship and (her) plans to have him committed,”Flashman told FoxNews.com. “Adam was apparently very upset about this. He thought she just wanted to send him away. From what I understand, he was really, really angry. I think this could have been it, what set him off.”

What might have prevented his mother from having him committed? The ACLU.

From Gateway Pundit [emphasis added]:

Connecticut is one of only SIX states in the U.S. that doesn’t have a type of “assisted outpatient treatment” (AOT) law (sometimes referred to as “involuntary outpatient treatment”). There’s no one standard for these types of laws, but (roughly speaking) these are laws that allow for people with mental illness to be forcibly treated BEFORE they commit a serious crime.

Whereas previous legal standards held that the mentally ill cannot be institutionalized or medicated until they harm someone or themselves, or until they express an immediate intent to do so, AOT laws (again, roughly speaking) allow for preventative institutionalization or forced medication

So, at some point, we are going to have to discuss the fine line between individual rights and protecting the public from people whose thinking is impaired.  That’s not going to be an easy discussion.
