Well, it seems that leaking is the best thing the AGW alarmists can do as of late. According the the Guardian in the UK, leaked documents from the Copenhagen faked- science-environmental summit have some interesting and unexpected consequences. Here are some excerpts from the Guardian
The UN Copenhagen climate talks are in disarray today after developing countries reacted furiously to leaked documents that show world leaders will next week be asked to sign an agreement that hands more power to rich countries and sidelines the UN’s role in all future climate change negotiations.
Well, besides the fact that there should be no climate agreement (Earth is cooling and all), I do have to applaud the fact that the UN is being thrown under the bus. They are so currupt and ineffective, I wouldn’t let them run a lemonaid stand.
The document is also being interpreted by developing countries as setting unequal limits on per capita carbon emissions for developed and developing countries in 2050; meaning that people in rich countries would be permitted to emit nearly twice as much under the proposals.
The so-called Danish text, a secret draft agreement worked on by a group of individuals known as “the circle of commitment” – but understood to include the UK, US and Denmark – has only been shown to a handful of countries since it was finalised this week.
The agreement, leaked to the Guardian, is a departure from the Kyoto protocol’s principle that rich nations, which have emitted the bulk of the CO2, should take on firm and binding commitments to reduce greenhouse gases, while poorer nations were not compelled to act. The draft hands effective control of climate change finance to the World Bank; would abandon the Kyoto protocol – the only legally binding treaty that the world has on emissions reductions; and would make any money to help poor countries adapt to climate change dependent on them taking a range of actions.
In other words, government assistance comes with strings attached. Sound familiar?
The document was described last night by one senior diplomat as “a very dangerous document for developing countries. It is a fundamental reworking of the UN balance of obligations. It is to be superimposed without discussion on the talks”.
A confidential analysis of the text by developing countries also seen by the Guardian shows deep unease over details of the text. In particular, it is understood to:
• Force developing countries to agree to specific emission cuts and measures that were not part of the original UN agreement;
• Divide poor countries further by creating a new category of developing countries called “the most vulnerable”;
• Weaken the UN’s role in handling climate finance;
Lol, keep the money away from UN officials personal bank accounts, their families accounts, their mattresses, and so on!
• Not allow poor countries to emit more than 1.44 tonnes of carbon per person by 2050, while allowing rich countries to emit 2.67 tonnes.
“Do as we say and not as we do.” Must have been written in Al Gore’s enormous carbon volcano he calls a mansion.
Developing countries that have seen the text are understood to be furious that it is being promoted by rich countries without their knowledge and without discussion in the negotiations.
You mean, there were no negotiations? No discussions? No hearing from all sides in a transparent manner? Sounds like what our left calls bi-partisanship!
“It is being done in secret. Clearly the intention is to get [Barack] Obama and the leaders of other rich countries to muscle it through when they arrive next week. It effectively is the end of the UN process,” said one diplomat, who asked to remain nameless.
Antonio Hill, climate policy adviser for Oxfam International, said: “This is only a draft but it highlights the risk that when the big countries come together, the small ones get hurting. On every count the emission cuts need to be scaled up. It allows too many loopholes and does not suggest anything like the 40% cuts that science is saying is needed.”
Well, this is where you go off the beam. There is no science that says we need to act, unless you count all the made up data as science.
Hill continued: “It proposes a green fund to be run by a board but the big risk is that it will run by the World Bank and the Global Environment Facility [a partnership of 10 agencies including the World Bank and the UN Environment Programme] and not the UN. That would be a step backwards, and it tries to put constraints on developing countries when none were negotiated in earlier UN climate talks.”
The text was intended by Denmark and rich countries to be a working framework, which would be adapted by countries over the next week. It is particularly inflammatory because it sidelines the UN negotiating process and suggests that rich countries are desperate for world leaders to have a text to work from when they arrive next week.
Few numbers or figures are included in the text because these would be filled in later by world leaders. However, it seeks to hold temperature rises to 2C and mentions the sum of $10bn a year to help poor countries adapt to climate change from 2012-15.
Well, well, well, here we have elites acting like…well, elites. They already negotiated this outcome and left the developing nations out in the lurch! It’s getting awfully crowded under the bus, isn’t it?
To the developing nations of the world: Welcome to the fun world of dealing with elites! They make the decisions, and you follow them! You made the mistake of thinking that you would actually have a say in this summit. The fact is that under the elite’s model for the future world, you are meant to be kept poor! They stacked the deck against you, and have been doing so for decades!
Have you noticed that all of that “sustainable development” crap they’ve been pushing on you has done nothing for your people? There is a reason for that…it is meant to do nothing for your people. They will give you someone else’s money, of course, but the requirements for accepting that money will make you more dependent, more impoverished, and more powerless, which is exactly where they want you!
I say this because these same elites are doing this the American people as well. The process and outcome are the same. Avoid it at all costs. If you are really interested in the welfare of your people, give them freedom and a free markets. Let your people build your nations, and then no one can take it away from you. Stay on your present course, and in 50 years, your people will suffer as much as they do now, if not more.

It seems like the thug leaders of “The Most Vulnerable” are always the ones with the most influence at the UN. It is easier to modify an existing deal (think Vader saying to Lando “pray I don’t alter it any farther”) than to get one signed to begin with. They just want ink on paper that commits us to this crap. Then and only then they’ll get serious about negotiating terms favorable to themselves.
Quite possible innominatus. It kills me though that these developing nations are this upset. Not that they shouldn’t be, mind you, but it’s as if they are unaware that they have being screwed for years by the UN. Yeah, they get a voice, usually to denounce us, but beyond that, what has the UN done for them? And what in the hell do they honestly expect out of this conference, other than bigger chunks of our money?
That’s okay. I’m sure Obama will be able to help them save or create jobs when the shit hits the fan for them.
Yeah, maybe they can sell ice cream in January!
Well, I for one am speechless with shock… not.
Globalized socialism, anyone?
That’s pretty much it Karen. Top-Down controlled economy, or lack thereof. The progressive’s dreams come true!
A pig usually squeals loudly when they are stuck with a knife. I wonder how loudly they squeal when they are ran over by a bus? Honestly, I would not be surprised at anything that comes out of Copenhagen. They still insist the science data is correct, even though it has been proven false. I don’t know what it is going to take to make them admit they are wrong.
LD, I don’t think they’ll ever admit that they’re wrong. They simply need to be defeated…and defeated again. They won’t go away.
Nice blog dude, but am I the only one having some problems with the interface i don’t know if it is because i’m using a old version of Opera!
Thanks for posting. It probably is the old Opera. New versions of Opera renders the site well. I know that older versions of IE (why anyone would use that is beyond me) really butchers the code.
I like your take on this, Matt! The smaller un-developed countries should know by know they will be thrown under the bus. It IS getting VERY crowded under there.
Off This topic, but wanted to put it up front. Here is link to youtube Video

Michelle says she did a story on her site too, and everywhere else!
Soon, they will need a much bigger bus…actually we’re ALL going to be under it, if the regressives get their way.
hey Matt!..It seems like the thug leaders of “The Most Vulnerable” are always the ones with the most influence at the UN…so true!
