Yesterday, the “coffee parties” kicked off, or did they just kick over? The coffee party website claims great success for their efforts, but reports are trickling in that indicate that their events were very poorly attended.
Today, local liberals held their second Coffee Party to push for more socialism.
30 people turned out… Including the people who were already at the restaurant and the tea party infiltrators.
And the results were extremely poor in other locations as well.
Yes, that is, allegedly, all 5 people that showed up!
So, the Tea Parties had some quickly arranged “Kill the Bill” protests. What of their attendance?
The Minneapolis Star Tribune headlines tonight: Thousands rally at State Capitol to kill health care bill. The crowd, gathered on short notice on a cold March day, was impressive:
Rally organizers said 4,000 people attended, but Capitol police estimated the crowd at 2,000 or fewer.
And here is a report from St Louis.
On Wednesday morning, 2,225 patriots turned out at the “Kill the Bill” rally in St. Charles, Missouri.
They were expecting 600…… But, 2,225 turned out.
Alrighty then, I have some questions…
Will the MSM ignore the Tea Parties?
Will they continue to give friendly coverage to the coffee parties in spite of their easily verifiable failure?
Why in the hell didn’t the coffee parties use some of Soros’s money to purchase some rent-a-mob? That’s been the operating model for the left for years now.
Speaking of rent-a-mob, P/Oed Patriot is reporting that some paid folks did show up at a Tea Party event.
Note the rent-a-mob in their SEIU shirts and professionally printed signs…will they ever learn?
Some might ask, “Why pay attention to the Astroturf?” I would answer that they do intend on deceiving people into giving their freedoms away to the nanny state, so showing the truth always helps. I would add that it’s always advisable to pay attention to the other side. After all, we can’t expect the MSM to do their job, so someone has to expose fraud and failure when it creeps into the public scene. So expose it we will.
More as this develops.
Update: I forgot to mention that this new “movement” also illustrates the differences between right a left rather nicely. The right believes in the primacy of the individual, and the social contract between the individual and state. Therefore, the Tea Parties are local phenomena, and they are not centrally controlled. They are free thinking individuals that have joined in common cause-to demand that the government honor it’s side of the contract.
The left, on the other hand, stresses the role and well being of the group over the individual. For them, individualism is a dirty work, akin to “selfishness.” They may speak of individualism as part of “diversity,” but that is really code for agreeing with them. (Don’t believe me? Then actually be diverse and disagree with the left, you racist! ) They see the state as the central planner, from which all rights, goods, and privileges descend. Hence, their movements are top-down controlled.
This is a blessing and a curse. Tea Party organizers can’t count on anything but the word of their members. That works, most of the time, but it also means that there is much debate and dissent. Remember when one group proposed a national strike? There was a great deal of contentious debate, and the strike never happened. It didn’t “fizzle,” per se, but the individuals in the movement, including myself, did not see any benefit to it, so we spoke our minds, and did not participate.
Leftists groups have a power structure. Since they advocate for central control, they emulated that here. The coffee parties are centrally controlled, so what ever flaws are are inherent in the main leadership will translate right down to the local level. Apparently here, their message didn’t resonate, so folks didn’t show up.
We’ll see if this movement continues. Maybe next time they’ll pay some rent-a-mob to show up.

More SEIU thugs and George Soros backed protestors. Did you notice the SEIU thugs up in the face of the Tea Partiers? It appears they almost want to provoke something.
That’s part of the Alnsky method. Push the opposition until they retaliate. They claim to be the victims.
Okay, here is my take on the Coffee Party vs. the Tea Party. Both groups of people have the right to assemble, discuss, protest, etc., as long as it is kept within the law. That being said, they should be reported on truthfully by the media. As it is clear that is not going to happen, then we the alternative media have every right and dare I say it, the obligation to tell the truth.
The Tea Party is clearly a movement that has sprung up from among the people, while the Coffee Party has a suspect background and beginning. That leads me to wonder if this is being organized by those who only want to counter what the Tea Party is doing. Let’s just suppose that is the case. Again, that is their right to do so, but they should at least be truthful about it. If they are not, then that is where we come in again.
Well said Larry. I did update the post to explain my ideas a bit more. You are aldo right in that they have every right to be out there. But we’ll expose them if they’re frauds, and it is really looking that way.
I agree, the Coffee Party looks, acts, and sounds like something organized by the progressives to combat the Tea Party, which they claimed to be an astroturf movement.
I have my own thing on the Coffee Party that I will be posting in the morning, it involves the mythical beast Fenrir from Norse mythology, which came to me when I read their slogan or something similar they said. I actually had fun with that one.
I’ll check your post out Solomon. Thanks for commenting. You also refer to a lesson in dealing with the left. They will almost always accuse the right of what they are doing. It’s been a very predicable tactic on their part.

I believe that this is because Soros and the far left leaders don’t put any stock into this new ‘movement.’ You have to remember that the left has a play book and they abhor deviating from said book. Even though they pass themselves off as the party of tolerance and ‘progress,’ they are actually resistant to change. This is something that we can press to our advantage, knowing how your opposition works is always a plus.

They did get funding from one of Soros’s organizations, the linky is in the article. I do agree that they are resistance to change…any change that leads to greater freedom for the individual. My only guess is that they didn’t get enough money from Soros to get rent-a-mob, or they thought that they could get supporters from the left.
The more and more I look at the left and their factions, Move On, Organizing for Amerika, ACORN, and SEIU, the more I think that a lot of their people actually expect to be paid, and won’t show up unless they’re either paid or bused in. I’m just not seeing people on the lefty side jumping in their cars, making their own signs, and organizing themselves. Maybe I’m generalizing, or maybe the lefties are just drones. No matter the cause, it seems that we have the initiative, and hopefully the movement keeps on chugging along.
I saw the link, but I was saying that the ‘higher ups’ in the moonbat circles were in all likelihood not wanting to fund the ‘Coffee Baggers’ to any great degree because to do so would be to admit the Tea Party movement has been effective.

“Tea Party” has it’s roots in American history while “Coffee Party” is just a made up name. Your point about the “Alnsky method” is well taken.
Thanks Harrison. That’s a good point. It like a generic brand making up a similar product name to distract the public.
The Coffee Party seems contrived and that is why it probably won’t be successful where the Tea Party sprung up as a grassroots effort. I think your assessment is right on, there was no centralized Tea Party, but individual one that have no come together under a common cause. The Tea Party will endure and they will find that out in November, but I do not think the Coffee Party has legs.
It will be interesting to see what type of coverage the Coffee Party gets in the media moving forward, I am sure the media will grant the Coffee Party the legitimacy that they still have not given the Tea Party.
CNN declared them a success yesterday.
Its funny that the left has been protesting and expressing outrage so long they have rent-a-mobs and professional signs.

Tea Party: American Revolution and Boston Patriots protesting an unfair tax.
Coffee Party: Idiots hanging out at Starbucks sipping lattes and looking too cool for school with their Macbooks.
Of course, the MSM (which I unfortunately work for) will probably report the coffee parties as huges successes with massive turnouts of the best and brightest of civlization.
My thought on the coffee parties:
They are like starbucks, over-priced, pretentious, and bitter.
